Reviews for Buzzard's Point Marina
Good Place to Stop, Especially in a Blow, 2016-07-31
Captain: , Annapolis (434)

Buzzard's Point is way up the creek but easy to get to if you keep an eye on the chart and follow the markers. We were met by a helpful dock hand. The piers are just OK but the power is good and other marina residents are very friendly. The WiFi signal is strong but it uses the old WEP security protocol which newer version extenders, etc. may not recognize. Ours didn't so our internet use was liimited. The ferry from Tanger Island came in shortly after we arrived and a bunch of people deismbarked. We undertsand there may be a deal on slip rental if you were to take the ferry trip to Tangier but we didn't partake. But the big thing is that this marina is very protected, a good hurricane hole.

Friendly folks and Great Service, 2016-07-01

Stayed 1 night. Edward at the fuel dock helpfully worked with us to clear a plugged vent in our guest head. Then arranged for a ride to the local grocery in town. The local boaters tied-up there went out of their way to be friendly as well.

Supermax Anchors made here!, 2015-09-25
Captain: , Branford, CT (1003)

Friendly staff and marina tenants. We were greeted by Steve who bought the Supermax anchor business. He gave me a nice tour of his facilities. Need a new anchor? Stop here and save the shipping. Ths is also a great hurricane hole.

Quite spot to stay. No depth issues coming in and easy access from the Bay. Edward, Marina owner, very helpful and friendly on arrival and even drove us into town for some provisions and a scenic tour of Reedsville. Not much in terms of services ( restaurants etc) but a good spot.

Free, zip, nada!, 2015-09-04

Came to Buzzards Cove to take the ferry to Tangier Island (make sure you get to Tangier) dockage for two nights was free when we bought the ferry tickets, $27 each for a +3 hour ferry ride. BAsic faciliites in a very picturesque cove. Courtesy truck, really friendly staff and residents. Stayed 9/27 - 28/15

The place to go if you are single handing and need to take on fuel and ice. I have never seen any wind or waves in here. Fuel pier is up creek from the ferry dock and can be hidden by ferry.

We really like Buzzard's Point. Docks are good, and thre is a We really like Buzzard's Point. Docks are good, and there is a friendly environment. While we are sailors, the fishermen are willing to share their advice, and the power boaters are fun and inclusive. The other sailors are also great. This is also the center for the area's festivals. The restrooms are a little rustic, but clean, and phone service is spotty, which is why I gave it only 4 stars. This is a secure place to stay in bad weather. I do not know if they routinely monitor VHF, it is probably best to call.

Great Stop, 2012-09-19
Captain: , Stafford, VA (148)

Staff very helpful and friendly. Nice facilities. Very friendly people on dock, included us in their cookouts every night and we all shared some stories. Not as big as some marinas but adequate.

Great marina and staff!, 2012-07-14
Captain: , Powhatan, Va (40)

Very protected! Water as still as a millpond, even with a strong breeze. Staff were as nice as you could ever ask. Good, clean restrooms/showers, small store (2 actually), boatel and small yard, covered picnic area. Best fuel in the area for freshness and price. Give respect to markers on the way up river and you'll be fine. The Tangier Island Ferry (Chesapeake Breeze), quite large, calls this home, depth not a problem. Easy access to Bay.

Best place to buy fuel. Jim n I, Reedville, VA., 2011-10-15
Captain: , Reedville, VA (689)

This is the only place in Reedville that staff and fuel are always available. The others are hit and miss. The fuel is fresh as most all boaters in the area fill up here thus insuring a good turnover of the product.
