Reviews for Aransas Co. Nav. Dist. #1 Harbors
Cool little place, 2015-08-30
Captain: , League City (182)

Very protected municipal marina. A handful of transient slips on the east side of the horseshoe. These are souble slips with no dividing piling. I found them to be a bit narrow so take care if you are approaching one that is already half occupied. 30A power was on the dock finger and 50A power was on the quay at the head of the slip. About 6-7ft of water at the dock and 10ft+ on the approach. Very easy walking access to their beach area. Rockport is a trendy little place with several galleries and curio shops. Many of these are an easy walk from the marina. Additionally there are several excellent mom and pop type eating establishments that are close by as well. Never tried the showers or restrooms. Seems like a fun place to spend a little time.

Great weekend !, 2013-02-21
Captain: , Corpus Christi (161)

We stayed at this marina for a couple of days in mid February 2013 with the kids and had a great time.
They onhly had 30amp near my slip so I had to use 2 of them. docks were fixed and in decent shape. The harbor master was cool but we had to chase him down on Saturday to get a key...
The flat $30 rate is good and easy.
Lots to do in the surrounding (and even best if with a bike).
Did not try the showers / toilet...
Good time and location

Great location, 2011-12-05
Captain: , Port Aransas, TX (362)

Easy walk to downtown shops and restaurants; next door art gallery and maritime museum worth a visit; relatively new sculpture garden is directly in front of transient slips with paved sidewalk thru lawn areas where sculptures are mounted; plenty of places to walk the dog.
We arrived on a holiday weekend after the office had closed and left before it opened the following Monday, so we didn't have access to shower/rest room facilities nor to Wifi. Security reminded us to pay but couldn't take our credit card, so we had to return later to pay. $30/night including 50-amp power was extremely reasonable. Dockage is first come, first served (no reservations available), but I understand there is usually space available. Pump-out (free) worked great. Parking is right in front of the transient slips, very convenient if you have a car. But open access to transient slips made for a steady stream of lookers over the holiday weekend. Boat neighbors were very friendly and helpful.

Lots to Do Nearby, 2011-06-29
Captain: , Port Aransas, Texas (85)

We took refuge in this marina during a trip in mid June. There is a Maritime Museum nearby, Rockport Yacht Club, a free aquariuim (learning center for kids), and several nearby sandwich shops, restaraunts, art galleries and souvenir shops. There was also a trade days in the nearby field - all very close walking distance.

The docks and shower are secure with a key. There is one womens and one mens shower stall for marina (both locked), and numerous facilities for day users. All kept fairly clean. Fees cannot be beat at $30 per night, including electricity. Docks are set E-W, so a South wind (predominate in the summer) will pin the boat pretty hard against the dock. Plan to leave early before the winds pick up, if you want to get away easiest.

Gas and groceries will require a taxi ride. Ice can be purchased in 10 and 20 lb bags right across the street at a liquor store. Marina personel met us at the dock at 7 am to tend lines as we departed. All marina staff were very friendly and helpful. A lot to like here.

Still a great spot, 2011-05-14

Price is still $30 flat rate. Near several nice places to eat within walking distance. Grocery store is about a 2 mile bike ride.

Great for the money, 2010-10-09

Well protected marina with shower, laundry facilities, power. All for only $30.00 a night flat rate. Located within walking distance to food, shopping, and entertainment.

Rockport Harbor, 2010-01-19
Captain: , Corpus Christi (35)

The Aransas County Navigation District operates both this harbor and one a mile or so north if Fulton. This one is commonly known as Rockport Harbor and the other Fulton Harbor (I don't see it listed on Active Captain). Rockport Harbor had significant upgrades about a year ago. New bulkheads, some new docks, new power, etc were all done. Bath facilities were not included, but they are above average. As a previous poster stated, the location is within walking distance of various needs and attractions. The grocery store that used to be across the street is no longer within walking distance. Fulton Harbor also has good docks and facilities and is within walking distance to restaurants, shopping, etc.

Plain Jane slips, but great town access, 2007-02-24

Nothing fancy about this stop, but it is right in the middle of everything. Grocery, bait, restaurants, bars, maritime museum... all within easy walking distance. location, location, location!
