Travel Lift, pump out at fuel dock, KO restaurant located in the shipyard.

Winter Haul-Storage-Launch Review, 2014-05-20
Captain: , Boston (621)

Kept my boat here this past winter. Pros: convenient to the tunnels/highways, industrial-size docks and wharves, good weather protection, big travel-lift, art installations, 24 hour manned security, and KO catering and pies on site. Cons: rolly slips, a poor system for scheduling and communicating about haul/launch dates, and the cranky guy who oversees that.

100% agree with Busting Boston, 2013-09-07

Jason and the staff are great - friendly and knowledgeable. An absolutely fantastic view of downtown Boston at a great rate (much less than the marinas across the harbor ). East Boston is a wonderful area - some really good local restaurants including Columbian, Indian, and Italian food. Two supermarkets are reasonably close; so is the Maverick station "T" stop.

A bit bouncy -- but who cares. However, one caveat: the 50 amp electrical service is 208 volts, 3 phase and not 240 volts, single phase. This means that if you use an isolation transformer, you will have 104 volts on each leg.

Other than that, this is a great place to dock.

Fuel dock is independent, 2013-08-13
Captain: , Portsmouth RI (730)

The fuel dock is managed by Harbor Fuels and is independent of the marina. It took us several phone calls and hails before we got the right number (617-720-3835) and then we were told this is a managment office and not the dock. Several hails on Ch 13 went unaswered and we discovered why when we docked on our own: the handheld was sitting on a pump unattended and no one was around. Once the attendant showed up, she was very helpful and refueling went smoothly.

Convenient fuel dock, bait and pumpout for the inner harbor, 2012-09-27
Captain: , Boston (331)

Friendly staff. Approach can be a bit tight and there always seems to be a boat at the dock already, so be prepared to wait. Bonus points for selling bait too.

This is a great marina and very well run by Pat Gately, the Manager & her staff. Pat helped us order equipment through their access to Kellogs catalogue which arrived the next am - there is no local chandlery in Boston we could find. We got a very good rate for a week's stay (a quarter of that over the water!). The heads aren't in the first flush of youth but very clean. Good laundry facility. And art installations all over the site!

The T is 7 mins walk away. A big Shaws is walkable, but taxi back if a big shop. A new cafe bar, G'Day doing evening meals run by Aussies has opened where Scups was, and is great. There is also a Boston institution, Santarpio's Pizza within walking distance.

Yes it is a bit bouncy but probably all of Boston is, and no plane noise oddly. We will definitely be back.

All of the reviews are correct with their comments. This is a full service marina with showers, laundry, fuel and repair. There is lots of activity on the finger piers as they have tables and propane for cooking. The floating slips are well maintained but no fendering is provided and the there is quite a lot of turbulence from boat traffic during the day. This produces a continuous roll but it is tolerable. You will need several fenders to protect your boat. The heads and showers are clean. There is a water taxi pickup at the fuel dock. Everyone seems to be friendly and helpful. It's a decent place to stay.

Working shipyard marina with a touch of history., 2011-08-04
Captain: , Andover, MA (90)

This is a gem in the heart of Boston Harbor. The floating docks are first rate and convenient to full marine services. It is adjacent to a large harborside park, and a short walk to public transportation. Unfortunately, Scups, the resident seafood restaraunt closed this Spring.

Great view, not so great neighborhood, 2010-07-02
Captain: , Boston, MA (172)

There are only a few neighborhoods in Boston where I would not wander around in the wee hours unaccompanied. East Boston is one of them. But that's not a reflection on the facility itself, which I would recommend. The adjoining Boston Boat Works has the facilities to work on larger pleasure craft.

Million dollar View, 2009-12-18
Captain: , East Greenwich, RI (660)

The view of the Boston Skyline is unbeatable. This is the most reasonable dockage in Boston Proper. Very Nice Staff. Clean Bathrooms and showers. Easy to take the water taxi over to down town or the north end. For some reason I have never heard a plane there.

Seasonal Dockage Reviewed, 2008-03-12

I have taken a slip Boston Shipyard for the last few years. While it will not be confused with a resort, the service is good, the docks well maintained, and the people are friendly. The slips are fairly priced compared with others close to Boston.

The docks have a million dollar view of downtown Boston. MBTA station Blue Line - Maverick is a short walk and the train ride to downtown Boston is under ten minutes. There is plenty of parking for you and your crew.

The marina abuts Logan airport but there is little jet noise.

Boston Boatworks provides repair services rather than the marina itself. The marina does operate a fuel dock.
