Reviews for Bell Harbor Marina
Great spot in the thick of it, 2016-08-31
Captain: , Charlestown (946)

You couldn't be closer to the city. Nice clean showers and restrooms. Walking distance to all you may want to see. Nice docks and everything well kept. A definite return spot if I were to come back.

Good, bad and ugly. , 2015-08-14

Pros - harbour is very secure with clean showers and toilets. Access to downtown and places like the Pike Place Market are very convenient. Restaurants and bars are also very close.

Cons - heightened security is a result of a high number of potential unwelcomed guests that are on every street corner and litter the parks. Make sure to stock up on supplies prior to reaching this harbour as there are no groceries stores that will supply you with everything you need that are within walking distance. The markets and small shops have some of what you will need...but at quite a price.

I can now say I've been to Seattle and saw the sights but I think that once will be enough for me.

Downtown Convenience, 2015-07-13

Small marina with a great location. Showers are free; there are two single person shower rooms. Showers and bathrooms are well maintained. Daytime staff were great, but we arrived after hours and were unable to reach anyone by phone or VHF. We located the after-hours security guard after a short search but he was unsure what to charge us or where we should tie up. He finallly decided that the spot we picked out for ourselves was "probably OK". Hmm. None of this really caused a problem and everything did in fact turn out to be OK. The location of this marina cannot be beat. Easy walk to waterfront attractions, Pike Place, even the Space Needle and Science Center are not to far away. I will be back!

great little harbor with clean facilities and proximity to downtown, 2015-01-12
Captain: , North Lake Marina, Lake Washington (260)

We enjoyed the clean A dock and the showers are huge (separate from the restrooms). Hoses are available for water on the docks. Waves rock the boat a bit more than other marinas but tolerable. Ferry and train blasts can be heard but none seemed to disturb usual sleeping hours. The biggest BEWARE is that there is virtually no place for pets to do their business so expect to have to walk a ways if your pet requires a natural environment.

great marina in the heart of Seattle, 2014-08-30
Captain: , Gig Harbor, WA (469)

we enjoy this marina for its great location. we have used it to sight see, go to ball games and hang out. it is relatively quiet given it location but surprisingly, there is a little swell action from time to time. nothing bad though.

Great location, thin staffing, 2013-11-05

This is a nice facility - very clean, and you just can't beat the convenient location, right in the heart of downtown. The docks and heads are behind a locked gate so we felt secure. No one responded to our call to help us dock, and the bird poop on the docks was pretty bad - it would be nice if someone cleaned them off periodically. The docks have metal bull rails instead of cleats. Good 50A power.

Very nice and fun location, 2013-05-08

The dock facilities and staff are absolutly fantastic. The port of Seattle takes great care and pride in the facility. The dock master was very helpful and nice. We have tried four previous times to book a slip there with no joy. You need to plan well ahead but it is worth it. If there is a home Seahawks game you will not have a chance as those slips are booked out forever. This marina was my choice for my birthday. We had another couple on board that weekend and we all had a great time in town. Taxis are easily booked and there is a nice small convinence store near the marina office. The store has about anything you need for a weekend stay. I rate this as the top Marina in the Seattle area, hands down. It is small and books up quick for obvious reasons.

The biggest city in Washington State is in front of you!, 2013-04-11
Captain: , Sequim, WA (130)

This marina is at the heart of Seattle. That is enough, but there is more. We even walked back from a Mariners game faster than the bus could get us back. The bathrooms and showers seem quite "industrial" and the sheet piling on the cruise ship dock creaks and groans during the night. Still, we will be back. There isn't a waterside room in Seattle that can beat your own boat and the City behind you!

A great marina right in Downtown Seattle. The best Free showers in town, no fumbling for quarters. No view of the water, but great views of Seattle Skyline from your boat. Anthony's and much more withing walking distance.

Seattle's Best Marina, 2012-03-18

This is the place to stay, a little high for morrage but worth it, a must stay in the heart of Seattle.

Downtown Seattle's Best, 2011-03-23
Captain: , San Diego, CA (1239)

In the heart of Seattle. The facilities are new and clean. Large accessible bathrooms and big showers. Nearby is an Anthony's restaurant with bar that I've patronized each time I visit. The view west of the sun setting isn't visible from the marina but is from the pier above. A metal breakwater separates you from Elliott Bay. Access is easy even at night with streetlights illuminating the marina. The only problem is that slips may not be labeled properly. When I pulled in they all said "Occupied" but marina staff said first come, first serve.

Excellent facility, excellent marina staff, 2011-02-13

You must make reservations early! Great place to moor. City is fun for a weekend visit. Besides Anthony's right outside the Marina, you have the whole city. Our favorite pizza joint is Belltown Pizza on 1st and Wall. Order the "Ray's favorite". Being a NYer out here the past 20+ years, it was a pleasant find to get good pizza. Starbucks is right across the street as well as a ATM. Be sure to use the elevator on the south side of the Mariott to get up to Pikes Market if you don't want to use the stairs.

The Marina keeps the gate access locked during cruise ship visits and locks it every night to keep the non-boaters out. I rate it very safe. Cameras on all the docks also add to that security.

Excellent facility at the foot the the city, 2010-02-23
Captain: , Seattle (250)

We live downtown and keep our boat at nearby Elliott Bay Marina, so never really thought about mooring here (we walk down all the time). But we motored down to join friends who were there for the night. Finally got a feel for the marina from a boater's perspective.

It's surprisingly quiet, given nearby Alaskan Way, and the adjacent Viaduct. The city skyline makes for a wonderful backdrop. And it's tough to beat the quality and proximity of Anthony's two restaurants (upstairs and downstairs). Seattle Waterfront Marriott is right across the street, should you want to accommodate boatless friends, as is their restaurant, Il Bistro.

Seattle's entire retail core, Pike's Market, the Seattle Aquarium and other waterfront attractions are all within walking distance. The outstanding Waterfront Grill is just 5 blocks north, and don't miss the Olympic Sculpture Park. It's hard to miss Calder's Eagle as you enter Elliott Bay.

The docks are ample and well maintained. The facilities are clean and spacious. WIFI is a bit of a hassle - you'll have to get instructions from the harbor master. Staff we met were friendly and helpful. We're already looking for an excuse to go back.

Right in the heart of Seattle!, 2007-12-04

14 night max stay. If you like to be in the middle of the hustle and bustle of the city, this is the place. Certainly not quiet, but friendly staff and easy accessability to downtown Seattle. Plenty to see and do. A nice treat after a lot of nights on the hook.
