Reviews for Bushnell's Basin Public Boat Dock
Good place to dock overnight and great for cycling to Pittsford or Fairport, 2016-08-19
Captain: , Willsboro Bay Marina (2412)

We enjoyed docking in front of Abbott's Frozen Custard.

Warning: Ensure to tighten your docking lines as there are sudden surge of water flow from the Locks West bound that pulls your boat side ways. That explains the strong cleats on the dock.

Be prepared to have an audience on the side of your vessel (privacy).

Great for walking to the Richardson's Canal House for Lunch or Dinner.

Middle point for visiting two exciting locations.

You may visit by bicycle 20 minutes (3.1 miles) to Pittsford an 25 minutes (4.2 miles).

bushnell's basin gets no love, 2015-07-11

Sandwiched half way between two fantastic stops Fairport and Pittsford few cruises ever stop here. I fact we have passed it by for years. this year because the canal closures blew up our plans we had a few extra days that we decided we would spend checking out places we usually bypass. The dockage fees are the same as Fairport ($11for boats over $40). the floating docks are in great shape and the is water, 30 and 50 amp power, water and pump out. with I. a short walk are several restaurants, liquor store, 24 hour conscience store and pharmacy. right at the park there is ice cream and coffee. it is a great stop. the only reason that I did not give five stars is the nearby busy road. Give Bushnell's some love!

A great place to stop & relax, 2014-08-01

As said by someone earlier--don't miss Pittsford Farm Dairy. They may not have a supermarket close to the docks, but this place has milk and ice cream, many cheeses, eggs, butter, numerous meats, yogurt, candy, syrup, various juices and teas & other drinks, many varieties of breads and pastries, pies and cakes. Many other things are available across the street at the convenience store /gas station/Dunkin Donuts location.

The Thursday Farmer's Market had a wide variety of fresh fruits and veggies, sausage, beer and wine, baked goods and a food truck as well as some non-food items.

Great stop for ice cream, 2014-07-07

Our boat was docked as close to an Abbot's Custard as you can get. It was great.

The docks are fine and when we received our welcome package, it included a very nice T-shirt. Additionally, there were coupons for a number of local shops. We took advantage of the free root beer at Tom Wahl's. They serve a great burger, too.

In addition to these Rochester favorites, it was nice to have power, water and a clean shower.

This is a great place to stop on the Erie Canal for a short visit or an overnight stay. The marina is run by the town of Perinton. Docking fees are minimal, same as Fairport. Dockmaster is the Hess station.
There are numerous places to eat, from pizza take out to the historic Richardson's Canal Inn.

Nice Clean Stop for a few boats, 2012-08-06
Captain: , Brewerton, NY (489)

Nice new floating docks on south side of canal, with 4 power/water posts and space for 4 to 6 boats. Clean restroom and shower facility is adjacent to docks. Pumpout is available on the dock, but access may be blocked by docked boats. Restaurants, convenience store, Dunkin Donuts, ice cream stand and drug store available within 1/4 mile.

New free dock with power and bathrooms and pumpout, 2011-08-22
Captain: , Gulf Breeze, Fl (6909)

New as of 2011 is a very nice floating dock with room for 4 boats with power posts. All free I've been told. The dock was full so passed by. However There also is a bathhouse adjoining the docks.
Restaurants and stores visible.
