Reviews for Astor Bridge Marina
Now $2 A FOOT! , overpriced for the area! $1 a foot everywhere else., 2017-09-16
Captain: , Key Largo (5457)

new management, WAY OVERPRICED for the area, everone else 31 aft. they are $2 nice folks. good wifi
new docks, shore power, nice showers,
very protected.
BUT don't let em put you on the.
out side dock if you have a boat bigger than 25 ft.

Great staff but very close to metal bridge, 2017-05-05
Captain: , Frostproof Fl (260)

Stayed 2 nights. The marina is total enclosed except for a very narrow entrace canal. Restrooms, and laundry are clean and have A/C. Felt safe but on weekend parties can be loud. There is a small motel and boat launch here also. Short walk across bridge is Black Water Resturant. They have very good food especially the fish dip. Rated it a 3 because of bridge noise. Otherwise it would be a 4. If you have a/c bridge noise is not a problem.

Wonderful Place to Visit!, 2017-03-23

A necessary stop in your travels on the St. Johns River!
Stayed at the Motel, Room was very clean, and comfortable, New Managers are on site, They are very friendly and welcoming.
The riverfront here at this marina is stunning.

UPDATE! Very pleasant visit, 2017-03-23

On 3/11/17 the property is under new management. There is no longer a ships store and Saturday night the restaurant was locked up by 8:15 PM. When asked about gas we were advised it was cheaper across the river. Docks are still in good shape and power and water were good.

We stopped here on 5/29/15 on our way from Sanford to Silver Glenn Springs. Nice fixed docks, good power (30A), water and fuel. Elaine and Bill are very helpful and even gave us keys to an empty hotel room for showers. There is a restaurant there with good food and music. Planned on stopping there again on the way south but mechanical problems prevented it. We will stop here again on our next trip north.

Stayed here recently in the hotel with my boat. Super friendly staff and owners. Riverside docks were perfect access and location for my boat while staying in the hotel for the weekend. Fuel and ships store right there for easy convenience. For a weekend river get away by boat or land its a great location. Easy quick trip to Silver Glen Springs. While hotel is older the room was clean and tidy!

Very nice stop on the St Johns River. Fixed docks in great shape with water and power. Narrow entrance shows about 7 feet of depth with plenty of depth once inside the marina basin. Totally protected from wind and wakes. 2 new washers and 2 new dryers. WiFi is very good. Showers are modern and clean but can be a long hike depending on your slip location. Gas only and pumpout right on the St Johns River. Lots of frienly and helpful people. Rich, a liveaboard, came to grab a line for us. I will stop again on my way north. $1 per foot and electricity is included!

Don't miss this stop., 2015-12-02
Captain: , Jacksonville,Fl. (100)

Stopped here for a night on my way south. The owners are very friendly & let us use a motel room to shower. The live aboards helped us tie up & you could tell by their attitude, that they enjoyed living there. Good resturant & bar on property. Will stop here again in spring.

Great people and protected docks., 2015-05-07
Captain: , Jekyll Island Ga (482)

Visited a few days and were happy with the marina. Great people and helpful folks! Clean marina grounds with one exception. the resturant (avoid) on the site has a garbage dump to feed the buzzards right in the parking area beside the basin. What is the property owner thinking? Lacks a few amenities but price is right. The store across the river will take grocery orders or you can ride bike at risk on major highway to store. We did not ask about showers or restrooms. None seen. Be sure to dink to the Blue Creek and visit Parramore's for Buck and Kats to eat. Ask Dock master fo r directions. Silver Glen Spring is 5 miles or so. wonderful day trip!
Pet friendly. Easy in and out.

Good stop on St Johns, 2014-04-22
Captain: , Newport (131)

Never met any of staff in person as they were gone when we arrived and not yet there when we left. But they were very user friendly and helpful on the phone when making reservation.
Protected marina with new wooden fixed docks. Good power and wifi (we were close to the office). Restaurant was closed the night we were there. Did not use any of the facilities so can't comment.

Enjoyed stay! Stayed a week ago going down St Johns and liked it so much that we are staying tonight!, 2014-03-27
Captain: , El Dorado Hills (73)

Eileen and Mike are super people and go out of their way to make sure all is well. Don't understand why negative previous comments. Marina us nice, Mike & Eileen gave us a motel key to use for restroom and/or showers. Good restaurant on premises. Highly recommend this stop!

Its a 4 for what we need.

$20 for 35 gallons of water!, 2013-10-09
Captain: , Middleburg Florida (131)

After taking the dingy up to the fuel dock on 10-4-13, and getting $47.15 worth of gas, I was told I could only have 35 gallons of water for a sum of $20. I should have read the reviews and figured this out.

Avoid this marina. Rude unprofessional dock staff!!!!, 2013-08-29
Captain: , New Bern, NC (20)

I am a professional mariner with close to 300K miles on the water over the past 13 years. I have traveled from Mane to Texas, most inland rivers, canals and the great lakes.
I have NEVER had a dockhand refuse to take a line while docking until this business. They cited insurance reasons as to why they could offer no help. The female staff member was just nasty and very rude. When you travel the St Johns system, there are plenty of marinas to service your needs. AVOID this one.

Castaways Restaurant (needs it's own listing), 2012-03-16
Captain: , Oviedo (306)

Loved the Castaways Restaurant. Great food. A bit of old Florida - family run - everybody knows everybody - friendly kind of place.

Nice place, 2012-02-17
Captain: , Unionville, IN (221)

Managers Mike and Eileen are friendly and helpful. Docks are new and very nice, protected from the river. The only toilet/Shower is shared with the resturant and only when it is open. They let us use a motel room shower but later the rooms were booked. Fun resturant.

Good overnight spot, 2011-07-13
Captain: , Sanford, FL (657)

We stopped here at the end of a day, it was tight getting into the dock because there was already a houseboat there. It was after 6PM when wwe arrived, when I went to the office in the morning, they kindly told me not to worry about the fee. Free is always good.

Best kept secret, 2011-05-19
Captain: , Mattituck, NY. (391)

Stopped here not knowing what to expect. Good depth getting into marina. All new docks, well kept, fixed dock with fingers. Owners were very friendly, willing to help in any way. Ate in Restaurant, food local.

Work in progress , 2009-03-24
Captain: , Sanford,FL (10)

Has a new restaurant opened at the Marina. Food and Prices good. in addition to "upscale" restaurant across the River. Has gas and pumpout new docks and seawall. Remote location. Protected basin off short channel from River.

Some good/Some not so good, 2008-10-29
Captain: , Sanford, FL (206)

New docks and seawall on the inside. Outer river seawall is nearly complete (11/08) with new transient docks. There are about 4 AAA 3 star cottages that are river front incase you dont have accomodations on your vessel. The marina is under new ownership and is making improvements. There is a good restaurant and bar across the river which can be accessed by walking across the bridge.
No other amenities. Fuel is highly priced, not always stocked with ice, restaurant currently closed, no ship store (or lack of any products in ship store).

Run Down, 2008-03-11
Captain: , Jacksonville Florida (125)

Fixed docks here in bad need of repair and very high fuel prices. There's a small run down restaurant but a nicer one across the river. Current can be pretty bad also.
