Reviews for Cap's On The Water - Docks Destroyed
Great Atmosphere!, 2017-05-01
Captain: , Mayport Florida (452)

Wonderful food with a phenomenal outdoor atmosphere. Yes it's a bit pricey but well worth it. Excellent service but be prepared for a wait...this place is in demand. Only downside is they don't take reservations. Order a cold drink at the outdoor bar while you wait for a table.

Decent Place but a little pricey..., 2016-02-21
Captain: , Jacksonville (10)

We stopped there on a jet ski ride from Jacksonville. 35 minute wait on Saturday afternoon, but the area was nice enough that it wasn't horrible. The food was good, but nothing out of this world. For two adults and our daughter though we ended up with an $80 bill. Obviously, you can also pick from the cheapest items on their menu. It wasn't bad, but expect to spend a little more than usual.

Good food; small-boat dock only, 2016-01-10

While this is a "marina" marker, that's somewhat misleading as the plastic floating dock here is suitable only for dinghys and small runabouts. So my rating here is for the restaurant; we got in just before their annual post-holiday closure and enjoyed a very nice meal. We anchored the big boat just north off-channel for the night and tendered in. It was cold and blowy so we ate "inside" (enclosed patio); I imagine its packed on warm weekends.

Unique dining experience!, 2015-07-21

This is a great stop for lunch or dinner. The atmosphere is one of a kind - sort of ecclectic and earthy. Food is wonderful.
There is dingy docking but is limited and may suffer from wakes during busy boating times so put out the fenders.

Tip for crowded times - there are tables behind and around the bar that are "open" seating and are normally empty so check there before putting your name on the wait list!

Great outdoor restaurant, 2013-10-27

Used courtesy car from Comanchee Cove Marina. One of the best restaurants on the ICW.

Great food and view, 2013-05-07

We have never docked here, only gone by car. Parking can be an issue, so go early! Lovely setting on the ICW and large outdoor seating. Family friendly. The food has always been very good and the wait staff very attentive. Prices ok. Seafood offerings are excellent.

Great Place to eat with wonderful atmosphere., 2012-05-16
Captain: , St. Augustine, FL (175)

To be honest, we go there by car as our boat is in a slip nearby. All of the food is good, but I especially recommend the appetizers - We usually just share a few. Key Lime Cup is also not to be missed!

Great Food!!, 2012-03-19

Beautiful setting and great food! Although a bit pricey, well worth it in quality and atmosphere. Most of the time we go by land but have been there with the boat and tied to the dock. I don't really recommend this. wakes are constant and often large.

If you go, have the Calamari Vilano appetizer. Awesome!

One of the top area restaurants!, 2011-08-20
Captain: , Hammock Beach, FL (233)

We drive 45 minutes to go Cap's as it is one of our favorite St Augustine area restaurants. It is a great setting with excellent food & wine list. The indoor/outdoor set-up is great with beautiful trees providing a natural canopy over the place. The dock is a bit weak and wakes can be rough (not a no wake zone), but it's worth it for a great meal by boat.

Great location and fun property, 2010-12-09
Captain: , Miami Beach, FL (87)

On a warm summer evening this place can have a 2-hour wait (no reservations). This is all about the location, the views and the great outdoor dining setting. Food was good, but the setting is everything. Great spot for a sunset dinner on the ICW.
