When entering Sterling Harbor, especially at low tide, favor the west side of channel and when turning right into marina give beach a wide berth. In both cases there is much shoaling.

Reviews for Brewer Yacht Yard at Greenport
Friendly staff, well-maintained, awesome AC in the showers, 2016-08-13

Pluses all around. Bar a bit of a dive but who cares. Pool was nice, if full of kids. Had to shoehorn the boat into the slip but the dock hands were quite excellent.

We arrived after an 8 day journey north with a varied list of mechanical and rigging needs. All were attended to immediately, efficiently, and with perfection.

All staff, including dock hands, attentive & conscientious.

Reservations made a week in advance slip when I got there. Shoe horned me into someone's slip. Billy's by the Bay was terrible! Service was awful too!

Nice marina with all the amenities, mostly new docks, pool, walking distance to Greenport. If your having work done, get estimates first, check their work carefully and give them your wallet.

Disrespectful staff!, 2014-04-16
Captain: , Norwalk, CT (30)

In my experience, the head of the marina and the head mechanic are unfriendly and resent the "rich" boaters. Stay far away!

The old axiom "You get what you pay for" stands true here. This is not the cheapest place in the area. BUT, if you like clean, air conditioned heads/showers, if you like easy access to the local town,(hourly shuttle service to Greenport), if you like friendly courteous staff, if you like floating docks that are in good condition if you like to be treated like you matter... Then Brewer's is the type of marina you are looking for. We stayed at the cheapest marina in the area the night before @ $2.50 per ft plus electric. The dock staff were excellent, the office staff so so. The bathrooms were stifling. Not only were they not air conditioned, there was no ventilation. This was mid July. Arrived at 6 pm and were told we had to leave by 11 am the next morning no exceptions. The slip we were given was not large enough for our 36' sail boat. For the extra $50 bucks I should have gone to Brewer's!!!

We Frequently Spend Weekends Here, 2012-02-04

We have found this Brewer marina to be completely acceptable, We visit Greenport about a half dozen times a season and we split our visits between Mitchell Park and Brewer's Greenport (use dingy for 2 minute ride to town dingy dock which is 5 min. walk to center of town). Facilities are clean, docks are in good shape and staff has always been helpful.

Quiet Marina, 2011-04-14
Captain: , Pilots Point (466)

Visited in 2009 and 2010. Each time found the place very quiet with little activity. Similarly, the restaurant didn't have much life. Van into Greenport was very convenient. Their club room is nicely appointed, which was much appreciated when we spent a day there waitng out poor weather. Find their fairway markings confusing and each year ended up turning down the wrong fairway.

Good place as last resort if nothing else available, 2010-09-05
Captain: , Robbinsvill, NJ (148)

This marina is very highly priced for what it has to offer. The facilities are clean and easily available. Floating slips are convenient and easy to get into and out of. Food and service at the Tiki Bar are terrible.

Expensive, 2007-04-15
Captain: , New York (88)

It's Brewers so everything is overpriced, clean and slick... but don't expect competant engine work here. Very protected... they acquired Stirling Harbor Marine which has a fuel dock. Both marinas have restaurants and oodles parking w/ huge tavel lifts. Manager Mike can be very crabby, despite the fact that he is a wooden boat sailor.

It's what you would expect from the corporatization of the marina...prices are up and charm is gone... and the work is no better.
