Reviews for Beal's Lobster Pier
Delicious Lobster, easy fueling, 2016-07-18
Captain: , Wickford, RI (421)

There is a restaurant where you can eat but we just buy our lobsters live and take them back to the boat to cook. Variety of sizes and either soft or hard shell.
Low floating dock is easy for fueling dinghy. As previously mentioned, no dock hands, so fueling the big boat is a little tricky but doable. Easier to fuel over at Dysarts.

Beal's for lobster, 2014-08-27

Under new ownership as of summer 2014. Still great lobster cooked to order and better service, cleaner, and they actually include the butter for free now (o:

There is diesel and gasolene available on their float. It's pretty low in the water and you will have to tie up yourself, so be prepared for a bit of a jump on to the dock. You help yourself to the fuel and then tell the lady in the office how much you filled up with and she will work out your bill. You also turn on the machines on the float. There is drinking water also available via a hose. Best time is in the mornings before the lobster boats return in the afternoon.
One of the Beals kindly and, without asking, offered advice re safer anchorages, when Hurricane Earl was approaching in Sep10, and while I was refueling - he obviously recognized us as a foreign yacht and he passed on his considerable experience in the area. His advice was excellent and veerrryy helpful - we left SW Harbour and went to Somes Harbour and anchored there to ride it out. These sorts of gestures make the cruising life what it is.

Convenient Spot for Lobsters, 2010-08-07
Captain: , Flag Harbor, MD (157)

The lobsters are great and convenient if you want to eat them there. If buying live, you can get better prices a few hundred feet away at any lobster boat dock. Prices for French Fries, Onion Rings and Cold Slaw are outrageous for the portions given. Also, the "butter" looks like the oil you get on your popcorn at the movie theater.

We love to tie up our dingy and eat fish and chips at the pic nic tables.

Best place in Maine for lobster, 2009-10-25
Captain: , Poughkeepsie, NY (6053)

We enjoy lobster here every year and take all our guests here too. You choose the size lobster you want out of a tank. It's the only place we've seen in Maine where you can get lobsters of any size. One of my boat guests chose a 3.4 lb, hardshell lobster! I had the 1.5 lb size, it was plenty. They also have steamers and corn on the cob. Conveniently, the claws are cracked after cooking for easy eating.
