Reviews for Blue Turtle Bay Marina
Now a Safe Harbor Marina, 2017-07-01
Captain: , Nashville (29)

Bart and Angela Bagsby were bought out by Safe Harbor Marinas. They have systematically increased the slip rates without adding any noticeable value. The tenant parking lots have been reduced in size and the ongoing infrastructure issues like low water pressure at slips remains unresolved. I have been here since 2008, unfortunately there doesn%u2019t seem to be any better alternative. Safe Harbor also purchased Drakes Creek Marina on Old Hickory reducing the amount of competition on the lake for reasonable slip rates.

Blue Turtle Bay is getting better, 2015-10-29

This marina is getting better and better as time goes on. The restaraunt is solid with very good food and not all fried. We love getting a Pizza to go and heading back to our boat. My only complaint is it is VERY busy on the weekend with up to a 2 hour wait for a table. No advantages for slip tenants and when they are booked there is no to-go ordering.

Still many live-aboards at this marina and people who like to party down. If you are looking for a quiet evening I suggest going further up the river.

The marina is run by a new company and they have a solid GM and day manager. Gas is expensive, but they have fast pumps and free pump out with fill ups. Water pressure can be hit or miss. Electrical is solid

since the price was $1.25 per foot. No showers or laundry! The transient docks were new with power and some slips with water. The grounds were clean. We probably won't be back unless more effort is made to serve transients. Too pricey for what is offered.

the new Blackjack Cove Marina [10/09], 2014-03-27
Captain: , Plantation Yacht Harbor, Islamorada, Fla. Keys (4686)

Update 2014 - service and upkeep have fallen-off considerably since opening. Restaurant has failed under several operators. In spring 2014, the restaurant is converting to a Sam's Sports Bar and Grill, an excellent local chain, so hopes remain high. However, I still had to lower the rating.

this is the former Old Hickory and Lakewood Marinas; new owners reportedly spending $9 million on reconstruction and new amenities, including the now open Black Pearl restaurant. Lots of new dockage for smaller boats for restaurant, with designated transient space for up to 50' still under construction; new owners vow to keep the lowest fuel prices on the lake. Currently space for large vessels alongside of former Lakewood docks w/o power, but perfect for visit to restaurant [ can be a little rolly with passing wakes]. Expect this place to be crowed on spring, summer and fall weekends with large outside, covered, and inside bar/dining. Expanding covered pavillion for live music on weekends beginng next spring. the first real "destination" marina on the lake.

No frills, but nice dock, 2013-10-11
Captain: , Chicago, IL (1056)

Stayed at Blackjack Cove for 3 months while preparing our boat to head to Florida. No shower or laundry facilities, water pressure can be dicey, but pump out at your boat on Monday's. Black Pearl restaurant has live music Thursday-Saturday during the summer, offers a great Sunday brunch. Bart & Angela are the onwers, call ahead on channel 16 for assistance with dockage. Note: management office is closed on Monday & Tuesday.

good stop for repairs, 2013-08-18
Captain: , Sheridan, Wyoming (50)

Our stay was for repairs, but it was a good stop This marina is not set up for a lot of transients but very nice people on and off the dock especially the owners. When we bottomed at the courtesy dock they moved us to a slip. If you need suppllies plan on going to town Great restaurant with good food. Worth a stop even if you don't need repairs.

Avoid this place, 2011-06-06
Captain: , Defeated Creek, TN (31)

A nice-enough facility but the people that run the place are total jerks. Gallatin Marina just upriver deserves your business much more than these guys.
