Reviews for Bristol Yacht Club
Is this heaven?, 2017-09-14
Captain: , Chocowinity NC (140)

Felt like it! Bought vessel from a member, and the staff and members were so wonderfully nice and accomodating for the days/nights during which I outfitted the boat for trip home to North Carolina. Views, facility, programs observed (and the cannon announcing "colors" every day) were great, but it is the graciousness of the members and staff that stand out the most. Bristol is also the most authentic lovely seaport town I've ever seen, great restaurants, too!

Very Friendly staff, 2017-07-07

The dock is easily accessible and the staff are great. It is a relatively short walk to the town or Colt State Park

June 2 & 3, 2017 - Terrific Hospitality, 2017-06-06
Captain: , Milford Ct (105)

The Bristol Yacht Club offers warm hospitality, clean showers and very efficient launch service. The mooring fee was $40 per night through Dockwa.

We were warned that a strong southerly in this harbor would not make for a comfortable evening.

Just a skip down the road, you can enter into Colt State Park for all that it offers.

The East Bay Bike Path travels 14.5 miles from India Point Park in Providence to Independence Park in Bristol. It is a very scenic path to sea stretch legs.

The center of Bristol is straight across the harbor and has many excellent options for breakfast, lunch & dinner. Check out the Bee Hive that sources locally & changes with the seasons. You can order online and they will have it ready including offering breakfast options all day.

The Herreshoff Marine Museum/America's Cup overlooks the harbor in the heart of Bristol too (

Great Nights Stay, 2016-10-30
Captain: , Edgewood RI (73)

They called to confirm reservation for mooring, when I radioed in upon approach, the launch led us right to our mooring. Kind people all around and plenty of places to eat in town. Launch takes you over to town too.

Outstanding Service, 2016-07-21
Captain: , Newport, RI (265)

Made us feel welcome and at home. Anchored in Bristol Harbor for the 4th of July. One payment to the launch and they provided us with timely service thoughout the busy holiday weekend. Once the crowds left they were able to move us onto a mooring ball and we had full access to the club. They really made our holiday enjoyable. Thank you for such a wonderful experience, we'll be back!

Great Place, 2015-07-22
Captain: , Green Cove Springs,Fl (104)

We took a mooring here and everyone was great. Needed a pump out which was unsuccessful and to my surprise they showed up the next morning saying there was a probelm on their pumpout boat; pumped us out at no charge and refused a gratutity. Bristol is a first class place. Biked around town and through Colt Park. Don't miss this one!!
This is a great spot

Good Overnight Mooring, 2014-10-25
Captain: , Greenwich Bay, RI (111)

With prevailing SW winds, the mooring field is exposed. Launch drivers where great and they agreed to stay late so we could finish dinner ashore.

Great fireworks spot, 2014-08-11
Captain: , New Smyrna Beach, FL (143)

We rented a mooring for a few nights and had front row seats for the annual Independance Day fireworks. Unfortuantely, we'd decided not to brave the rain for the parade. Nice facility, attentive launch drivers, and a good harbor.

No fuel dock, 2014-04-17
Captain: , Bristol, RI (139)

The review above is mistaken. There i no fuel dock at the Bristol Yacht Club. There is no fuel dock in all of Bristol Harbor.

Typical Yacht Club, 2012-08-02
Captain: , Freeport, CA (30)

The pendants for the mooring we picked up had been in the water for a long time. They were covered in barnicals. The launch operators are very friendly and responsive. The heads are reasonably clean and maintained.
1 Mile walk to town, but the launch will take you over.

Very accomodating but far from town and exposed, 2012-06-26
Captain: , Boston (619)

We had our annual Cape Dory rendezvous at the club and they could not have been more accommodating. The downside is that the town of Bristol is on the other side of the harbor, although the club launch will take you and pick you up. The wind roars in the afternoon and there's no protection from the prevailing southwesterly.

Pleasant harbor, but exposed , 2012-06-12
Captain: , Rumsey Island (330)

Grabbed a guest mooring at Bristol Yacht Club. The club was very accommodating and the launch driver took me to town and picked me up later. Herreshoff museum is a must-see!

However, this harbor is exposed to southerly winds, which is what we had on our visit.
