Reviews for Berwick Town Dock
Ok for one night; friendly locals, 2016-07-30
Captain: , Port Aransas, TX (362)

Nice new dock BUT lots of irregular stuff sticking out beyond it (pilings, old face boards, stuff). Had to tie up using fender boards, then had a hard time getting off the boat due to the low water level. Had to pick dog up and toss her onto dock. Once onshore, found some nice grassy areas to walk. Pavilions have swings and water fountains, including one for dogs. Water spigots had no handles. If arriving after city hall hours, call the police station at 985-384-7710 to check in. No charge but they like to keep a record of how many boats stay and from where. Police officer was very friendly and talkative. Wind and current were not very strong and we had plenty of depth for our 6' draft. Some barge traffic on the river causing wakes. Busy train track crosses river nearby - noisy!

The facilities are nice to spend the night. The current is strong. No fuel or electricity, but this worked for us, because it was a safe place to dock overnight on our way to Lake Arthur. The locals were friendly, they made small talk as they walked the dock and sat under the gazebo. Plenty of grass to walk your pets. I recommend this dock for an overnight stay.

We're still waiting on the tshirt...

Good place to tie up for the night. Nothing fancy and if the river is flowing it will test your driving skills. Docks and bulkhead are in very good shape.

We'll second the comment about Bayou Lagniappe... Great food and people.. And we bought the shirts.

decent place to overnight., 2015-11-24

We called the # on the sign after docking and Bubba came out and brought us T-shirts, gave me his business card and told us the restraunts in the area. FREE docking, no electricity but I am ok with that. There is 1 water spigot, ight use it in the AM.

Help from the major, 2015-08-21
Captain: , Naples, Fl (161)

We tried to get from Delcambre to Houma, but going upstream slowed us down too much to arrive before dark. So we opted to stayover in Morgan City. They are still redoing their dock, so we resorted to the other side; Berwick. When we arrived the major, Louis Ratcliff, happened to be there and gave us a hand docking. Way to go.
Indeed just pilings along a dock, with only water as a service. But save for the night.

Morgan City Docks were closed for repairs so we pulled in here. No services, but the docks and surrounding area is nice. We ate at a restuarant called Bayou Lagniappe (102 Bowman Street Berwick, LA 70342) and can't recommend it highly enough. Super, super good food! Everything was made from scratch- even the buns for the burgers and po-boys.

New pilings outside of the old killer pilings, 2013-07-02
Captain: , Canyon Lake, TX (346)

The Town of Berwick has installed new pilings to help protect your boat from the older pilings. Bubba Slaughter (Berwick City Manager?) is working on getting a pumpout installed on the dock.

And this marker is in the wrong spot. It should be between the Route 90 bridge and the SP RR bridge.

Berwick Town Dock, 2009-12-08
Captain: , Patterson, La (1441)

It is immediately across the river from the Morgan City dock.
It is along side and has high pilings so that it is easy to use.
There is a grocery store, super market, a few blocks away. The post office is not near at all.
There is one restaurant.
No services.
