Reviews for Bull River Marina
Great Diving Service at Bull River, 2017-05-21

After leaving the boat for 3 weeks at Bull River it was due for a bottom cleaning. Breck Whiddon was recomended by the marina. He did a great job at a very reasonable price. I would use him again if I was in the area. Call Breck at 272-1971.

This marina has very strong current and 8' tides. A lot of live- abords that are very frendly. Not alot to offer around the marina but Enterprise will pick you up and it is a short drive to Savannah.

We thought we had reservations at Thunderbolt Marina through Snag-a-Slip, but when we called to confirm we discovered a mix up. I shot an email to Snag-a-Slip. They immediately refunded our money and said they would find us a slip in Savannah, at no charge to us. That's how we ended up at Bull River Marina, and boy, we couldn't have been happier. Ron helped us dock and then helped us move up and reposition when we discovered our 30 amp power wouldn't work. He found us a 50 amp hookup and then recommended Islands Ace Hardware for possible fuses and offered us a ride with his wife, Andie (who calls herself the "bull" of Bull River and just got a new position at the local West Marine), to pick up the part. We called and spoke with Chris, who found our fuse, texted us a pic of it to make sure it was right, and then, unbelievably, drove the fuses to us at dinner (The Flying Fish Bar and Grill right by the Marina) after he got off work at 8 pm. And, he refused to take our money for the fuses or the delivery. We met Gina on just her first week working at Bull River, and she hung out with us and told tall tales and made us smile. We met an Aussie who had just completed a round the world sailing trip on a giant catamaran. Our stay was free, including power (thank you Snag-a-Slip), our new fuses were free (thank you Chris and Islands Ace Hardware). We left at high tide and had about 8" clearance under the bridge, so if you need more than 20', don't try this.

Nice marina on Bull River..., 2016-07-31
Captain: , Grand Rivers, Ky (95)

This is a nice marina with very friendly and accomodating staff. I walked in and rented a small fishing skiff to explore the creeks and rivers. I was treated well and the staff shared a lot of local knowledge prior to my voyage. The docks appeared to be in good condition and well maintained.

Great marina off the beaten path, 2016-06-07

I have kept a boat at Bull River for a couple years now. The marina has gone thru many changes since the previous owners including updates to dock conditions, services avaliable, staff, restrooms, etc. Although off the ICW, a nice spot to stop if you can make it under the Bull River Bridge (26ft clearance @ LT)

A great marina, 2012-07-31

Friendly staff with a passion for boating, great facilities, deep water at all tides, best views of Savannah Shipping Channel and vast marine estuary

Safe overnight stay, 2012-07-17

Staff helpful
We arrived late and after closing hours, we were permitted to stay tied up the the fuel dock overnight for a decent rate. Docks were in excellent condition. Fuel priced fairly.

Off the beaten path, 2011-04-27

We found this marina to be the closest we could get to Tybee Island. We were able to take our dinghy the 5 miles into Tybee which was well worthwhile. However, the marina needs some work. The docks are falling apart and the restroom is very neglected. The staff was helpful, but frankly feel that the restrooms are not their job. We took our bikes on a 15 minute ride to a Publix, half of which is on a very nice bike path. Bottom line its a nice location off the ICW, but hard to recommend the current status of the facility. Least Expensive and Close to Downtown, 2010-04-14
Captain: , Louisville (301)

We researched the prices of all the marinas near Savannah, before leaving our boat for a week. Found Bull River to be the least expensive at $5 per foot for a week, and they are closer to downtown and airport than some of the other larger marinas. Laid back marina with a very helpful team.
