Reviews for Brentford Dock Marina
Cheap with friendly staff, but poorly maintained, 2015-08-13
Captain: , London, UK (295)

The staff are friendly and helpful, but only if you ask directly. They don't seem to take an active role in looking after boats moored here. We noticed one motorboat's warps hadn't been set properly and she had banged a nice ridge into her transom as she bumped back against the pontoon.

There are two toilets, one of which has a shower. The floor is so disgustingly dirty that as soon as you step out of the shower, your feet are black with dirt. That being said, they are always well stocked with paper and soap and the sink and toilet bowl are usually clean, so it's only really the floor that lets the facilities down for cleanliness.

The finger pontoons are very narrow and are nowhere near buoyant enough. We have to take it in turns to walk down to the end, to board our boat, or we risk getting wet feet. Our mooring lines are the only thing stopping the pontoon going completely under when we're carrying a heavy load of shopping!

The office hours have to coincide with high tide (lock useable +/- 2 hours hw) for you to be able to get in or out and during the winter, when the office hours are shorter, this can be quite inconvenient.

Transport links are quite good - you can get the train to Waterloo, there are lots of local busses and the tube is only a short bus journey away.

Like I said, it's cheap, so if you're looking for a bargain, Brentford won't disappoint!
