Everything you need, 2016-09-19
Captain: , Catawba Island Ohio (530)

Nice clean docking, restrooms and showers. Top notch facility right in front of visitor center. With so many good options along this section of the canal it's a tough choice. The volunteers working at the visiter center met us and grabbed lines. When we went in to register, $12 for a 35', we asked where the closest grocery was and they offered us a ride to walmart, a little away from the core of town. We took them up on their offer and on the way back they stopped to get a bottle of wine for another boater. They were Doug and Cathy driving their own car and did I say they were VOLUNTEERS. The town was of course nice but my memory will be of the people. The town is lucky to have such fine representatives.

Great Stop, 2016-09-15
Captain: , La Crosse, WI (627)

$8 with electricity for the night. Fazool's has great food at reasonable prices. Clean restrooms/showers. Friendly volunteer staff. Nice down town.

As good as it could get! A must stop!, 2016-08-07
Captain: , Willsboro Bay Marina (2401)

Great town to visit on foot and /or by free use of bicycles. The volunteers are extraordinary. Very hospitable and helpful people.
Really enjoyed our stay and memories.

very nice town, 2016-06-24
Captain: , Fort Myers (700)

No issues at all. 2nd visit after a cruise to Tonawanda (and back). bbq grills, picnic tables, Byrne dairy ice cream, pretty town, friendly people. pretty water front area. 5 star if they had a mid to large size grocery near by, but alas. good wall, cleats, 30a power, water hook up upon request. forget the pump out, as it is a 15ft dock right next to the bridge. if it was 10 ft longer, maybe just maybe I could get my trawler to it, but it's not. Go to Holly for a pump out, nice set up there.

Nice town, farmers market on Sunday mornings, 2015-09-17
Captain: , Cape Coral, FL (1476)

Upate 9/7/15: Not much new to add, same great place. Stayed two nights visiting friends in the area. Used the washer dryer - the laundry room was air conditioned and since it was 92 degrees outside, doing laundry was a pleasure. Great volunteers!

Original review: We stopped for one night. Nice town and welcome center, and were met by a volunteer who gave us key cards for the bathrooms. The fee for overnight was $12 for dockage, 30 amp service and water. We had breakfast at the Brockville Diner just a few blocks away, and on Sunday morning we went to the farmers' market on Market Street, just a block away. Wonderful fresh locally grown produce. Very nice college town, and a very nice stop.

clean safe place to stop, 2015-09-10
Captain: , lockport. ny (50)

I had to leave my boat here during the week while i went to work. felt much more comfortable about it with the volunteers here all day and cops prowling all night.
ewifi slow and only works if you are in one of the two spots directly infront of the visitors center. free bikes to borrow during the day!

Nice Welcome Center, 2015-08-15
Captain: , Hilton Head, SC (909)

Great Stop - can provision, get a tatoo, have dinner out. We ate at Fazool's (Italian) and it was solid. Friendly volunteers who man the Welcome Center. There are combination bathroom / showers - clean. As well as laundry room. Note that the keycard they give you for access needs to be pushed in against a spring detent to work, unlike what I was accustomed to in hotels.

This is a great stop., 2015-06-05
Captain: , Illinois (2422)

This stop is a favorite. They do charge a fee but its worth it. Wifi is a bit slow. Restaurants are close by.
They have a great boaters welcome center manned by volunteers that enjoy their work.
Great stop!

Nice stop on the Erie, 2014-11-04
Captain: , Key Largo (5304)

Town seems to be doing well, lots of stores, bars, etc. One of my favorite stops on the Erie.
Dockage in 2014 for 38 ft. was still only $12
Staff very friendly and helpful
Free bikes
4 bars no waiting
Laundry wash $2 dry $1 right on docks

Good stop on the canal, 2014-09-21
Captain: , Catawba Island, OH (523)

College town with several good options for food and drink. One of the cheaper stops on the canal.

Great stop over, 2014-07-16
Captain: , Sandusky, Ohio (392)

Wonderful place to overnight. 8 stands with power and water. We paid $12.00 for 36 foot boat. We were on stand 8, eastern most one. No noise from town or bar. Good showers and laundry at dock level of visitor's center. Great town to wander about. Highly recommend a stop here.

Quaint College Town, 2014-07-07
Captain: , Annapolis MD (258)

As we travelled from Spencerport to Holley, we stopped in Brockport. They have a very nice wall with services. We walked the main street and had a good meal.

Good stop very friendly , 2014-07-01
Captain: , Palm Beach Gardens, FL (1897)

Enjoyed one night in Brockport the bar, ice cream store, post office, bike shop and restaurant were close by.
We parked at pedestal #2 and the bar crowd was busy till after 1:30am even on a Monday.
Next time will stop right outside welcome center which would be quieter and also where the wifi is stronger.
Great power and water

Another good stop, 2013-08-25
Captain: , Castine, Maine (2964)

The facilities are nice with power, water, showers, and laundry. We were greeted as soon as we pulled to the dock by a friendly and helpful volunteer from the welcome center. It's a nice walk through town. There are even free bikes you can use. This is a town that is telling boaters they want you to come. You really should stop in.

A nice quiet place with excellent services and friendly people., 2013-07-30
Captain: , St. Catharines (498)

The docking facilities are awesome. Water, Power, showers, etc. Some good restaurants within walking distance. The town has a movie theater within walking distance too. Good wifi.

Another Great Canal-side Town, 2013-07-27
Captain: , Britt, Ontario (691)

Good docking in front of Welcome Center. Helpful volunteers, bikes to borrow, picnic tables and a charcoal grill.

Enjoyable place to stay, 2012-09-09
Captain: , Rochester NY (310)

We spent a few nights on the south wall with water and power for our 39' trawler for only $12/night. The town has numerous shops that my wife loved and we had some very good chicken wings at the Stoneyard grill next to the canal.

Nice but....restroom facilities are a drawback, 2012-08-06
Captain: , Brewerton, NY (489)

Very nice dockage at nominal charge, with very attentive Welcome Center personnel. Free bikes are nice for local rides in town or on canal trail. Surprised by the "single stall" restroom/shower set-up, which makes for some long waits. Lock on second of two restrooms was broken, with a carboard "in use" sign being used for privacy.

Good Place to stop and explore, 2012-07-24
Captain: , Michigan City (349)

This is a good stop you will not regret. The welcome center is manned by all volunteers that are very helpful and enthusiastic. A nice college town with restaurants close by. There is a Dollar General and a Rite Aid Pharmacy a short walk across the bridge. The welcome center has free bikes, wagons and other items you may need during your stay. There are only 2 restroom and shower facilities, but are clean and well maintained.

Very nice stop with the Best Bathroom/Showers/facilities we've seen., 2011-08-01
Captain: , Gulf Breeze, Fl (6909)

Classy well maintained waterfront stop with all cruiser needs to include Captains lounge with computer/wifi, coin laundry, reading room free coffee. Historical Walking tour of the Village..

Comfortable place on the Erie Canal, 2011-06-22
Captain: , Stratford, CT (658)

Volunteers staff the Visitors Center where you sign in, pay and get your bathroom key. They try very hard to make you feel welcome.
Everything is very well kept

Brockport on the Wall, 2010-09-26
Captain: , Williamsburg, VA (745)

Wonderful stop between two lift bridges. Eight dollars per night including electricity. Clean restrooms and laundry. Easy walk to many nice restaurants and other shopping facilities. Good place to reprovision. They were having a rubber duck race while we were there. Great fun. If it fits you schedule this is a must stop.

A great place to stop, 2010-09-01
Captain: , Whitehall, M (228)

This is a must place to stop. The info center staff is very friendly and was willing to take us by car for shoping,

Very nice village, 2010-07-08
Captain: , Newport, RI (10275)

We're hear during a record breaking heat wave, so touring the area wasn't high on out list. However, once the sun had retreated we took the self guided walking tour of the village and were amazed at all of the architectural styles that exist. In reality, the nest examples exist on Main St or very near by, but it's good to get off the boat and stetch your legs.

If you want to explore the area by bike, they have free bikes that you can use.

Note that the W bridge seems busier than the E bridge.

Also, the rib/BBQ place has been siezed, so forget about that.

Brockport Town Wall, 2009-08-03
Captain: , St Louis (671)

Another great stop along the Erie Canal, we paid $10/night for a 40ft boat, includes 30amp electric, water and nice restrooms and shower. Nice town with many shops and restaurants. The book store on Main St. 1 block south is excellent and the BBQ restaurant just west of the bridge the south side is very nice.

Brockport, 2009-07-29
Captain: , Newtown, CT (245)

A great ribs restaurant right by the wall. Good showers and bathrooms. The town tries hard to appeal to boaters. We were met by the mayor on our stop there in 2005.

Nice Erie Canal Stop, 2009-05-21
Captain: , Huron,OH - Little River, SC (630)

Tie up is along a wall, as is common on the Canal. Nice facilities with restrooms and showers. Bikes and wagons available.
Directly in the middle of a downtown area, most ammenities are quickly available.
Beware the "Brockport Mile"..... everyone will tell you the Walmart is only a mile away and an easy walk. The reality is it is about 3 miles one way, 6 miles 'round trip.
This place is worth a stop
