Reviews for Bitter End Yacht Club /Quarterdeck Marina
A world of its own, 2016-07-08
Captain: , Annapolis (262)

Got a mooring ball then went ashore. Lots of things to do to keep the crusing kids occupied. Dinner was great. Don't forget to get their'll have lots of questions about the place when you get home. Will definitely return on our next BVI charter.

Pleasant Resort Great Diving, 2016-05-24
Captain: , Melbourne FL (120)

There are about 50 mooring balls first come first served for $35/night which includes all access to the resort areas but an rxtra $10 to use the pool. Lots of hammocks and chairs and fun events like the beer race at 2pm on Tuesdays in dinghies for $80/boat.
The dive operation based here is VERY professional and friendly, they set ip all your gear and rinse it after and the dives were excellent. I went to Dog Island but they also do RMS Rhone on Tuesdays. Good bread and pastries from the shop after about 8.45 but no fresh fruit or veg - get these in Bucks Market at Gun Cay.

Very nice facility, 2016-04-13
Captain: , Safety Harbor FL (794)

We had lunch and dinner at The Crawl Pub. Good food, reasonable happy hour drinks and prices. There is a small grocery store on site. Free wifi. Go to the right and walk the trails

Quality experience, 2015-11-21
Captain: , Oranjestad (92)

Had slip for a night after returning from Anegada. Dockmaster Kendrick was quite patient and professional. Food/value better at The Pub than Clubhouse (new Chef and F&B Director recently hired). Clean, well maintained facilities; HUGE screen on side of dock office/showers with Sunday night NYG vs NE Pats game. Went to Buck's Market Gun Creek and boarded wrong ferry(!) and crew dropped me off anyway, laughing. Nice staff all over the property.

Nice Place, 2015-06-11
Captain: , Charleston, SC (135)

We stayed there over Christmas and the mooring balls were $35. They have turned the dinghy dock in front of the restaurant into a dock for their small boats only. So dinghy access is more limited now with very shallow space beside the dive shop or in front of the bar. They do have very nice facilities but they are not at all pet friendly. There are some good hiking trails accessible from the resort and they were very helpful in arranging for a FedEx delivery for me. Get there early for the best pastries from the bakery. The dive shop is staffed with some of the friendliest and helpful people I have ever had the pleasure to dive with.

Great Place for Fun, 2015-03-21

We spent two days here this year. It's a beautiful place, lots to do and great service. On premise bakery takes orders the dsay before and has excelent food

So Much to Offer, 2014-11-21
Captain: , Brooklin, ME (361)

For $30 you get a mooring with a beautiful view and access to a world class resort that offers something for everyone in the family, from yoga to kite boarding. True, these offerings are not included in the mooring fee (what did you expect?), but not everything is as pricey as suggested by some of the reviews. For example, at the water sports center the kids' activities are inexpensive, and the staff are creative and super friendly. The locally baked bread at the emporium market is delicious and far cheaper ($3 loaves) than the corn flakes imported from the U.S. The lunch buffet at the Club House offers a fantastic array of salads, breads, and other offerings - including unlimited grog! - for a reasonable $20-25. Dive and snorkel trips are very affordable. Meanwhile, all of the BEYC staff are unwaveringly friendly and helpful, creating a pleasant atmosphere.

Clear water and comfortable, 2014-11-19
Captain: , Buffalo (832)

We had ENE 20k winds plus, but the moorings were comfortable. Swimming off the boat was good because the bay is constantly flushed. We took the dink into shore for a pricey lunch, and the servings were fairly large. Moorings were $35 instead of the posted $30. Dinner was just appetizers.

Bitter Staff at Bitter End, 2014-08-25
Captain: , Milford, CT (10)

The staff was not the friendliest at the marina. I felt like I was inconviencing them when I had a question. Everything is way over priced. The pizza was the best in the BVI.

The one place in the world!, 2014-07-03
Captain: , Beaufort SC (273)

We enjoyed our stay in harbor but chose not to moor here because of the high winds. We liked the idea of free ice and water with a mooring ball! With the prevailing winds high 22 to 28 knots out of the west, we decided to move over to Behind Biras Hill and the Better end. It had an amazing view with good wind block. What an amazing stay. We stayed on the Yacht for the night but not before a lobster dinner and drinks on SABA rock. We can%u2019t wait to come back. We were celebrating our 30th anniversary in style. The one place in the world that reminds us how blessed we are to have lived.

Loved it!!!, 2014-01-12
Captain: , Gilbert AZ (20)

Me and the Admiral had Thanksgiving (2013) Dinner at the BEYC. Great food and friendly staff. Agree with a few of the other reviewers, it is pricey!! Stayed on a ball for 2 nights. Great place to move the legs. Had a great walking path. First class amenities.

Fun and Pricey, 2013-12-16
Captain: , Crockett (610)

Been here on a ball a few times and really like BEYC, actually got married here a few years ago, it's just too darn expensive.

Food is over priced, their market is crazy expensive, happy hour is just $4 Red Stripes and their water toys are too much unless you are all inclusive.

That being said we've had some fun nights at the Pub and their Pizza is quite good and I've spent quite a bit on fuel.

Refuel, Refill and Relax, 2013-12-09
Captain: , Seattle (312)

BEYC has it all. We moored on a ball and spent the day wondering around. A lot of shops, sites and get your t-shirts. They have a great breakfast buffet to fill you up before getting underway and a store for all necessities.

Lots to do and good food., 2013-05-14
Captain: , Apollo Beach, FL (928)

We had free moorings here and some other special deals as part of the Salty Dawg Rally. The yacht club was a great sponsor and we had a lot of fun there.

I know you just have to go there but....., 2013-05-11
Captain: , Pensacola, FL (121)

It's famous, It's pricey, It's way over-rated and It's rude. I suggest getting your T-Shirts and going somewhere else.
As strickly a marina review goes, the docks are nice and water and fuel is available. The docks are easily accessed.

Great place to stop for a couple of days., 2013-03-02
Captain: , Jacksonville Florida (417)

There's some shopping for the ladies, several resturants, towards dark, there is a place to play pool and socialize with other cruisers, which is always cool meeting people from other parts of the world. There's phone service as well as pretty much everything you'd need. If you need something from the adult beverage store, check on channel 16 because there's an outfit that will come to your location, and they have other stuff too.

Nice but not sure what the fuss is about, 2013-01-09
Captain: , Kingston (219)

This is a nice place to stop. The restaurant and bar both serve good food and drinks. The beach and pool are lovely, and the shower facilities were good. There are lots of boats and great people watching.

On the other hand, for the cost the food is unremarkable, you pay for the showers, the harbour is too dirty to swim in, and the marina market is expensive and not particularly well.

In the future I would just anchor and dinghy over.

Great Place to Stop, 2012-12-19
Captain: , Babylon NY (331)

The BEYC is a great destination. The area is very protected and the services excellent. You can also have them watch your boat with the Yacht Management Program while you fly home for a while. They are a sponsor of The Salty Dawg Rally which includes great discounts as well for ralliers. Salty Dawg Rally is free to join as well with many great features.

Must stop location if sailing the BVIS, 2012-11-18
Captain: , Hingham, MA (1068)

We spent a night on a slip here when we were on a week long sail island hopping the BVIS. The marina is exceptionally well kept and is very beautiful. The facilities are very clean and updated. There are two restaurants: one pub and one more formal (excellent food). The staff was very helpful and friendly. As we were there in offseason (November), we had no issue pulling up and getting a slip without a reservation and paid a discounted rate. Water and electric is available. Garbage can be disposed of for a fee. There also is a small store for provisioning. Overall, this was one of my top three stops in the BVIS.

A must stop!!, 2011-04-30
Captain: , Northport, New York (97)

Whats a vacation in the BVI's without staying at the Bitter End!! The family loves at least one night here to use the pool and water toys. Staff is great too!!

Jan 2011 Update, 2011-02-08
Captain: , Annapolis, MD (1156)

I delivered a boat to BEYC from Chesapeake Bay in Jan 2011. Most of the docks are gone due to storm damage last year. All the moorings are in place. Construction is underway but running on island time.

BEYC continues as it has been - very nice, rather high end, certainly expensive. The food in all the bars and restaurants is good.

There is a local ferry to Beef Island that drops you off within walking distance of EIS. Make reservations as soon as you can as it does fill up.

Bitter End Yacht Club RSK, 2011-02-05
Captain: , Parry Sound (1031)

Very picturesque mooring. Excellent facilities ashore (no issue with taking the dink to the dinghy dock). The fuel dock can get congested, so plan accordingly. The guys at the fuel pumps had their line tricks mastered and could flick a cleat hitch every time.

Excellent view all around the harbour.

Not really worth it, 2010-12-30
Captain: , New York, NY (470)

The moorings here are $5 more than the other places, which is ok 'cause the resort has really nice facilties. The down side is that the launch operator told us that we weren't allowed to dinghy in, which is bunk. He just wanted the tip. Also the fee for using the swimming pool is $10 (we passed.) We just stopped for one night and really didn't have time to avail ourselves to the beach.

Excellent facility, 2010-12-09
Captain: , Road Town (450)

Very good marina with excellent facilities. If you have young guests aboard, try for a slip rather than a mooring ball. It will be easier for the young ones to run! Very nice beaches and fresh water pool. Restaurants, bars and shops are great.

Great Beach Experience, 2007-02-20
Captain: , Huntington, NY (2310)

This is a great place to visit for three reasons, the beach, the bar, and the local stores adjacent to the Yacht Club ... and if you visit during Full Moon, expect to see sudden flashes of skin.

The beach is heavenly. Relax and enjoy drinks from the bar, while the kids snorkle in clear shallow water.

The bar is huge and is laid out in a way that is easy to meet people and trade stories (while on line for your drink).

If you can complain about anything, it's that the service is so slow, especially noticable if you just came from Saba Rock where service is their speciality.

Of the many shops adjacent to the Yacht Club, my favorite is the well stocked grocery store (that is well stocked in beer and wine), and an additional bar that sells Pizza ... only Pizza I have seen near a marina in the BVI, and its sooooo good.
