Reviews for Bucksport Marina
We loved Bucksport, 2016-08-23
Captain: , Newport RI (430)

This is very cool, friendly small town and the service from Bill and Bill at the marina was some of the most accommadating that we have encountered. Easy walk down the waterfront path to Hannafords or if you are loading up on groceries there is another dingy dock closer to the bridge by Hannafords.
We walked over to the bridge tower observation and to Ft. Knox, about 2 miles, but it was worth the walk. Bill offered a ride if we pooped out! Bucksport is one of our fond memories of Penobscot Bay!

Bucksport's Friendly Marina, 2016-08-12
Captain: , Bucksport (12)

A great Marina! Bill Chandler, marina manager is O.K. Bill & Doug, the dock hands, are really terrific. They are knowlwdgable, cheerful, and always willing to lend a helping hand. We love talking to them.
This should be a definite stop on your summer cruise. Rates are excellent and service extraordinary.

Neat Spot to Stop!, 2016-07-20
Captain: , Bucksport, Maine (10)

Bucksport Marina's located in a beautiful site on the Penobscot River across from historic Fort Knox, which has been restored and is open to the public. It's an easy cruise on up the river to Bangor, and up or down the river is a beautiful ride.
Bill Chandler, the dockmaster, and his crew could not be nicer or more friendly or more helpful. The marina facilities are very clean and a supermarket, banks, and a restaurant are all within walking distance. I can't say enough good about the place.

Best Marina on the Penobscot, 2016-06-20
Captain: , Bucksport, ME (10)

OK, I am biased. This is my home port. However, the service here is second to none. The marina staff is extremely helpful and friendly. The fuel is the cheapest you will find on Penobscot Bay. The town is great, there is a grocery store, convenience store, several restaurants, movie theater, ice cream shop, bookstore, etc. The river walk is a beautiful place to take a stroll. the town often has concerts on the waterfront on Wednesdays. Marina has a private bathroom with shower, bbq grills for use, picnic tables, good WIFI, a webcam to check on your boat, and pump out facilities. Also a member of Boat US.

Gem in the rough, 2015-08-05
Captain: , Southport Me (11)

Arrived Tuesday afternoon after a 4 hour passage from pulpit harbor because of very dense fog so we're very weary--the crew on the docks were super taking us in and handling all lines perfectly. Service? Could not be better - one of our group had to go to Searsport to pick up a fuse - no problem drove him there right away and would not take any money. Very attentive and personable. You won't regret coming up the river and staying here while exploring the region.

Got everything and is easy to get to, 2014-09-06
Captain: , Beverly, MA (1130)

This is a nice marina, it has most of the necessities for a boater except a club house. This marina was just purchased by the city, so the same information applies to the municipal docks as well. The city has elected to reduce the costs per foot to $1 up to 40 ft and $1.25 over. In my opinion a great value for what you get. They are friendly and helpful. The river walk takes you to the things needed; ie Groceries, resturants, hotels etc. A nich touch is grills and picnic tables set up on 2 finger docks for use.
