Reviews for Browns Wharf Marina
Excellent Marina, 2017-08-13
Captain: , Naples (100)

The pride they take in their appearance and your experience is obvious. The attention to detail on the property is impressive - they even put flowers on top of the pilings. The on-site restaurant is excellent and everything is made on premises. It's a reasonable and pleasant walk across the footbridge to the town. Good docks, power, and dockhand help. Definitely the place to stay in Boothbay Harbor.

Came to our rescue, 2017-07-29

When Carousel Marina next door gave our 50' trawler a mooringappropriate to a 30' boat that we had to vacate rather than strike the boat next to us, Carousel was hostile and said 'not their problem'. We called Browns Wharf and the people we talked with couldn't have been nicer or more accomodating. For the same cost we have a very nice mooring away from the crowded smaller boats. We went ashore to check in and pay, and the office staff were as lovely as possible. Definitely choose Browns Wharf for a stay in Boothbay!

Good Food Nice People, 2016-07-26
Captain: , Visalia, CA (380)

The staff are helpful and nice. Docking is easy and the food in the restaurant is great. It is a nice walk to the main town and they have a courtesy car for the food market. There also is a shuttle for people who don't like to walk.

Great Way to Experience Boothbay, 2016-06-25
Captain: , Chebeague Island (479)

We regularly return to Brown's. Excellent moorings and slips. Register at the front desk. Guest computers/printers, coffee and tv in the inn lounge. Good internet access. Clean showers/laundry. The staff is outstanding and everyone in the marina is friendly. The restaurant is always busy. The sunsets are the best around, easily enjoying the light well after those in-town have been in shade. Quieter during the high season too, since it's across the harbor. Our kids love to fish off of the floats and there is an adjacent area for pets. The trolley comes by on a regular schedule for easy access to the center of town and the supermarket which lies a couple of miles out. Dinghy is the easiest way to go in-town.

Brown's is the prettiest marina in town..., 2015-08-08

It's also full of friendly folks and loaded with services for just $35 a night. Their facilities are extremely clean, tidy and full of well cared for flowers. Laundry, showers, free internet cafe with coffee and wi-fi that actually reaches the mooring field. While the showers are .25 for 2.5 minutes...never had to pay because the time hadn't run out on my side. Fell in love with Boothbay Harbour on our first time through with it's plethora of restaurants, cute and varied shops including a real book store with toys and games for our family and a grocery store in town! Boothbay is a must-see and Brown's was a great choice for us!

Very professional and helpful, 2015-07-16
Captain: , Narragansett Bay, RI (446)

We stayed on one of their moorings for the night. When we took the dinghy in to pay and didn't realize, at first, that you had to go to the front desk of the hotel to settle up. The woman at the desk was terrific. I'm sure most are paying hundreds per day to stay there in a hotel room or slip, but she treated us like royalty for our $40ish mooring fee.

If you stay on a mooring, you're better off taking the dinghy to the public dinghy dock to go into town. It would only be a 10 min walk from Brown's, but the public dock is right in the heart of the action.

Mid-coast visit, 2014-09-20
Captain: , Camden ME (465)

This marina is well run and when combined with good access to town, clean showers, nice restaurant, wifi, cable and friendly staff it,s a great place to visit wheather on the dock or on a mooring. The area offers much to boaters and well worth visiting. We plan on visiting when we return north next year.

Close but not too close to everything, 2014-09-14
Captain: , Boston (60)

Short walk to town from this great spot. All the usual amenities. Does have some large yachts there as they did when we were there. Nice restaurant attached and great dock crew.

Easy access in Booth Bay, 2014-08-13
Captain: , Wickford, RI (587)

One of the prettier busy bays in Maine. First come, first serve moorings. Took an outer mooring for $50 for our 45' trawler. Plenty of choices to eat nearby including the restaurant at Brown's Wharf Inn.

Trip to Maine, 2014-07-26

Great Marina. Very clean, friendly staff, and a great restuarant. This is our fifth visit, second by boat.

Great stop in Boothbay, 2013-09-06
Captain: , Corpus Christi,Tx (1569)

We stayed 3 days on a mooring. Close to everything. Friendly staff and good restuarant. Even had a courtesy car for us to provision at Hannafords (about 2 miles away) as the bus stopped running after Labor Day. Had lobsters at the Boothbay Lobster Wharf which were good.

A Very Fine Stop, 2013-07-26
Captain: , Port Aransas, Texas (998)

The moorings are close in and the facilities are nice and close. The on--site restuarant is very good and the staff very friendly. A short dinghy ride to a gem of a harbor town. Two dinghy dock in town at Tug Boat Marina and the town dock. So welcoming that we spent three nights.

Captain: , Hilton Head (130)

This place is what we dream of - a wonderfully helpful friendly dockmaster, fine facilities, short walk to office, restaurant (really good!) and marina facilities. A bit of a walk to town but we dropped our dingy and it was a breeze. This place is what cruising is all about! Highly recommended!

Excellent Stop!, 2012-07-25

Easy walk to town and a regular trolley in season,

Not too far from town, 2011-07-13
Captain: , Cassiopea A (507)

Browns wharf and the neighboring Carousel Marina are a pleasant 10 minute walk from the footbridge to the center of town. We usually stay on a mooring at the adjoining Carousel Marina, but we've had nice breakfast at the Brown's restaurant.

Too far from town, 2010-04-18
Captain: , York, ME (1971)

This is a very nice marina, but it's just too far from town. There is a shuttle, but it's inconvenient. For us, the reason to visit Boothbay is to stroll around town. You really can't do that from here. On the other hand, if you just want a nice marina with a choice of restaurants right there, go for it.

Good place in Boothbay Harbor, 2007-06-07
Captain: , Kiawah Island, SC (152)

This family owned and run marina/hotel is a wonderful place. The dockmaster and his staff couldn't be any friendlier. It is a short walk into town.
