Reviews for Brewer Capri East Marina
Great marina, great restaurant., 2016-09-25
Captain: , Cape Cod, MA (179)

Stayed on 9/23/16. Called ahead to request dockage at Capri East. On arrival we were directed to Capri West. A request for East was quickly granted by Rob who was working both E & W alone. Reason for request was that the restaurant Marco's is at the E marina. But learned later that a dockhand would give you a lift to the restaurant from the W. Marina if you didn't want to walk. It's really not that far. Apparently Brewers likes to put transients on the West side, where, I understand, the shower facilities are somewhat better. All facilities are first rate. The restaurant is excellent with both an outdoor and enclosed porch in addition to the dining room in case you want something more serene if the live music is too loud.

HELPFUL AND FAST, 2016-01-01
Captain: , Wicomico Church, VA (524)

This harbor is one of the most cruiser friendly that we have frequented in our 16 years of live aboard boating. We had not needed the services of a marina while here before until bringing our current boat home to VA the first time. We seemed to be having a fuel problem. They took us right in, a mechanic appeared, found a minor problem, fixed it and we were ready to go. We all laughed about the fact I had never written such a smallt check for marine repairs before. Then we were told to just stay at the dock as long as we wanted to get to the East river.

So nice to be able to promote this facility and their staff.

Capri East/West Marina is one of the finest facilities with a super location in the NYC area. The staff and management keep the place looking "Bristol" the location provides great access to both the sound and NYC. LIRR is but five minutes in Port Washington and is as quaint a town as you'll find. Steve takes a great deal of pride in the marina and it evident throughout the facility. We had the pleasure of transiting here for the past three years and will undoubtedly return again next year.

Great welcome, 2013-09-09
Captain: , Portsmouth, England (190)

Some of the jolliest staff we have come across. Stayed in east side and paid great rates as stayed over a week. Steve the manager is very helpful and welcoming, also helped with getting some parts. Showers clean, warm and lots of water. Laundry with 2 washers and 2 dryers. Buses run to station twice an hour if you want to catch Long Island Railway into city, if you have subway card for week you can use on local bus or will need change.

Top Notch Service, 2013-08-14
Captain: , Amityville, NY (282)

We lost thrust on our port engine while transiting the East River off Hunt's Point. Advised Brewer's of our problem--they had slings in the water when we arrived and hauled us immediately. We suffered port shaft failure and lost our prop. Steve Wachter, the yard manager, set us up on the hard with power and a stairway for our Lab. My spare shaft and props were installed early the next morning and we were underway in less than 24 hours. Every one we met was friendly, professional, efficient and accomodating--not sure that 5 Stars is enough for this Top Shelf operation!
PS: Had a great Lobster Roll at Butler's Flat, Capri West.

Prompt, efficient, professional repair, 2013-06-27
Captain: , Epilogue (326)

We had the misfortune of striking a hazard at City Island and dinged our prop on our Kadey Krogen 42 while finding a mooring.

We called Steve Wachter at Brewer Capri. He operates this facility and it is truly a well oiled machine.

Every person we had contact with was totally competent and friendly. We were hauled, prop removed, re-launched (we have cats on board who are better off on a mooring), and expertly taken back to the mooring. The prop was sent out for reconditioning. Two days later, we were taken back to the lift, hauled, prop replaced, and on our way.

Great service and I appreciate it more than some because I used operate a boatyard on the Chesapeake for 25 years.

Top notch marina, 2012-05-20
Captain: , Lottsburg VA (127)

Stayed one night and found all as advertized except pumpout not yet operational , so usedexcellent harbor pumpout boat service. Everyone at marina very helpful and friendly - very nice facilities - cafe not open for season yet on 5/19/12.

Very Helpful, 2011-10-07
Captain: , santa barbara (696)

Not quite as modern as Brewer West Marina but dockmaster and staff were very accomodating.
We were towed in late Saturday before July 4 due to loss of two impellers- I had only one spare, dockmaster went out of his way after hours to locate another impeller (which we borrowed from another boat) - and agreed to let us ship a replacement to him after we left. Lower rating is due to the docks not the staff.

where you want to be in Nassau County, 2011-01-26
Captain: , Greenport, NY (156)

Best location if you wanjt to do anything on W sound. Easy access to East River, Westchester/CT. Busy area but lots of space. Profesionaly run (and priced accordingly). Good restaurant on site. Easy access to Port Washington ("Port") with all the shoreside amenities you could need. Good staff. Pool. Great wide docks.

Great people, 2010-11-26
Captain: , Falmouth MA (180)

Made an unscheduled stop here and were treated so well I would definitely go back. Yes it is expensive but it is NYC. Steve (GM) went outof his way to help us out. Same for all the other staff we dealt with. Good facilities and a short walk to shopping.

Great Place to Stop, 2010-07-07
Captain: , Westbrook, CT (296)

While we called ahead for reservations again, it almost was not necessary as they always seem to have some transient slips available. This is definetly the high rent district with lots of mega yachts and nothing but large mansions on the shore. Lots of conspicuous consumption. The docks and fingers are well maintained and lots of docking helpers for landing. All amenities are available including pool and restaurants and fuel and pumpout. Great place to stop for entering or leaving the East River around Manhatten.

Nice Marina, Friendly Staff, 2010-06-09
Captain: , Newport, RI (10275)

We pulled into Capri West (which is where the transients go) to wait out some weather. The staff was very friendly and the docks were in OK shape. They appear to be replacing the docks with newer docks as the current docks are splintering.

The BBQ place at the marina is just OK. If it wasn't raining, we would have walked to Mi Ranchito which is about a 10 minute walk away which is probably quite authentic based upon the neightborhood makeup. There's also an Italian restaurant just past that as well as a bagel shop.

Highest fuel price on East Coast, 2008-06-04
Captain: , Old Saybrook, CT (1021)

A very nice, well-protected marina near the entrance to the harbor. In our round trip from Connecticut to Key West in 2006-2007, had the highest fuel prices we paid on the East Coast of the United States.

A Comfortable Stop, 2007-09-13
Captain: , Charleston, SC (53)

This should really be titled Brewer Capri Marina. The Marina is divided into East (no transients) and West (many transients). We stayed at Capri West and found the marina very well equipped for transient stays. Water taxi makes getting around the Port Washington area very convenient...grocery store restaurants, etc
