Reviews for Bridge Tender Marina
Convenient, 2016-07-07
Captain: , Little River SC (365)

Great Dock hand. No shower facilities. Close to walk to a couple of restaurants. Easy on, easy off face dock. Price is lowest in the area.

Is the ealrier reviews clim, this marina is best used when you just want a place to tie up for the night. I 've used it twice.
However on my last visit a few days ago, I added duel. The fuel price was $2.75 per gallon. That is $0.50 more then any other fuel I've purchased in the last 10 days. It is $0.85 more then my lowest price, Oriental Marina and Inn.
I'll never go back there and would not encourgae anybody else to stop there

Dinghy Dock, 2016-06-05
Captain: , Key West, Florida (256)

We only used this marina as a place to drop off trash and to bring our dinghy to access Harris Teeter so we didn't rate any other qualities. Easy 15 minute walk to the HT and West Marine. Part of the walk doesn't have a side walk.

We asked the dock hand if we could leave our dinghy there and he said yes and "to put the dinghy as far in on the northern most finger pier where the keep the dive boats". This is a fine location and its kind they allow this without a formal charge but do not go as far as the fish prep station... when the tide goes out your dinghy will be aground sitting on left over fish carcasses and broken beer bottles on nasty carolina mud. Besides that its a very convenient location to save some time.

Great restraunt but the marina staff left a bit to be desired. Dock hnd wouldn't follow directions. Marina could use a llittle TLC

Underwhelming, 2015-11-25
Captain: , Oriental, NC (160)

The best thing was the young men that helped dock us. We came in with three boats. No cable, no internet (they gave us another marina's passwords and it didn't work either), the bathrooms were in the restaurant when the office was closed and they didn't act like any of this mattered. The only other "plus" was convenience. On return trip we stayed elsewhere.

Easy in and out, 2015-11-19
Captain: , Beaufort, NC (521)

This is a good place to spend the night. Right on the waterway. Ties are on the face dock as is fuel. As noted restroom and showers close with the office. WIfi service is week and very slow. The food in the on site restaurant is pretty good. The staff is very helpful and friendly. Everything is in good shape but just a bit behiind the times. If you have some transportation, you can find just about anything that you need in a 5 mile radius.

Okay, but access to a mechanic was outstanding, 2015-10-23
Captain: , Buffalo (832)

Boat US referred us to Nate Davis and he managed to repair our cracked exhaust riser within 36 hours; we appreciated it and were able to continue on our way. Floating docks are nice; showers and bathrooms close at 5 pm. No recycling. If you are on the outside transit dock, no wifi access. Watch the currents because they have to snug you together on the transit dock. We were lucky to have a boat behind us volunteer to watch our lines as we departed.

Full price, no amenities., 2015-09-03
Captain: , Rochester, NY (100)

We payed $2/ft for dockage on the canal face. The staff was very helpful for tie-off and fueling.

There are no showers, and basically no heads (office hours, a walk away). We weren't offered wifi.

The restuarant assoicated with the place was great.

A dock to tie up at..., 2015-08-15
Captain: , Honolulu (531)

Stayed 7/27-28. $1.75 per foot. Had some engine issues so had to stay over two nights. Convenient to tie up on the face dock, staff wasn't very friendly, seemed to be geared to charter fishing boats, no showers, head closes at 7 p.m. On the plus side, the restaurant was fantastic.

Safe place for a weather window, 2015-02-20
Captain: , Williamsburg, VA (745)

Another bad weather day made us stop for a safe place to tie up for a couple of days. Helpful dock hand on a windy day. Small bathroom with no showers. Clean. Lots of sport fishing boats in off the ocean. I guess that's how they can get the price they do for minimal facilities. Easy walk into town for groceries and what not.

19 Dec 2014 Stay, 2014-12-20
Captain: , Colonial Beach, VA (590)

Incoming dock hand was professional and knew how to tie up a boat. We did not get a summary of what was available and were not told that wifi required password. I forgot to ask. At $1.85/ft I should not be the one to remember. They have a restaurant but we did not use. Leaving on the 20th asked for help as current was very strong and I was close to another boat with current pushing me on to that boat. Dock hand this time was not friendly, although professional; it was llike he was waiting for a tip. For the price, I'll not go back.

Basic Dock, 2014-11-16
Captain: , Clayton, NY (645)

Bathroom is in the office so it is closed after 7. No showers. Not a lot for the money you spend. The staff is very friendly.

Location and availability, 2013-11-10
Captain: , Annapolis, MD (266)

Three stars may be slightly generous but the truth is, they don't offer much more than a secure place to tie-up. The dock hands were most helpful when landing and departing. Lacks shower facilities but I've one aboard so no problem there. The place could use some capital improvements but after three nights at anchor I needed to fill the water and stretch my legs.

Bridge noise was no issue for us, wakes weren't bad as the hourly drawbridge opening limited larger vessels passage to every 60 minutes and the no wake zone meant there was no rocking and rolling from passing boats. Not a luxury location but they don't claim to be and charge accordingly.

Good location, 2013-10-27
Captain: , Pasadena,Maryland (510)

Stayed for two nights, as other marinas in area were booked. No showers, used toilets in office. Located right next to bridge: bridge was a constant source of entertainment.
Now the good: Harris Teeter grocry store and West Marine are within a 10 minute walk- can get there without going on main road.
On site resturant was very good.

No Showers for $1.75/ft, 2012-10-24
Captain: , Vero Beach, FL (842)

Title covers the main deficiency. Bridge is quite noisy. This facility was mostly full of big sport fishermen when we stopped 10/23/12. My mistake, I should have anchored elsewhere.

August 2012 Stay, 2012-09-23
Captain: , Bluffton, South Carolina (327)

Noisy due to the bridge. Swift current and a lot of traffic on the weekend. Staff was friendly and capable. Overall, facility is dated. Tripped 50 amp hookup 2 times before borrowing 30/30 splitter from Marina staff.

Older marina, short of facilities, good staff, 2012-09-01
Captain: , Wilmington, DE (780)

Convenient location right on ICW but noisy since it's next to an old bascule bridge that clangs loudly whenever a vehicle passes on it, which is often. No showers, older and somewhat worn docks and faciities. Restaurant is good, but pricey. Strong current, but staff very helpful getting in.

Convenient tie-up in storm., 2011-12-09
Captain: , Rosenhaven, MD (92)

7 Dec 2011. Heading south and winds increased to 20+ knots, gusting to 30. Elected to put into marina and ride out the storm. Marina is first one on starboard once through the bridge. Dockhands did great job in getting us tied up. That night winds topped 40 knots with rain. We felt more secure here than being on the anchor.

Rate was $1.75 a foot if you purchase fuel. Otherwise the rate is $2.00 ft. Heads close at 6 PM and there are no showers. Affilated burger joint below average with quality of food.

Not much to offer, 2011-11-17
Captain: , Galena, MD (1826)

Previous post characterizes facility well. Strong current coming south requires attention to turn into the current to dock. Dock hands fair and not handling mid ship spring properly. Expensive for the services offered; no showers, bathrooms open/close with the facility. Shame on me for not reviewing previous posts before coming in. Won't happen again.

Pricey for no services, 2011-04-27
Captain: , Mullica Hill, NJ (688)

We stayed one night and would only stay again if anchoring out is not a choice. For $1.75 you get a dock and power. The bathrooms close with the office, ther ar no showers and no pumpout. If traffic noises bother you the bridge noises will certainly.
It is only a 3/4 mile walk to the Harris Teeter Market and West Marine.
For another %0 cents a foot you get a shower accross the way and the priveledge of paying $10.00 for a pumpout.
I think Wrightsville Beach is no longer criuiser friendly.
Oh and the fuel price was about 50 cents higher than elsewhere.

nice stop bike ride to west marine, 2011-04-26
Captain: , Westport,Ma (700)

nice location quick bike ride to west marine and other stores , Harris tweeter etc. We ate at the resturant it was very good as well. Fuel a bit pricey. Wake from boat traffic was not an issue at all.

convenient, 2011-04-06
Captain: , Stuart FL (805)

Stopped on 6 April to wait out a front coming through. Wind was 20-25 knots blowing toward the bridge. The marina is quite close to the bridge and with a single screw trawler with high bow was difficult to turn to get back to dock. Staff was quite helpful in getting us tied up. I think Marina is a bit pricey but much less expensive that the marina across the river. Without the high wind would have had no problem getting to dock. Would stay here again.

Good Stop for the night, 2010-10-15
Captain: , North Myrtle Beach, SC (3210)

Great resturants nearby, along with shopping. No heads on land, pricy too, but a great convience as one travels north/south.

OK overnight stop, 2010-05-29
Captain: , Ft. Lauderdale (1134)

Very convenient stop over headed north or south. It's on the south side of the bridge which opens only on the hour. Staff is knows what they are doing and make you feel welcome. Three boats arrived at the same time and they handled us well. All docking along side. Traffic noise from the bridge. Facilities need a upgrading.

Basic ammenities, 2009-09-26
Captain: , Block Island (1679)

Just basic ammenities. Most marinas around here are focused on big dollar sportfishermen and barely tolerate transients.

Bridge Tender Marina, 2009-07-01
Captain: , Daytona Beach,FL (172)

We went on a dive with Aquatic Safari based out of Bridge Tender Marina. The dive was great and the dive staff experienced. The marina personel were very helpful and let us check out late since the dive did not arrive until 2:00.

Very small dockage, 2009-06-16
Captain: , Wrightsville Beach, NC (368)

Very small dockage on west side of ICW.

A place to stay, 2007-09-11
Captain: , Punta Gorda, FL Cape Cod, MA (513)

Docks were OK, but restrooms closed at 8 P.M. Restaurants in walking distance.
