Reviews for Boston Waterboat Marina
Upscale and convenient, 2016-11-08
Captain: , New Castle, NH (70)

Our latest visits in October confirmed that Waterboat is one of the best facilities for visiting boaters. The shower rooms with separate toilet and showering rooms for each boater were clean and well appointed. The staff were knowlegable, competent and accomdating and the small size and convientlocation make it a very nice place to spend time in Boston.

Great views. , 2016-10-08
Captain: , Winnipesaukee NH (20)

We stopped here for 3 nights. Staff is great. Facilities are clean. Interesting part was dinghy dock location - it's between floating docks and a rock wall on the east side. All together nice stay. Traffic on the river gets little annoying at times but it quiet down at night.

A Great Fall Stay in Boston, 2016-09-25
Captain: , Lynn, MA (35)

BWBM is the best boating venue in Boston. Close to shops, restaurants and provisions. The facilities are always in good repair and clean. The crew at BWBM is first rate. John was on duty during our stay. We will always come back.

One of the best marinas, 2016-09-12
Captain: , Marblehead (40)

Stay here everytime we sail into boston harbor. Cant beat the location. Staff is friendly and helpful. Facilities are clean and new. No launch service but big long dingy dock to accomadate everyones dingy. The location is excellent with walking distance to northend and all of downtown. Boston Harbor is a busy place with all the ferrys coming and going and Boston Waterboat is in the middle of it all. Dont let that scare you away. Ferry service stops early and nights are always quite and pieceful.

Great Location, 2016-09-06

Outstanding facility. Well organized and run. Great location.

Excellent Base to Experience Boston, 2016-08-10
Captain: , Cincinnati, OH (290)

We stayed here (mooring balls) on two different occasions this summer, and found it to be the perfect place from which to explore the city. Others have discussed the advantages of the great location, so just a few other points. Online reservations (via Dockwa) worked perfectly both times. Staff comes out and checks the moorings during the day and curls the lines on top of the balls, so the lines are typically free of the usual slimy green mess. Restrooms, showers and laundry are modern, and clean. Access to the marina is via a key card, and security personnel are present after hours. As others point out, the staff is friendly, courteous and helpful. Perhaps best of all, the dingy dock is less than 1 min ride from moorings.

June 2016 stay, 2016-08-09

We will be back again..

Great Expereince, 2016-08-08
Captain: , Quincy MA (20)

Terrific place to pick up a mooring for a night. Beautiful view, great access to Boston and the North End, great facilities and curtious staff. Highly recommended!

Great staff!! Called ahead for a mooring on Friday, I was told they were full, but I recived a call a few hours later - the guy had tracked me down from his call log (I never left my number) and said they had a mooring open up for the night. Went way out of his way to help. Love this loaction and the folks that work there.

Perfect Boston Place, 2016-08-08

Best value and location, 2015-10-16
Captain: , Montreal (251)

Stayed on a mooring for 4 nights. Good facilities and the downtown location make this an ideal stop.

Not getting much better than this at this price!, 2015-09-08
Captain: , Haarlem Netherlands AMEL 54 (402)

Got a mooring for our three day stay which turned into a 5 day stay. Perfect location. Well organized marina with very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Location, location, location. Boston is a perfect stay. As mentioned earlier in the review, we wondered what the noise was until we realized it was the underground. Weird! The staff went out of its way to ensure we got stay longer. Called us in the afternoon to ask us to come back as a mooring became available. Had anchored accross the river (see review) but came back as for USD 50 this is an unbeatable location! We will be back!

great downtown location, 2015-07-31
Captain: , City Island New York (210)

you can not get closer to downtown and the north end. small but very well maintained marina..bathrooms and showers brand new...get a slip or ball and enjoy the city!

Great In Town Location, 2015-07-22
Captain: , Mt. Sinai, NY (243)

Stayed here for 5 nights in early July. Step off the boat and you have everything that Boston has to offer within walking disatnce. The marina is just steps away from the Marriott if you have out of town guests, and do not have room on your boat for them! Very secure facility with awesome views of the city skyline at night.

Great Downtown Location, 2014-09-18
Captain: , Portland, Oregon (496)

We stayed 4 nights and found the moorings to be just what we needed to be able to see Boston at an affordable price. The dinghy dock is a little tight getting in and out. We found that the river quieted down very nicely at night and the slight rolling didn't bother our sleep particularly after walking the Freedom Trail and visiting all the great historical sites. Still $50/night on a mooring ball for a 41 to 50 foot boat.

Well worth the price to visit Boston, 2013-12-16
Captain: , Crockett (610)

Stayed on a mooring for 4 nights to explore Boston and pick up crew. The field is very rolly due to the ferries and commercial traffic, but got over it quickly due to the location. Did not use the facilities, but seemed clean and well maintained, the staff was adequate.

Pretty cool to be right in the heart of down town; steps away from Quincy Market and other historical sites. We did all you could fit in during our stay; The Freedom Walk, The USS Constitution, a few Museums and of course all the great bars downtown.

Great Down Town Stop, 2013-09-15
Captain: , Wrightsville beach nc (180)

Bit rolly like a lot of down town marinas in big cities, but excellent location for looking around Boston. $4 per ft for 40ft inc power mid September 2013

Excelent choice for exploring the city, 2013-08-14
Captain: , PooleUK (933)

Although the wash from the harbour can be fairly constant, the WIFI limp and incositent, the marina is a perfect location for exploring the city of Boston. The Staff were accomodating and very helpful, with good local knowlege.

Convenient, great view, 2013-07-26
Captain: , Yorktown, VA (952)

We had a mooring at Waterboats. Owners are very friendly, helpful folks. The mooring field is very rolly with water taxis, boats, coming and going right next to your boat. Amazingly, they all use the mooring field as a short cut. It is a spectacular view and so convenient to downtown, restaurants, bars, and the North End. We especially loved the North End with 60+ Italian restaurants within a few block area. L%u2019Osteria was awesome. Also, an Italian specialty shop and a few great bakeries. One is open 24-7. Nice little market close, Golden Goose. Marina has 1 washer and 1 dryer. If you do stay there, don%u2019t think you are crazy when you hear trains. There is an underwater tunnel just under the mooring field for trains that come and go all day and most of the night. After we knew what it was, it did not bother us.

Boston Harbor Location, 2012-07-29
Captain: , Littleton, NC (416)

This is a great location to moor or dock. We stopped during the July festivities and sufferred some Hull damage out in the harbor from some debris. The folks helped us find a place to have our catamarran serviced (Not a small feat considring our 22 foot beam) and accomodated us during a very busy, overbooked, and crazy seasonal event. Their location next to the aquarium, marriott, chart house, ferries and downtown is great.

Stay in the middle of Town, 2012-07-08
Captain: , Midland Ontario (660)

We stayed 4 days at the docks and immediately felt at home. The essentials are all here and staff are friendly and helpful. Being downtown, we felt the security was good. The amazing town of Boston is a walking town and this marina puts you in the middle of it. Plus, the marina gave us a front row seat for the 4th of July celebrations on the river. Wish we could have stayed longer.

really surprising, 2012-06-27
Captain: , north kingstown (341)

Took a mooring hear for 4 days while attending a meeting in Boston....Water was clean not dirty( like in song).. I enjoyed the excitment of water shuttles tour boats..Capt's were courteous to boats on moorings.... Cheapest waterfront stay in Boston.

Marina staff and residents were very helpfull ... got us key fpr our after hours arrival... Helped with ice ... easy access to T for transport to all of Boston..

Give taking your boat a thought if you go to Boston and stay here

Awesome location!, 2011-08-14
Captain: , Beaufort SC (81)

We stayed on a mooring for 3 nights. It is rolly up till 9.00 pm with ferries and water taxies entering the basin. BUT the location cannot be better. You are right in the center of historic Boston, also within 100 yards of a great produce market. The harbour seemed clean and the boating activity made for pleasant spectating during siestas on the flybridge.

High Value, 2011-07-28
Captain: , Grasonville, Md (252)

We stayed 4 nights for $45/night. Best central location in Boston. The mooring field is rolly, at times very rolly, from 0700 till @ 2100 hours. Showers are small but clean; washer/dryer available.

Use the moorings - cheapest spot in town, 2010-09-11
Captain: , Key Biscayne FL (3049)

Its pricey for dockage but the moorings serve very well and are reasonably priced. No launch service

No better location for acccess to Bean-Town, 2010-08-23
Captain: , MA and Southwest FL (538)

There is no better location to get the "Boston Experience" than here. Long Wharf puts you in the heart of Boston's waterfront with easy access to;

New England Aquarium
Fanuel Hall Marketplace
North End
Whale Watch Tours
Starbuck's inside the Marriott

The marina itself is minimalist, but has all the essentials. The dockmaster's office and restrooms and showers are floating shacks on barges. There are 2 showers, 1 lavatory and washer and dryer. Facilities are clean and tidy. Rate was steep ($4/ft) by cruising standards, but reasonable compared to other marinas in the harbor.

Staff was helpful, but clearly focused on their mega-yacht patrons. While we were there 9 - 125ft plus yachts came in. We were a spec in a very large crowd. On Sunday they asked us to move to another slip so they could make room for more boats coming in.

The harbor is not very calm. The winds and boat traffic send swells right into the basin and Long Wharf has ferries running out of there all day long into the night. It starts out with the horn blasts at 7am and doesn't end until around 11pm. So be prepared for a noisy and bouncy stay.

The location far out trumped any other downside for us.

Lovely spot, 2010-07-02
Captain: , Boston, MA (172)

This is a very pretty and well-maintained marina in the heart of Boston proper. It's a reasonable walk from here to any site on the Freedom Trail, as well as the New England Aquarium and most Boston attractions.

Great location, pricey., 2010-06-27
Captain: , Sarasota (371)

Great location, close to park, Faneuil Hall. Lots of restaurants. Pricey at $4/ft + 25 for (1) 50A.
