Reviews for Baddeck Marine
Hepful Staff, 2015-09-11
Captain: , Deer Isle, Maine (514)

Decent facilities; friendly and helpful staff. Good stock of marine supplies at the store. Staff went up my mast to repair a bad VHF connection within a couple of hours after my inquiry. Docks seem sheltered, but a brief squall from the northeast set everything in motion; seems the public wharf to the northeast does not offer much protection if the waves come from that direction. Very friendly group at the neighboring Bras D%u2019Or Yacht Club, with excellent local music%u2014a high point of our stay.

The end of an 8 day delivery from Brookllyn in a 38 foot sailboat. Marina is small and requires some advanced notice to get in during the busy summer months. Only room for about 10 boats. There a mooring field nearbly if fulled and a dingy dock available. Full service marina catering mostly to sailboats. Store is well stocked with marine supplies and grocery is near by. Well maintained floating docks but everything is crammed in there. Fuel dock is tight but their fuel hose will reach most of the slips. The best this about this best is the folks that work here. A great experience.

Nice Marina, 2014-07-31

We stayed here a little over a week while we explored the highlands. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They even came to pick us up at the grocery store. Moorings are mostly on the Kidston side of the harbor.

Baddeck Storage and Launch Services, 2014-06-29
Captain: , Beverly, MA (1242)

Provided excellent services over winter and commission/launch for the season. Stu is the owner and very helpful for any issue that may come up with your boat.

Great location & staff, 2012-08-01
Captain: , Bayfield, WI and the ICW (1390)

Kind of quaint, messy, and small, with a great location and essentials nearby.

Capable and Friendly, 2010-08-18
Captain: , Barnegat NJ USA (695)

This boatyard is primarily a repair facility catering to medium-sized sailing boats. It includes a bit of transient dockage, but anything over about 40 feet will perhaps be taxing their resources. At 28 feet I fit in just fine, and the personnel at the yard were friendly, informative, and capable. Nice central location without too much hustle and bustle.

Pleasant town, great spot, 2010-08-17
Captain: , Baltimore, MD (1323)

Yes, touristy but a great spot. The Bell Museum is good. Rent-a-Wreck to extend your range, but call ahead to reserve! Spent 3 days on a mooring by Kidston Is. Had a marina reservation, arrived before it was vacated, so they had us pick up a mooring in the meantime. Just stayed on the mooring. Plenty to see.

Nice facilty, tourist town, 2010-03-02
Captain: , Sarasota (1427)

We had no trouble getting dockage at the last minute, but I can imagine we were lucky. Accomodating staff - they ran an extension cord to their office when they couldn't get the dock power to work for us. Fun town to walk around in. Be sure to rent a car and take the Cabot Trail and visit the Bell Museum.

Small but friendly, 2009-09-29
Captain: , Cruising (3535)

Baddeck is a great town, and the folks at Baddeck Marine were very nice. It's a very small marina though, and our 50' boat was given a piece of the long floating face dock to share with other big boats, with our bow hanging out in space a bit. Great jumping off point to explore the Cabot Trail.

Nice marina near pleasant downtown, 2008-08-27
Captain: , Newport, RI (10275)

Baddeck iis definately a tourist stop as the town is filled with them. The town has lots of shops and restaurants to cater to them (us). The marina is located just a few blocks away and is well maintained. We had no problems getting a reservation and there are lots of moorings available in the area. Car rental is available at McKauley's (sp?) Rent-a-Wreck.
