Reviews for Brewer Yacht Yard at Mystic
Typical Brewer Quality, 2016-08-31
Captain: , Honolulu (712)

Helpful staff, large facility, good location to dinghy into Mystic...otherwise a little remote. Around $90 with Brewer Cruisers Club card for a 36' inn August 2016.

Poor customer service, 2016-06-11
Captain: , Hampton, Va (270)

Called to make a transient reservation on a Sat. Was told that we can not take weekend reservations for a boat larger than 38'. We are 44''. Was told secretary does not work on weekends and she make reservations. This is the first time I have ever had a problem with a Brewer's Marina and I have been using them for over 20 years. This Marina needs to up their game!

Very nice marina..., 2016-05-28
Captain: , Newport Beach, CA (410)

One of our favorite stops since we left Seattle. Good Internet, quiet marina, friendly and helpful staff. Moderate walk into town, but easily made. Came on board to check out a loose connection for the bow thruster and wound up replacing two hoses on my Naiad system that was still leaking. Not a Naiad service center, but they were not hi-pressure hoses, and they found the connection and changed the hoses within two hours. Very productive stop... Don't miss Abbott's Lobster in the Rough while you're there. Take an Uber for $10.

Never know who is calling..., 2016-05-15
Captain: , Lake St. Clair (177)

Didn't identify myself in any way, just wondered the diesel fuel price...if I couldn't get some delivered while getting repairs...WAS SHOCKED AT THE RESPONSE, very rude & since the college students aren't working yet, go get your 600 gallons somewhere else....OKIE DOKIE!!

First Rate, 2015-11-11
Captain: , Portsmouth, RI (70)

Had to get a tow in due to some engine trouble. Ned the manager met me at the dock after hours and said he'd have Paul (their mechanic) take a look in the morning. Next morning I had a diagnosis, and after parts arrived a fix. Sue the office manager was also great, answering any questions and makeing suggestions of places to visit while I was there. In sum, a professional staff who went out of there way to make my unplanned visit as enjoyable as possible.

Another Good Brewers, 2015-09-25
Captain: , Wickford, RI (550)

Pleasant, professional, helpfull staff. Good location to visit town - the staff will suggest taking the dingy but the walk is a nice 20 minutes; Uber also operates there now. Pool and hot tub were clean and appreciated. All facilities were clean and neat. Another fine Brewers Yacht Yard.

excellent stop, 2015-09-09
Captain: , Port Credit Yacht Club, Toronto (252)

We e-mailed the day before to check availability and got confirmation promptly. The marina staff are great, the pool is nice and they even have a hot tub. Our stay was short but much appreciated.

best laundry room , 2015-09-01
Captain: , Green Cove Springs, FL (60)

Stopped on our way west along the sound. Another great Brewer Marina. Great staff, great location to visit The town and the seaport. The laundry room was spacious, clean and inexpensive. Easy dingy ride to town and the seaport.

Need a dinghy, 2015-08-03
Captain: , Westbrook, CT (40)

We spent this past weekend at this marina. it is about three quarters of smile from any restaurant which normally is no problem but when it's 90 plus degrees you look a bit bedraggled by the time you get to the town restaurants. marina was quiet. staff was helpful but there did not seem to be many around. in fact for the 2 days we were there we only saw two. location is good, just below both bridges. however to get around easily you really need a dinghy. many places are accessible from the water and have tie ups.

Best Service Possible, 2015-07-15
Captain: , Ocean Gate,NJ (17)

We arrived just as a massive downpour came over. We pulled up to the first dock to wait the storm. We did have reservations at the marina. There was a man on his boat right in front of us (Ned). He came over in the downpour and tied us up and plugged in power. I mean it was a HEAVY downpour. Turned out he was the Manager of the Marina. I can't say enough about the stellar service. It was late and they were about to close but left the laundry open so we could get that done also. If they ever need a favor from me consider it done!

Great Staff, 2015-01-12
Captain: , Newport, RI (360)

Lisa and Ned are great - easy floating fuel dock and good prices - Brewers offers great transient discounts (and fuel discounts too) so make sure to check the website, I think they call it the Cruising Club...This marina is a bit of a walk to town through a residential neighborhood if you dont have a dinghy

Great Marina, Great Staff!!, 2014-10-11
Captain: , WARWICK, RI (62)

Stayed here many times and the staff has always been more than helpful. The facility and pool clean. They dinghy ride into town or beyond to the Seaport is fun and easy. Walk to town as well. Mystic is a must and Brewers is a great place to start from.

Great place, 2014-07-16
Captain: , New London, CT (51)

Stayed two nights in July and loved the facility. Great head/showers, and kids loved the pool.

They did mess up our reservation and had us coming in a day earlier. Luckily I called to confirm the day before and straightened it out and they were able to accommodate the correct dates.
Only suggestions would be to run a water taxi to Mystic town dinghy dock.

Very Nice Marina, 2013-09-15
Captain: , Monmouth Beach, N.J. (20)

We stayed as a transient for 2 nights in early Sept and our stay was fantastic. Excellent staff, nice docks and a beautiful pool and hot tub. This marina is just south of the railroad bridge so you are closest to town without contending with the bridges. Its a short dinghy ride to the town provided dinghy dock. We will definitely be back.

Pretty good stop, 2013-09-01
Captain: , Marthas Vineyard (506)

Mystic is always fun for a day or two -- nice to see the Seaport and the progress on the restoration of the Charles W. Morgan which will be cruising the area next summer. The Brewer's yard was fine with friendly service, and the 2nd night discount Brewers offers made this marina more affordable than the others in the area. Has a pool which we didn't use but might be nice on a hot day. Our walk to the Seaport or the drawbridge shopping area was 15-20 minutes, and it was good to get the exercise. Not much around for provisions, but some good restaurants and ice cream.

Excellent Marina, 2013-08-14
Captain: , Glen Cove, NY (108)

Nice facility, but not quite as luxurious as some other Brewer Marinas. However, the staff makes up for it. They're courteous and helpful. Short walk to Mystic Seaport and town.

Clean, professional yard, 2013-08-07
Captain: , Mashpee River (507)

Spent three nights here. The employees were all very professional. The mechanic went out of his way to assist us with a small problem with our diesel. The facilities were first rate and the price was on par with neighboring marinas. Would stop again

Great Facility, 2013-07-16
Captain: , Essex (50)

Had a great couple night stay this past week. We are Brewers customer and used our free stay card. Facilities were exceptionally clean and well cared for, staff was very accomodating. Short dingy ride to town dock and great little town to explore with some exceptional resteraunts. Will be back.

Excellent stopover, 2013-06-29
Captain: , Essex, CT (1675)

Brewers Mystic holds to the expected quality of all Brewer yards. Ned, the General Manager very accommodating and looks out for his visitors. The town of Mystic is always charming - and is an easy walk from the yard. Try the Oyster Club for dinner when there. Fantastic food and a very engaging owner - Dan.

Friendly staff, 2013-06-04
Captain: , Warwick, RI USA (100)

We tied up to the fuel dock, not open yet in early May. It was blowing hard, 50 degrees out and we were happy to get out of the Sound and get plugged in so we would have heat overnight. The staff was very nice and surprised to see a transient vessel. Of course, the facilities were clean and in good condition. We keep our boat at a Brewer's and get several days' of free dockage at other Brewer's as part of the deal, so I don't know what their dockage fees are.

Gerat Spot and Full Service, 2012-10-15
Captain: , New York (209)

Like all Brewer's Marinas, this is a well-run establishment. Easy to navigate, right off the rail bridge, and has a fuel dock/pumpout. Big, clean showers and heads and friendly staff. It's about a ten minute walk into town, so not as close as other yards. A big Y is up the road about a mile and half.

Great experience, 2012-08-10
Captain: , Dunedin, FL (7374)

Good directions and lots of help coming in. Floating docks in great shape, but watch where you walk as several boats that were bow in had their pulpilts well over the walkway. Showers clean, inexpensive laundry. Didn't get to the pool but was told by locals it was great. Nice place to walk your dog. Close to Amtrak station, dinghy ride away from downtown and Mystic Seaport.

Excellent Marina, 2012-07-05
Captain: , Deep River, CT (250)

Like all Brewer Marinas, this is top notch. We have stayed here many times over the years and never had a problem. This particular visit, I experience an electrical problem in my boat. The mechanic was able to quickly repair my problem at a very reasonable cost. We have walked to town a few times when the Admiral decides I need exercise( it's about 1 1/2 miles), but mostly we use the dingy.

Great stay in Mystic at Brewer's Yacht Yard, 2012-07-04
Captain: , Kittery Point, ME (111)

Cruising down from Maine and decided to visit family in Mystic, CT. Looked at several marinas and picked Brewer's Yacht Yard. GREAT service started with dock hands waving me into the correct area and then being on the dock to recieve lines. Just got better from there when I was given a Brewer card and told that subsequent nights at any Brewer facility would be 25% off their normal price. So we stayed 2 more nights at 25% off an already competitive rate. Laundry facilities and rest rooms were spotless and the personnel just couldn't get any better. Only a 5 minute dinghy ride from downtown Mystic. One word of caution: Fisher Island Sound (between mainland and Fisher Island) has several lobster buoys. The current runs near 3 knots around the full moon and the buoys are 3' to 5' below the surface. We hooked one that wound around the shaft (despite our big spur cutter) and we had to anchor up before we were in a mid channel rock pile hazard. Great help from Boat US who towed us to their buoy and sent down a diver to clear the mess up. Rest of week was great at Brewer's!

Captain: , Mystic, Ct (279)

Nice yard and friendly staff. Good mechanics they did a great job repowering my boat. The walk into is a little long but you can get a taxi at the train station at the begining of Broadway extension, which is a short walk from Brewers. Nice clean pool if that is what you are looking for.

Brewer Mystic just south of Train Bridge, 2011-07-05
Captain: , Wickford, RI (584)

Friendly Staff, nice location for dinghy ride into town. Brewer gold card members get 10% Fuel discount. Charcoal (no gas) grills available for transients. Clean pool/hot tub and shower facilities. Wireless internet available but was slow. Rumble of the commuter train and horn from the bridge at opening and closing noticeable but not bothersome.

Wonderful town. Nice marina., 2010-06-06
Captain: , Newport, RI (10275)

The marina is a good hike from town, but just take your dinghy and explore the river. The town has a nice, safe dinghy dock right by the bascule bridge. There are other public landings further up river. Be sure to spend a day at Mystic Seaport. We're not big fans of historic villages, but this was very good.

Several restaurants are within a 3/4 mile walk from the marina. We really enjoyed the Pita Stop which serves Mediteranian food and is BYOB.

Okay, except for the location, 2009-03-09
Captain: , Nantucket and Miami (67)

On the plus side, the docks are nice and modern, the bathrooms and other facilities are clean and well taken care of. Unfortunately, the marina is well out of downtown Mystic. If you don't have a bike with you it is a long walk into town. Taxis are scarce and the staff at the marina could care less. I won't go back.

Excellent Facilities and Staff, 2009-01-06
Captain: , Newport, RI (249)

Brewer marinas have good reputations and this one lives up to expectations. Staff is courteous - facilities include pool, hot tub, cookout area. Basic supplies, repairs, and techs. Access to Mystic (town and Seaport Museum) is available and enjoyable by dinghy or a short taxi ride; walking possible but is a good hike. Railway bridge is close, but provides more entertainment to watch than annoying noise. Very nice area and well protected.

Nice spot, 2007-02-02
Captain: , Stratford, CT (146)

We are Brewer "members" so we often seek out their facilites. This one is typically clean and well run. They have a nice pool and snack bar, but it is a long way to town by road. The better alternative is to take the dinghy up river to the town dinghy dock. This is the heart of downtown with wonderfully quaint shops, restaurants, and of course the famous Mystic Pizza.

With young kids I might opt to go farther up river to the Seaport, but it is very convenient to be South of the bridge.
