Grocery

Yes - Grocery delivery to marina by www.FoodStore2Go.com

Super Value Foods
Billney Ln.
Modern, well stocked grocery with all of the items one would expect to find by Bahamian standards . While the store is at the top of a hill, it's well worth the climb. If you buy too much, cabs are available in the parking area (or the store will call you one) so you can get your purchases back to your vessel.

Solomoms Fresh Market
Ex City Market
Mackey Street
Modern, well stocked, grocery store located in the Harbour Bay Shopping Plaza. Fresh and frozen meats, produce, canned gods, dairy etc. It's not unlike being in a U.S. grocery. What a change from the old City Market!

On-The-Run Mini-Market
East Bay St.
This modern gas station reminds you of an up-scale 7-Eleven mini mart. Lots of sundrys and snacks and some grocery items make this a good stopping point. The best part, however, is that On-The-Run offers some of the best fried chicken and potato wedges you'll ever eat and the best Jamaican style meat pies this side of Kingston.

Hardware

Restaurants

Yes - Potter's Cay has been famous for both fresh, local cusine and its outdoor fruit and vegetable markets. Located under the Mackey Street Bridge, Potter's Cay is where the locals eat (and savy cruisers too.) Conch Salad, Conch Fritters, Cracked Conch, Broild and Fried Grouper and Lobster (in season) are just a few of the things you'll find to eat here. Top it off with a cold beer or coke soda and you've got a real feast.

Reviews for Bayshore Marina
Best bang for the buck in Nassau, 2016-09-19

Stayed there for almost a month waiting for parts on a yacht delivery gone wrong. Was pleased to befriend Lundy Robinson, the dock master and experienced sailor. A true gentleman and one of Nassau's inhabitant that did not want to exaggeratedly profit from our predicament. Boat yard service was honest but bad experience with outside contractors... You really learn quick that this land has been the home of pirates for 200 years. Esso Bayshore across the street has a good lunch counter and decent internet. If you do not mind the rough of mooring on a fishing wharf in Eastern Canada, you will be comfortable here. If, on the other hand, you are looking for the typical North American Yacht Club/marina experience, go spend the extra 1$ to 3$ a foot elsewhere. If you are stuck for several months, they will give you a monthly rate. People at the chandlery and in the administration office were really helpful in guiding us.

Cheapest dockage around, 2015-01-24

Following an expensive night at Yachthaven, we crossed over to Bayshore Marina. Docks are as basic as you can get with two outer pilings - need to tie up Mediterranean mooring style (stern to). we were lucky and tied up on the inside of the T-head, which allows for more traditional docking. Pier is built out of concrete, so be sure to use plenty of fenders. Definitely not the prettiest marina (has a few sunken vessels), but it provided everything we needed. Also, you can go next door to the poop deck to do laundry.

The Price Is Right!, 2014-05-28

We came here with two other vessels and have spent a week at the dock because it's only $1/foot + $5/day for water. It is a bit bouncy due to vessel traffic in the area and the smell of gas and diesel fumes is pretty constant, but otherwise it is just fine. We had welders come right down to the dock to work on our davits, there is laundry next door at Yacht Haven, the Chinese restaurant nearby is great and groceries are readily available at either the Super Saver or Fresh Market. The marina is gated and there is always a security guard on duty, so no issues there. One can dinghy across to Atlantis and tour the amazing aquariums there as well. I would definitely reccomend this place to anyone on a budget.

Thank you Lundy and Loren, 2014-05-03

We ended up in Nassau in 2013. Just by chance we found Bayshore Marina. It was only $1 a foot! Nothing luxurious and yes it is a workers/fishing charter dock but you couldn't ask for a more welcoming and helpful crew. After getting to know Lundy we found out he is the Captain of the Bahamian Raceboat Red Stripe and lucky for us we were able to see him take 1st Place in the Family Regatta that year! We will always go back if in Nassau and have cash to spend on a dock just for their hospitality and warmth. Super Value Grocery store is not a long walk away which has more reasonable prices then City Market. Great Chinese across the way. Plus tons of Marine Parts store (Albert's is fantastic especially for hard to find items for diesels). We suggest if you want to go to the Fish Fry just dinghy over to the beach past the cruise ships. Taxi service was ridiculous in price. Or favorite place to eat there is Mr. Andros. Got a huge heaping serving of Creo that was more then enough for two people to share. Nassau is Nassau, play it safe and don't walk around looking like a tourist.

A Working Boatyard, 2013-02-23

They do take transients, and the price is right: $1/foot + $10 for water. Mr Lindy, the dockmaster, is great. We were in Nassau to get and stay out of a nasty predicted norther (right on the money). Bayshore made room for us and staff made sure we were secure. This is a working boatyard, so none of the usual services: no showers, no bathroom, no laundry, but if you need any repairs, Mr Lindy can find whoever you need. We only stayed one night, but it was fine, and security was excellent. (I'm a cruiser and don't wear a lot of jewelry and never felt unsafe, unlike the previous poster, but also was told not to go out at night, which we mostly didn't do.)

Commercial Boats, 2012-12-20

We docked here for a couple of weeks - not really a yacht destination. It is gated and there is security but the whole area is shady. All the businesses on Bay Street have security or buzzers to let you in. I was in a cab and forgot to take off my gold necklace - next thing I know is that a man runs up to the cab and mumbles to the drive and then lunges into the backseat window and rips my chain off my neckt - this happened at Saturday morning at 9 am. Don't wear any jewelry on anywhere in Nassau. Paradise Island is probably ok but marinas are expensive. This is my last trip ever to Nassau unless I need a part or staying one night on my way to the Exumas. Then I'll anchor. I reported the crime to the police but they did nothing. Nasau has always been bad but now it is ridiculous.
