Reviews for Barron's Marine Services
HAD TO PAY AND LEAVE WITH PAID GELCOAT REPARIS NOT DONE, 2016-09-03
Captain: , New York City (10)

As I was told that was the only way to get my boat back. Dad is a very nice guy, son not so much. Not a good experience. Also the promise me electricity while on repairs and they gave me a 15 amp. house extension good enough to plug something to it but not even for battery charging.

Convenient, 2014-11-11
Captain: , Portland, Maine (845)

Stopped here for a night to stage our east river transit. Marine staff very friendly and helpful. Nice neighborhood with grocery, restaurants, bars and a very unorganized HW store. Not the prettiest place but it fit the bill for us at the time.

Small Family Owned Boatyard, 2013-11-19
Captain: , Brooklyn, NY (30)

I bought my boat here, and have used them for storage and maintenance for the last year. Friendly service and they helped pull and prepare my boat for superstorm Sandy (which most of the boats here survived with little or no damage). They sometimes need to be reminded to finish the job, but other than that, no complaints. They often have transient moorings, but seldom monitor VHF, so suggest you call their landline.

You are in good hands here, 2012-09-22
Captain: , Larchmont, NY (22)

Friendly, competently run family business with skilled craftmanship and good knowledge. Worth every penny. We stay here on the hard during the winter. Not a fancy place, but no fancy talk either - and we're happy about it. Clean, honest, dedicated, what do you want else? Sailmaker (Doyle's) next door, the Nautical Museum, the City Island Diner and supermarket within 3 min walking distance. Public transportation via Bx 28 Bus City Island-Pelham Bay Park, then subway connection via 6 train from Pelham Bay Park all the way down to Brooklyn Bridge. Pretty good protection on the moorings between City Island and Hart Island, except in a straight So'Easter.

Great Location - Helpful staff, 2011-06-01
Captain: , St Pete (10)

Location is hard to beat. Family run business really understands the concept of being helpful. Grocery store and restaurants are all within walking distance. New Rochelle train station is a about a $20 cab ride. There is also bus service to Pelham Station.
Moorings area is pretty well sheltered from 3 directions.
Restroom and shower not fancy but clean and work fine.
Would definitely recommend.

Great place for a mooring., 2010-10-02
Captain: , Mount Sinai (140)

Stopped and rented a mooring for two nights. Basic old time boatyard. Great location for provisioning, laundry and visiting the Nautical Museum about a three minute walk from the boatyard. Supermarkets also within easy walking distance along with restaurants.

Nice people but..., 2007-07-09
Captain: , New York City (71)

After a fire the adjustor directed me to this yard. They would not give me an estimate at my dock but insisted on towing the boat to their yard and hauled it. They then presented me with a bill which said I would have to pay an enormous sum just to get my boat back if I did not accept their terms. The charges were outrageous, the work not well done --with some exceptions -- and it took many months though two weeks were initially promised. In general, I was not pleased.

Barron's Boat Yard, 2007-06-24
Captain: , City Island, NY (120)

I've kept my sailboat here since 2006. Friendly, attentive service, access to skilled work for engines, fiberglass, painting, rigging. No frills yard with what it takes to get you in the water. Moorings, travellift, bathroom.
