Reviews for Baylen Slips Marina
Well protected and quiet marina., 2014-02-21

You don't get many amenities at this marina, but it is quiet and well protected. You do have to move your boat in the case of a named storm.

Protected, great dockmaster, 2013-07-04
Captain: , Corpus Christi, TX (702)

Ron accommodated us in Baylen because Palafox was full. He went above and beyond for service! While Baylen is a great spot, you really don't have access to showers/heads/laundry, as they are too far away to be readily accessible. That said, service at the fuel dock and Ron's desire to make something work made this experience a very positive one!

Best Kept Secret in FL Panhandle, 2013-01-23
Captain: , Kemah, Texas (235)

We keep our boat (40' Sea Ray Sedan Bridge) in Baylen for many reasons.

It is in the rear of Palafox Marina meaning we're behind a fence for security, have floating concrete docks for easy of access to/from the boat, away from transient boat traffic and walk abouts from Jaco's Restaurant on the point next to us, easy access to the fuel dock with gas & diesel, the best pair of dock masters you'll ever meet, well protected by seawalls when the wind across Pensacola Bay picks up, and within easy walking distance to charming old Pensacola.

Also, their new Blue Wahoos baseball park is within easy walking distance for morning exercise, and every weekend, a five-block long farmers market offers fresh vegetables, baked goods, arts, and crafts along South Palafox street. It is also within easy walking distance of Baylen.

If you're going to stay in this area for more than a few days, it is worth asking to be put back in Baylen. There are just a few slips available and you may get lucky!

Liveaboard, 2012-04-06
Captain: , Pensacola (77)

Not a bad place to liveaboard for a while. Many items happening within walking distance in downtown Pensacola (shopping, restaurants, new minor league baseball park). No grocery store close.

The marina is quiet and far better protected than Palafox Pier (which shares the same space, but is more exposed to the bay). Glass smooth most days and only rock in a strong wind from the South.

The biggest downside is lack of shower and restroom facilities close by. There is one available for use at Palafox Pier, but this is a 1/3 mile walk. Also the showers are not cleaned as often as you would like.
