Reviews for Buffalo Yacht Club
My idea of a yacht club, 2016-09-21
Captain: , Cleveland, Ohio (130)

This is an historic club that is well maintained and staffed by friendly people. After reading the reviews on the Erie Basin Marina, I decided to try BYC. I couldn't have been happier. Clean and convenient. The food in the clubhouse was top notch. I'll be back.

The club facilities is usually closed on Monday, so no restaurant, but if you called for a reservation and were given an assigned slip, you will have access to clean showers and rest rooms.

New Guest Dock, 2015-08-12
Captain: , Hilton Head, SC (950)

This year BYC constructed a floating guest dock on the north side of the harbor entrance. Easy in and out, plenty of depth. Paul, the Harbormaster, was very helpful and informative about the area. We had a chance to partake in the racer's grill available on Tuesday nights. Clean facilities - friendly members. I would suggest staying here if you are having work done at RCR about 3 NM to the south - that area is very industrial and there are few amenities around.

No stores nearby, 2013-07-24
Captain: , Erie, PA (587)

The BYC has a charming club house and generally has guest dockage available. We are fond of staying on the North enterance wall as there is a low floating dock at this location. Slips are sometimes available in the basin but there is not a lot of manuvering room available.

The club is not in the greatest location in town so wandering the nearby streets at night is usually discouraged although a cab can take you any place you want to go. There are no real food stores within a reasonable walking distance but a few convienience stores are within a short hike.

There is a Naval Reserve Center next door if you are ex-Navy.

Historic yacht club, 2012-03-02

We really like the Buffalo YC. Although a larger club than most it still has that aura of times gone by. The bar is awesome and at night the lights of Buffalo are stunning.
The club has very friendly members and is a great stopping off point for Lake Erie transients.
