Reviews for Brewer Bruce and Johnson West
Another great Brewer's experience, 2016-10-10
Captain: , North Palm Beach, FL (450)

Arrived here 9/27, stayed over a week and we cannot say enough about the courtesy and professionalism of the staff here, especially Tom! Docks nice, facilities clean and restaurant good. Beautiful city and nice location up the river - we will be back!

Thank you, Brewer's!, 2013-06-04
Captain: , Warwick, RI USA (100)

We came in here after a long day from Sandy Hook, early May, 2013. There was nobody around on Saturday after 5 pm, so we tied up to a t-dock. We chose Brewer's because we keep our boat at a Brewer's in RI and it was the first marina you come to. The wind was howling and it was pouring. The directions from the Brewer's website and Active Captain were both helpful. I emailed the yard manager to let him know who and where we were. Next day (Sunday) we were able to fuel up -- the staff member on call came out for another boat and took care of us, as well. The bathrooms were clean. What a nice harbor -- I want to move to Branford now!

We walked to the Super Y grocery store, about 2 miles.

Great staff, 2012-09-26
Captain: , New York (209)

Knowlegeable and helpful staff. This serves as the main fuel dock for Brewers as it is on the channel. Easy in and out. Main marine is just up the river on the East side and is where you should go for a transient slip.

Current can be tricky, 2012-06-26
Captain: , Stamford (130)

This was a great spot for two overnight stays and we'll be back in the future. Just watch out for the tides, they can really make for an exciting docking experience especially if the wind strong. We called ahead and they had 3 guys waiting to help us dock, which we did with only minimal embarassment. There didn't seem to be much wind protection and it was opposite the current which seems to be moving at 3 to 5 knots, but it was tough to tell how fast it really was...it probably only seemed that fast! The gas dock was on the other side of the river from where we transients were placed, but was easy to go to on the way out (on the right on the way out).

Seemed to have a happening pool/restaurant area.

B&J West satalite of B & J Marina, 2010-07-21
Captain: , Ft. Lauderdale (1134)

The west yard is primarily for boats 40 ft and under except for two "T" heads designed for 60 to 70 footers. New docks and electric service. Solid 240 power and good water pressure. B&J fuel dock is located here.

Showeres and rest rooms are modern and immaculate. Grounds are well groomed and clean. Easy dingy access to main marina for pool and resturant.

B&J West is adjacent to Branford YC. The marina is primarily for seasonal slip holders. Most transients go the main marina, a couple of hundred yards up and across the Branford River. Need car or bike to access town and stores, the only thing preventing a 5 star rating.

Newly Renovated, 2009-12-17
Captain: , wickford, R.I. (222)

Bruce and Johnson recently purchased and has oerhauled the marina with new docks, power, cable, water, etc. and regroomed the grounds as well. Users have access to the main Brewer yard across the river.
