Approach

Coming into the dock area, favor the north side of the narrow channel; near Rich Island. At low tide the southern half of the channel bottom is exposed. There is a submerged rock (1.5 ft depth at MLW, marked by a private buoy in the channel) that is about 10 yards south of the exposed and charted rock pile among the docks. The buoy is frequently off station, so if you don't have local knowledge it is best to come in at half-tide or higher.

Reviews for Byram Shore Boat Club
Byram Harbor info for cruisers, 2010-03-05
Captain: , Byram, CT (698)

Byram Harbor dock is within a town park that does not cater to non-residents. However you can land a dinghy at the dock without hassle and the nearby Calf Islands are a nice anchorage. There are no facilities, other than a water hose at the dock. The park is a short and pleasant walk to Byram and Port Chester where there are delis, restaurants and shopping. There is a full-line True Value Hardware store (Feinsod's Hardware) and you can provision at a Super Stop and Shop or Costco in Port Chester (both are a stone's thow from the Westchester Marina up the Byram River).
