Reviews for Belmont Bay Harbor
Our Favorite On The Potomac, 2017-07-10
Captain: , Beaufort, S.C. (640)

Floating docks in great shape, plenty of helpful people and a pretty harbor make this a relaxing stop. The spacious harbor is surrounded by attractive condos with retail space on the ground level. There is not much open yet, but it appears that more stores etc will be coming soon. A nice wide sidewalk beside the river was a great place to walk our Golden Retriever. The Wifi works and marina is gated with pass cards for excellent security. On your first visit they give you a very nice tote bag filled with goodies. Diesel was $1.99 today.

Stopped here for fuel on our way down the Potomac. Long narrow entrance from the river, which on a Saturday was very busy. Depth ranged from 7-12 feet . Dock staff was efficient, helpful and the diesel was 1.99/gal.

Not too much around. Convince store across the street. The area is currently being butt up with condos. What I did like was there was plenty of water coming in the main creek. Show 8'plus feet all the way in. Edson was the reason we gave it 4 stars instead of 3. He knew lots of history around the Potomac. After tying up and checking in he asked was there anything we needed. I said since you asked we could 2 cases of water. Well within an hour we had the water on the boat. How's that for service. Also he told us the price of diesel in DC so we filled up there at $1.99 per gallon. We will be back

A Great Marina, 2016-06-14

No doubt the best marina we have been in on the Potomac, and a nice stop between Coles Point and DC.
The fuel is good, staff very helpful and bathrooms very nice. And its only a 5 minute walk to the bathrooms - what's the problem.
West Marine and groceries a 20 minute bike ride away.
With cable, I would give it 5 stars.

8/19/15 Stay, 2015-10-19
Captain: , Fort Pierce City Marina, FL (460)

We spent several nights here waiting on friends to arrive. The marina is clean and quite secure with good floating docks. Unless you have a dinghy, the restrooms are too far to walk to. Also, nothing close for dining without a dinghy. Provisions are a couple of miles away which we used a bike to access. Due to the distance to our slip from the fuel dock, we had no assistance from the dockmaster who was alone.

Reviews below are pretty accurate so I'll cover updates and additional items. Dockmaster is very professional, he runs a tight ship. The Marina is really window dressing for the development, so bathrooms can be a long walk from your slip, and there is no dingy dock, service yard, pool, or cook out area. Pump out is well maintained, fuel is fresh. and has been said, bathrooms are spotless and kept cool in summer. Coin laundry is available, but only one washer and dryer. Fortunately, very little demand. For lunch or dinner there is a banquet facility/restaurant at the Ospreys Golf Course pro shop a short walk away, but it's open irregularly, so call first. A better bet is The Landing Restaurant, a dingy ride 1/2 mile up river just above the Rt 1 bridge at Occoquan Harbour Marina. This dingy ride up river is also as close as you'll get to grocery shopping at Food Lion, or the West Marine both about a 1/3 mile walk from the Landing Restaurant, otherwise, each is about 1.5 miles from Belmont Bay itself. The Marina and waterfront have become an attraction for non-residents, but management takes security pretty seriously.

Good point to go to DC on train, 2014-05-23
Captain: , Ruskin Florida (704)

Not much around the marina... you can dingy up to old town above the bridge for restaurant...we were told... didn't go.
See general info for train station info. The team at the marina gave us excellent service. They gave us a nice gift bag with wine etc. Dock master was awesome..

Great Facility, 2013-10-09
Captain: , Quantico, VA (261)

The marina has floating docks, excellent bath facilities, coin operated laundry and paved jogging/walking paths. There is a golf course withing walking distance of the marina and a train station about 1/2 mile away. The offer ValveTec gas and diesel and pump out. 50A and 30A power is available at all slips. MLW depth is approximately 7 feet throughout the marina. Very easy access to the fuel dock.
The can be reached at 703-492-5088 or hail them on channel 16.

Good upper Potomac sailboat stop, 2013-09-14
Captain: , Austin, TX (346)

The floating docks are excellent and the fuel dock has good access. Laundry and nice clean restrooms/showers. Good fuel dock which can be busy on weekends. No nearby restaurants; the restaurant at the golf course closed this spring. No shopping or repair facitlities. Entrance is narrow and shallow. We have touched bottom on previous trips but this time had between 6 and 7 feet of depth near low tide. We draw 5.5 ft so not a lot of water under the keel, but even these depths are better than most of the anchorages and marinas on the upper portion of the Potomac until DC. Also one of the few protected spots from all wind directions in the area. It is a long stretch of Potomac with few facilities and this makes a convenient stop if you are on a slow boat.

Coming Along, 2013-05-08
Captain: , Quantico VA - Amelia FL (677)

Met by well trained dock hands who promptly, and correctly, provided dock lines, tie up, and directions. Rapidly pumped 20 gallons of diesel ($3.79 gallon on 4 May 2013) and got me on my way. Fuel dock is in great shape. Will take the time to see the rest of the facility next time by.

Difficult to get into - but first rate facility, 2012-10-17
Captain: , Muskegon, MI (980)

the channel to reach the marina is very narrow and you need to check with harbor master for excact instrutions. The facility is in front of apartment/ condos quite a walk to any stores.
Rest rooms clean, and each dock has locked gates. Over all a pleasant experience if you do not need supplies.

This place has been a bit down at the heels, but take another look.

Good fuel dock, 2011-07-11
Captain: , Mason Neck, VA (63)

Have run many 100's of gallons of their Valvetech diesel fuel through my boat; never any problems

Great Marina, 2011-03-17
Captain: , Woodbridge VA (80)

I have been at BB since 2001 and have found it to be a great place to keep my boat. Jim Brooks the dock master is genuinely interested in running a top flight operation. The marina offers gas and diesel both treated with Valv Tech products and has a pump out system free to slip holders. Overall a very friendly cordial atmosphere.

From the marina your are 5 minutes(@27 knots) to the Potomac and 45-60 minutes to Nat'l Harbor, Alexandria and DC.

Dockmaster is very unfriendly towards boaters, 2011-02-07
Captain: , Woodbridge, VA (20)

Jim Brooks who is the dockmaster at this very nice marina is not so very nice to his boating customers. His rude personality and unwillingness to help out in a pinch keeps us from keeping our boat here at the BB marina. The marina has the highest slip fees on the Potomac River only second in line behind National Harbor! Boating should be friendly and fun, not nazi like as the dockmaster here makes it.

Very nice place, 2007-08-09
Captain: , Lighthouse Point, FL (79)

Not much happening, but everything is in great condition and bathroom and showers are spotless

My Home Port, 2007-07-09
Captain: , Woodbridge, VA (137)

The is a relatively new facility with floating docks, showers, laundry and fuel. There's not much else as it's in a residential development. Rental cars are just a mile a way. Just a half mile a way is the train station, that operates on work days as a commuter stop. Very convenient for a week day morning trip into DC and evening trip back.
