Reviews for St. Johns Marina and Resort
A work in progress, doesn't really cater to transients, 2017-02-28
Captain: , Port Aransas, TX (1006)

We just spent 6 weeks here and have mixed feelings about the place.

The good: staff is friendly and helpful, if you can find them. Nice new floating docks. Pumpout at each slip - self serve but the staff helped us the first time so they could learn how it works. Decent bar & restaurant on site with live music Wed, Sat and Sun afternoon; closes at 10 so quiet afterward; pick a slow night to eat as weekends are very busy. Okay places to walk dog. Great view of the river from riverfront slips. Easy access by dinghy to Blue Springs, Hontoon Island and other places to explore. Lots of area wildlife.

The bad: trash disposal is a work in progress, ranging from a long walk to dumpsters at rear of RV park to overflowing collection trailer closer to slips. Restrooms get cleaned sporadically. Lots of trash everywhere. Laundry is still under construction. No dock carts. Somewhat isolated - 4 mi. to nearest Winn Dixie, 6 mi. to downtown DeLand (worth going for shops, restaurants, Fri pm farmers market). Lots of boat wakes (No Wake sign so faded it isn't readable).

General comments: slow but usable, secure wifi. Usable ATT signal. Uber and Enterprise rental car are only transportation options. We were actually asked to email a photo of our boat before we could reserve a riverfront slip!

ST. jOHN'S RIVER RFESORT, 2017-02-27
Captain: , Altamonte Springs, Fl (140)

This marina is in a state of being totally redone. So, some of my comments below may be premature, as the issue items are sceduled to be repaired.
We spent 3 overnights here with 8 othedr boats. The "boaters" showers are in bad shape. Wife reported she wound up doing a sponge bath.
The docks, electricals and water are new and in good condition. The pump out is a do-it-yourself, with NO instructions posted.
The restaurant is a gathering spot on Friday and Saturday evening for <nice> bikers. They behave, however, their is no mistake about a Harley starting up. However, they seem to be out of there by 9:30 PM.
The restaurant service was slow. Parts of our group had their dinners served before other parts had their order taken. (Yes, they were advised well in advance of a large group coming there). The food qualitty was good. In all fairness, there had to be 200 other customers there.
The docks do not have cable TV or an antenna system. They said (working on it)
The marina is in a no-wake zone. However, were had some minor boat rocking due to careless boaters.
There is a small convienance store selling beer, and some small items.
After more of the resort gets finished, we will try it again and I will revise this post.

One saving grace was the dockage was $1.25/ ft. BTW, clubs/large groups get a disclount.

new marina!, 2016-08-19
Captain: , Key Largo (5340)

hard to rate them at this time, new floating docks., resturant and bar on property, but newly open.
can have bad cross current, 50 amp at each dock, No dock hands yet, no phone yet, etc.
I think it will be a good spot, but it's hardly open yet.

Soon to be open., 2016-03-16

This place is being redone. New docks and restaurant. It appears it will be completed soon.

Fresh off the Hook , 2013-10-27

Although the marina is pretty run down, the dockside restaurant is very good! Extremely friendly staff and owner. It's Sunday and the marina is Closed on Sunday and Monday ... Amazing. ...the restaurant is open and five boats arrived right behind us. Prices are good ... And their fresh fish dinner's are Very good!

Very run down and most buildings unoccupied. Have some boats in the marina but all facilities in very poor condition.
