Reviews for Bayside Marina
A Colonial Beach Jewel, 2016-11-28
Captain: , Solomons Island (53)

Our first time visiting Colonial Beach and we are ever so happy that it was with Bayside Marina. Off season? YES! But Dockmaster Eddie Blunt made us feel like family. Eddie (Colonial Beach Mayor elect) basically gave us the keys to the town. The approach was a bit shallow but at 39%u201D draft we were absolutely fine and even at low tide. Ask Eddie for the best approach. The restaurants are amazing and visiting The Dockside Tiki Bar is an absolute must. It was a bit chili for the family but we felt as if we had the marina and town to ourselves. The one thing I can guarantee is that we will be returning when the warm returns.
Thanks again Eddie for a wonderful experience!

Friendly, quiet, convenient, clean marina, 2016-08-31
Captain: , Washington DC (80)

We just spent a night at Bayside on our way to the Chesapeake from DC. The approach at low tide was shallow, but we made it in with a 36" draft. Current is weak and docking is a breeze. We've stayed in Colonial Beach several times and we enjoyed this marina more than the other place we normally stay.

Bayside is only a few blocks from most of the restaurants in town and a few blocks from the beach. The Lighthouse Restaurant, at the marina, is very good. The marina also has a complimentary golf cart that we were able to use to make a run to the store for supplies.

We will definitely stay here again.

What they said..., 2016-08-14

Don't want to repeat everyone's notes below, just want to say that it still holds true in 2016. Eddie (owner) is a great guy who takes care of you. I've stayed at Bayside a combined 8-10 nights over the last 3 years... been totally happy every time.

This place is awesome, 2015-08-21

My Sharona is in the process of doing the great loop. I was looking for a place to stay on the Potomac and talked to Eddie on the phone. What a great guy. I called him when we entered the harbor and he met us at the dock. Help up with the lines. Lent us a golf cart. Told us about the town. This is the best arina I have stayed at since leaving Chicago

Excellent choice , 2015-07-15

Go right to the end of the bay, you'll be well rewarded. Eddie will take good care of you. Like others have said, close to town, super nice retaurant on site, club house, great manager, friendly nieghbors. Everything about this marina will tug at you to extend your stay.

Great Marina, 2015-07-15
Captain: , Colombia Island Marina (20)

Let me tell you something boaters, don't look at another marina in the area. This is by far the best one. Eddie will go above and beyond to make your stay enjoyable. He drove us and all our luggage to town as well let us use the golf cart. The chart reading 2 feet is a joke. I came in at low tide and read 4-5 feet the entire way in. Easy walk to town. Can't wait to come back. Nice work in there Eddie. Keep it up!

Going out of our way to make sure you enjoy yourself, 2014-07-28
Captain: , Colonial Beach (51)

The marina strives to make your stay a memory. Much like the difference in a Hotel vs. Bed and Breakfast. Small, quaint and very attentive (40 slips) to all the details, especiall cleanliness. Borrow a golf cart to pick up supplies or just walk to the stores. Right in the middle of town and everything you could want to do.

Enjoyed our stay, 2013-07-21
Captain: , Huntington Harbour, CA (337)

We were concerned about depths since the charts indicated 2 feet, but previous review emboldened us to give it a try. Glad we did. We conatacted Ed at the marina and he gave us excellent instructions on how to get to the dock in our boat with 4' draft. Had a very enjoyable stay. Borrowed the golf cart and toured the island. Swam at the beach. Lighthouse is a fabulous restaurant. Dockage at the Lighthouse restaurant is free only while eating and not for overnight stays. We liked this area and would recommend it for a visit.

Enjoyed our stay; will return, 2012-10-14

A few from AHYC visited here St. Patrick's Day 2012. Charts indicate 2' MLW but had no problems getting in with 4-5 at dead low tide. Staff very friendly and accomodating. The Restaurant is now "The Lighthouse" and food was excellent. I would say their seafood stew was worth a trip up the Potomac. Just a couple block walk to the Potomac River waterfront of Colonial Beach.

good stop on way to DC, 2012-07-17
Captain: , Knapps Narrows Md (450)

We stopped here on our way up the river to Washington DC. A little skinny (our draft is 4 ft) getting in but owner gaqve us good directions and we had no problems. Owner was on the dock and helpful an dfriendly. We were there on a Tuesday and restaurant is closed on Tiuesday so he suggested a very good French/Asian restaurant in town. Clean bathrooms and very nice lounge.

Right in the Middle of Town, 2012-06-18
Captain: , Hollywood, MD (271)

We couldn't be happier with this great location and personal service. All of the facilites were top notch. We had heard that Monroe Bay was too shallow for us to get into this marina, but we never saw less than five feet of water all the way to the dock. The owner was waiting to receive our lines when we got there and gave us all the info we needed to enjoy the stay. The captain's lounge was super, good clean bathrooms, well lighted facilities at night and we walked to all the main attractions in Colonial Beach. Trolly system was available right in front of the marina. Golf cart rentals available, but in this location you don't need one. We'll come back for another stay.

Friendly Marina, 2012-06-10
Captain: , Mackinaw City, MI (60)

This has to be one of the friendlest marina we have come across on the Loop. The Owen Eddie went out of hisd way to make sure we had everything we needed. There is a great boaters lounge as well as a nice restaurant on site.

As we walked around the town, everyone we encountered could not have been friendler.

It is a bit skinny getting in, just give them a call on the radio and they will give you directions.

Pleasent Surprise, 2011-08-28
