Additional info:

Caution , there is an Bascule bridge at the inlet, call first for an opening!

Adjacent to the marina is an active charter fishing fleet. Following them into or out of the inlet will help with some local knowledge - pay close attention to how they navigate the bridges. The bridges are somewhat narrow and have swift currents at peak tidal flows. The local charters know how the currents push as they go through the bridge openings.

why everyone else rating low?, 2017-07-04

we went on a sunday left mon early had to make the run home for work, wife and I found it really relaxing , we where on t and just sat and watched te parade of boats was cool nice people on dock gave a hand when we shoved off , matter of fact everyone was nice , we travel with my dog and hes a great ambassador for LADY LISA, dockhand on arrival did a good job.
Only issue was they asked us to check in at fuel dock , it was a huge debacle crowded ,and as i waited there was quite a bit of tide , we are a 50 drawing 5 ' so when we started showing 2 feet then 1 I called in and said IM polishing my props they gave a slip right away , all and all great time , resturants where great . Town was a close walk numerous bars and eateries , resturaunt on grounds was real good and has a dock and dine ,.... say hello to gregg who sits by the enterance to the marina bar

Nice location with beach near by and restaurants. They have a few docks completely empty and full of bird poop, its was obvious the staff was not on keeping the place up. The other thing to know is the draw bridge exit puts you right out to the inlet, so once you commit through the bridge there is no going back as the bridge starts to drop as soon as you get through, we had a rough inlet and thanksful not a issue, but any rougher its a dicy place to leave or enter given the bridge.

not among my favorite marina's..., 2013-06-29
Captain: , North Carolina (344)

Big shark tournament going on in area and all marinas were full. Diane was able to fit us in so we were lucky.

That being said, this was not a favorite marina. The dock hands were out lounging in the sun at the fuel pumps and no one bothered to answer our radio calls. Tried the phone and no one answered that either. This also happened to a friend earlier in the day when he was coming in.

We ended up laying up on the gas docks so that we could get a slip assignment. That turned out to be a good thing because the fuel price was better than we had seen in a while so we filled up.

Current runs really hard here and there are a lot of head boats that go in and out plus the boats that were in the shark tournament - made for a bumpy night.

On the plus side, it is close to town and you can walk to many restaurants. There's also a West Marine that you can walk to.

No Transients Yet (Hurricane Sandy), 2013-05-15
Captain: , Deltaville VA (140)

I received this email today, MAY 15, 2013, in response to my request to stop at Belmar Marina.

"At this time I cannot fit any transient boaters. We lost a few docks and I have my slip holders in the transient slips. The restaurants and stores are open. The ribbon cutting for the beach opening is May 22nd. I am hoping within the next few weeks to be able to accept transient boaters. Thanks

This place could be great. It seems that they are trying. Belmar has some great restaurants (Casa Solar is quite unique) and the ocean beach is walkable. Too bad the transient slips are next to the party boats.

Hidden Gem on the way north, 2010-06-21
Captain: , Wicomico Creek, MD (494)

Ran the Jersey coast and was planning to pull into Masaquana but couldn't get response at marinas. Went on to Belmar. Docking help, pump out and concrete floating docks makes for a great stop. Clean and secure marina with laundry. Fuel is $2.60/gal diesel . West marine and a host of restaurants within walking distance. Train to NYC less than 2 blocks away (2 hours to Penn station & $7 for senior ticket). Entrance can be tricky with 3 bridges but time it at slack tide means no problem. 2nd bridge is on a half and full hour schedule but the inlet is on demand. Make sure to call the inlet on 13 to request an open before getting in the inlet. had a fuel issue after leaving Belmar but aftre phone calls to marina and a lengthy discussion concluded that the source was not them.

tricky bridge inlet, 2009-04-22
Captain: , Key Largo (5457)

It's a nice marina, pricey, not walkable groceries, but a west marine nearby. Rock lined Inlet to come in has a draw bridge, that could be tricky. Make sure it's open. resturants nearby.
