Reviews for Bridge Harbor Yacht Club
Great service!, 2016-10-20
Captain: , Shoreacres, TX (10)

We have overnighted there for the past few years while returning from the Harvest Moon Regatta. They have always been extremely helpful and friendly but this year they went above and beyond. First of all, they had assigned us a slip that was a little tricky to get into, but they had people there to help us. When we bought ice, they brought it over for us. Because their fuel dock is closed for renovation, the owner Howard gave my husband a ride to a nearby gas station to get some diesel. Not only that, but he gave all of us a ride to and from a nearby restaurant for dinner! All of this while they were extremely busy handling all the transient boats returning from the regatta! (no, there's nothing special about us, we don't have the biggest, most expensive boat and we are not buddies or relatives with anyone there, we just politely asked and they offered to help!). We know the facility still need a bit of improvement, but Howard is very invested in making the necessary upgrades and we really look forward to seeing this place next year.

Work in progress, 2015-09-24

This marina appears to have been awesome at one point. I discovered this place when I made plans to sail to Florida from Texas.

Previous owners let the facilities go downhill. The new owners are doing a great job of rebuilding. Every time I go back, the place is in better condition than my last visit.

While dining and shopping options are limited, the staff are great, the facilities are clean, and the prices for long term stays are hard to beat in the area.

Over Priced for Texas, 2015-03-22
Captain: , Kemah, Tx. (145)

Pretty run down, and $1.50/ft. is expensive for the area. Had a hard time getting out in the morning because we were on the bottom with 5' draft.

Entrance channel silted in, 2015-01-22
Captain: , Seabrook, Yexas (32)

I tried to get into the marina on 1/20/2015, but the entrance is so silted in that it was impossible. I draw 4'6".

A Welcome harbor, 2014-12-24
Captain: , San Leon (10)

Had engine trouble coming back from Harvest Moon 2014 in September 2014. The staff here was friendly and helpful. There are not too many services, but there are clean showers, a convenience store with decent prices on ice, and a sometimes open cafe. Slip rates are typical, at $1.50/ft, but was able to negotiate a monthly rate when more major repairs were found to be needed. It appears the management are working on the place, there was a lot of construction going on at the time. I would go back, or spend the night there again.

Shabby - so sad, 2013-06-02
Captain: , Port Aransas, TX (362)

This used to be a very nice marina but has become shabby in recent years. We stirred a lot of mud with a low tide - depths in the 6' range. Tied up at the end of the fuel dock as the staff told us to stay away from the slips near the building (too shallow for our draft). Once we got off the boat, we realized we were behind construction flagging, apparently due to the concrete dock being in a state of partial collapse. Yikes!

Restrooms were clean and staff was friendly and helpful, which partly made up for shabby conditions. But we probably won't stay here again.

Bridge Harbor Marina, 2013-03-13
Captain: , Houston, TX (523)

We stayed there for a night as were delivering our yacht from Corpus to Clear Lake after the 2012 Harvest Moon Regatta. Very nice folks. Transient docks were non-floating, and the piles were on the outside which made it a bit of a challenge, but it was nice overall. No place to eat nearby in November and the bar at the marina did not seem to be open.

Waited after hours..., 2012-07-02
Captain: , Oklahoma (209)

The harbor master was a great guy. He even had someone wait on us after hours until we got in. Prior to leaving he even contacted us and gave me his personal cell phone number in case there was a problem. My only complaint was that the swim up bar had become a mosquito breeding ground and this made staying outside after dark. Someone please dump a couple gallons of bleach in it. This is a well protected harbor with no wake from the ICW making it into the transient slip area. One cruiser had told us of problems with the water and power but we had no complaints (except the mosquito's). I figure that was more a factor of the time of year (June) than anything else. The area was quiet and the people were super nice. It's a little isolated so everything has to be reached by cab which I thought was a little expensive. btw... the beaches were great also. Our kids had a ball!

New management, 2012-05-19
Captain: , Port OConnor, Tx (628)

Pulled in May 18 for the night. Everything up and running. Office personal very friendly along with the manager. Would have rated this time a 5 but was charged the regullar price but had to take a slip with no water or elec.

Move on it there is choice., 2012-04-15
Captain: , Corpus Christi Tx (411)

Been there several times. Not a good experience ever. Only positive is it is a place to stop after an offshore trip from Port A. Be sure and check polarity on the power pedestals. We experienced reverse polarity.

WOW! See it to Believe it!, 2012-03-28
Captain: , Fourchon, LA (10)

When I was there, it looked like a refugee camp. People were living on the docks and in the parking lot. There was even livestock on one dock. There is no restaurant, fuel, store, boatyard, nobody on site for 3 days. There was a shantytown built on the end of one dock and abandoned trucks in the parking lot.

I have not seen anything like this on this Continent; only on the horn of Africa. Keep moving.

Fuel Dock Closed, 2012-03-04
Captain: , Port Isabel TX (640)

We pulled in anyway after calling and no one returning our call. We found all the pumps with bags over the nozzles. We spoke to a person on the dock who said that there was no fuel there. We did not try to find a slip for overnight as it appeared they were not open for business. We went across the ICW to Surfside Marina for fuel and slip.

Great Pizza Delivered!, 2012-01-14
Captain: , Fort Myers Beach, FL (100)

We stopped here for one night back in November...not a bad place for a one nighter. But the best thing was ordering a pizza from "All Star Pizza"! The price was good, pizza was great...and huge! It fed the two of us for three meals, and they delivered it right to our boat!

This place is a dump, 2011-05-28
Captain: , Seabrook, TX (68)

Okay, if you have no other options. I would rather anchor out than stay here again. Facility is not well maintained and staff will not help you dock. I came in with 20+ knot winds and had even called ahead but got no help docking. Looks to have been a nice facility probably 20 years ago. Too bad it has not been kept up.

Ok over night stop. 01-15-11, 2011-01-16
Captain: , New Buffalo, Michigan (600)

Pulled in Sat. at 5:45pm not a sole around. Had called ahead and talked to Mingo the dockmaster for a slip. He took credit card info. Told us pull in any empty slip except the fuel dock. Slip $ 1.50/ ft. Grill closed although sign said open to 7 pm. Fuel is $ 2.99 a gal.

Ok stopover, 2009-10-26
Captain: , Belton, TX (94)

An ok overnight stop but very little in walking distance. As of October 2009 the main showers were under construction leaving only a single shower available (atlhough it was ok other than the line).

Catered to the Harvest Mooners, 2009-10-09
Captain: , Seabrook, Tx. (33)

We called once we got under the Surfside bridge. Even though it was after 8pm Mingo and staff were waiting for us and helped tie off dock lines and the grill stayed open until 9pm on Monday.

Bridge Harbor, 2009-07-21
Captain: , houston, tx (393)

OK stop on the ICW if no othervoption is available. The facility has been run down for years. It never seems to be clean or vibrant. The slips are a bit rough for sail boats, as the intermediate piling is set up for large sport fisherman boats. Mosquitos are tough here, bring screens and repelant. Depth in the inner basin area(nearest the office) is very shallow, apprixametely 4 feet at low tide.

Room for a catamaran, 2009-04-23
Captain: , Captiva (163)

We have stayed at this marina twice and were put in a wide slip which is used for their fuel dock. Our beam is 24' 7" and we had plenty of room. We couldn't reach the shore power, although water was available. The area is nice, but nowhere to walk to. Transient fee was $65 with no extra charge for catamarans. Very easy access from Gulf and also ICW. Showers and laundry available.

Average Marina, 2008-10-22
Captain: , Houston, TX (1409)

Mostly caters to offshore fishermen. Fuel and a small ship's store/grocery on site. No bars on site or within walking/biking distance. Grill now operating on Fri., Sat. and Sun. only. Transient slips mostly small fixed finger piers (6') with pilings to tie the bow to when backing in.
