The service here has slipped since they moved to the new location. I've got the runaround here on a couple of jobs. Estimates are extremely different depending on who you talk to and usualy 2x what Dunato's charges.

This year my wife and I bought a brand new 2012 Beneteau Oceanis 45 from Signature Yachts. CSR Marine out of Ballard does the commissioning work for Signature. Beyond the normal commissioning work CSR devised a brilliant electrical system for our new baby. Essential they separated the two battery systems completely and installed a manual emergency combiner switch. The house system on one bank and the starter/windlass/thruster as the other bank. The stock 80 amp alternator and the stock 60 amp charger to support the starter/windlass/thruster bank. They then added a second alternator (Balmar 210amp), Magnum Energy 100amp charger, 2000 watt inverter and ME battery management system dedicated to the house bank. This system rocks, flawlessly works as designed. The alternator mounting and wiring system that they implemented is a work of art. We have been working this system hard and not a single issue to be found. We also requested a non-typical bottom paint application. Very new for them and the application was complex and very strenuous. They worked through all the challenges and nailed it. The standard commissioning portion went off without a hitch. We have found very few defects in the boat since taking possession months back. I was on-site nearly every other day and they treated me with extreme respect and courtesy. While at times I was surely a hindrance they never made me feel that way. I felt welcomed every time I walked through the gate. All the technicians knew their stuff, I was impressed. I would highly recommend CSR Marine for any boat work.

The entire crew is friendly and helpful. They are prepared to think with you through a problem and not just looking to run up labor hours and your bill. My only criticism - there procedure for applying a fresh coat of a modified epoxy bottom paint (trinidad) is pressure wash and apply. New paint over old works best when applied to a virgin surface which requires sanding. They were certainly prepared to do that but it was not included in the quoted price for the bottom paint package. Lesson relearned - With any yard it's not enough just to ask for a bottom job. Inquire into the procedures they will follow for the price they quote.

Very knowledgable yard with 70 ton travel lift. Investigated vibration on prop shaft found cause (face of coupling 5 thou out) Replaced and all good. Used new gortex packing on shaft gland, hardly drips at all. Now done 250 hrs perfect.
Good value for money, very helpful and at my request did last minute Propspeed to propellors (worked late, no overtime rates). Boat now been in the water for 18 months and props still clean and we have not cleaned them.
Our Boat is a Nordhavn 62 which is about as big as rhe yard can cope with.
