Reviews for Bahia Corinthian Yacht Club
Typical OC Yacht Club, 2013-10-07
Captain: , Seattle (21031)

The facility is very well maintained and the management's attention to detail and pride is quite evident throughout the property.

Almost all of the traffic within the club is members or transient boaters with SCYA membership. If you are from outside the SoCal area you are greeted quite warmly and made to feel part of the club. The service is first class.

If you are a visitor from another part of the U.S. or an international location you should be aware that Newport Beach and Harbor is not the eclectic part of the Los Angeles area which is represented and portrayed in travel magazines. This area is best described as old school.

If you are seeking the Hollywood image experience then the Marina Del Rey area to the north is where you want to be.

Newport Beach is one of the best beaches in Southern California and the Balboa area offers a vast variety of restaurants. Disneyland is also nearby as is the Orange County Airport (John Wayne International.)

If you are seeking the old school yacht club enviornment this is a great choice and in our opinion is superior to its more famous neighbor: the Balboa Yacht Club.

BCYC - Columbia Room most friendly, 2013-08-21
Captain: , Newport Beach (68)

BCYC welcomes SCYA-affiliates, club of the year 2011, 2008, 2005, 2003, 1996, 1995, 1994.
Established in 1958, the clubhouse was dedicated in 1971, and is one of the newest facilities in Newport Harbor.
Balboa Island is a short walk (15 minutes) from the club, with the Balboa ferry, ATM, post office, many shops, restaurants, and a several bars I've enjoyed many times.
There is a main dining room, and a more casual/social Columbia Room in the bar area, where I have spent many comfortable hours overlooking the water, before and after races.
