Reviews for Apalachicola Marina - Face Dock
Face Dock Near Ice House, 2017-08-12
Captain: , Lake Texoma (170)

Jeff from Apalachicola Marina couldn?t have been more helpful & accommodating. We were placed at one of the newer docks right across the street from the Ice House. The town of Apalachicola is charming with many gift shops & restaurant options. Unfortunately our visit was cut short due to unforeseen events caused by Mother Nature. The recent, heavy rains produced a great deal of limb debris present on the Scipio River. So much so, that in a matter of a few hours our AC strainer was completely clogged. Due to the August heat & humidity, we knew it would be a long night without air conditioning. We made the decision to leave the dock & head up the Apalachicola River to seek an anchorage. Jeff was very understanding & apologetic even though the situation was out of his hands. He refunded the entire amount we had paid for the night, which we greatly appreciated. Our situation was unlucky, but couldn?t have asked for more Apalachicola Marina. Four stars as facility is lacking restrooms & showers, but great location & kindness mattered more to us.

Nice town, Quite area, 2017-02-24

Water and power are fine, no facilities at face dock. Live music from the bar across the street, starts at 6 ends around 9pm. The golf cart is a big bonus. But no pumpout here or main marina. There is $10 pumpout at cipio creek maina if needed. Didn't plan on staying a week, but we had instrument problems and turned back, took advantage of their pay 5 get 2 free days. So we did not move over to Scipio. I f you just need power/elec and a golf cart then this is your place.

Town was pleasant surprise, adequate marina, 2016-11-04
Captain: , Port Aransas, TX (1344)

Face dock was easy tie up with help from marina, but dock is fixed and was very high at low tide. We used fender boards here. Power and water worked fine; didn't use showers at main marina office down the street. Big bonus - a loaner golf cart! We were able to provision at Publix and explore this quaint town. Nice parks, lots of history, cute shops, restaurants, etc. Enjoyed our 3 night stay in late October and would recommend this location due to it's convenience to town. This would be a good bicycle town, too. Free city wifi with no password worked reasonably well with our signal booster. Be sure to take advantage of the local seafood markets. We bought fresh shrimp and yellowfin tuna at 13 Mile that was delicious. Owl Cafe was nice setting, upscale dishes, well prepared seafood, but very bland.

Great stop before crossing, 2016-09-17
Captain: , Houma, LA (417)

We fuled at Miller's and then went upstream to the face dock for the night. The face dock is sturdy, protected, has good power and is within walking distance to town. We had a great meal at Owl Cafe. The dock hand was helpful. Easy to leave before sunrise for the crossing to Clearwater. While this is not a marina per se ( no showers, pool, etc) this was the perfect stop for a night or two before crossing.

No Afterhours Fuel, 2016-08-08
Captain: , New Port Richey (310)

Has been a great stop as you could get late night fuel. Well surprise no more. Nope the best guy they had no longer is there. No I am not asking, but we all can guess. Good guys finish last

4/2016 Nice and close to downtown a Must Stop, 2016-04-05
Captain: , Kuttawa Kentucky (410)

Really enjoyed Apalachcola, docking inside the fuel dock area a little tricky, but assistance from the dock master and helpers made it easy peezy. Used golf cart to run get supplies and eat some of the most wonderful Oysters at The Hole in the Wall restaurant. And their hamburgers are awesome. Really nice people everywhere you go. Shower facility is great. Wish I could have stayed longer.. maybe next trip.

they loan you a golf cart for free, 2016-04-01
Captain: , atlanta (100)

as other boaters say there's no showers at the Facebook but you can go down to the fueling dock for showers. Also no Wi-Fi available at the Facedock. friendly staff good prices and you can take the golf cart anywhere in town other than on Highway 98. It was a pleasure to ride around for a while on the land. piggly Wiggly grocery store is approximately 1 mile by golf cart.

price increase, 2015-12-08
Captain: , Ocala FL (515)

Price is now $1.50 per foot. Has both 30 and 50 amp and water at the power posts. Piers in good condition and easy ramp access to shore from dock. Docks are fixed and a good 3 to 4 feet above the low water tide today.
No shore facilities such as rest rooms or showers or laundry though.
No WiFi, but strong Verizon signal.
Food at Boss Oyster (formerly Caroline's) is Excellent!

Quiet and Secure, 2015-08-13
Captain: , santa barbara (760)

Face dock has easy access, good depth, secure docs, cleats for lines, good power and water. Area is clean, fenced and secure, close to town - there is a mini mart about two blocks away with limited supplies, also a nice bakery across street from the dock.

Nice Stopover, 2014-12-18
Captain: , Kemah, TX (622)

Quaint community, stately homes that are well refurbished. Dockmaster very helpful. Caroline's Restaurant is excellent. Great Apalatchacola Oysters. Diesel $3.15/gal, nice restrooms/showers

Great little town, 2014-12-15
Captain: , Bay City , MI (40)

Marina place uas at the face dock which is up the Scipio Creek. Stayed late to help us in. The face dock had no restrooms or shower but they were able to provide golf cart to use.
The delta or flat on the creek extends much further than the chart or plotter shows (9.6ft). Yoou need to go very close to the bridge and hug the docks heading up the Creek channel.
Accoss form this dock is a small bar with entertainment, a liquor and beer wine store with a good selection. Stayed and extra day to see the area historical sites and raw bars. Very friendly town.

not much of a marina, but the staff is great, 2014-12-04
Captain: , kemah tx (130)

the marina itsself is pretty small and the I couldn't get my 40' sailboat into the slip I was assighen to ... we tied up to a dock up-river ... power only ... had to walk about a quarter mile to the marina head which was really nice

Good overnight stop., 2014-04-15
Captain: , Rosston, PA (100)

Marina owner came back after hours to see us in. No amenities, but electric and right at a great little town. Really nice sunrise!

Secure Dockage, 2013-08-21
Captain: , Pensacola, Florida (191)

Right across the street from the Liquor store! You can walk everywhere. Try Boss's oysters and have a drink at the Gibson Inn.
We stop here twice a year going and coming from the keys and points south. Call to make a reservation as many boaters use this as a jumping off point and if the weather is bad they wait for days for it to clear. Nice people.

Great Location, 2013-04-13
Captain: , Anna Maria Island (573)

We love this spot, located directly downtown. Plenty of water we draw 5' favor the shrimp boats when you come in Scipio creek. It says priviate property and is gated you need to call Miller Marine just before the downtown dock to make arrangements. Miller Marine also has one of the best fuel prices we have found. Lot's to see and do many great resturants here too. Our favortie is Papa Joes just up Scipio Creek

It worked for a night. Managed by Apalachicola Marina., 2012-12-31
Captain: , St. Louis, MO (1850)

The dock is very strong and stable. Good power. Casting off the dock can be tough with NE, E and SE winds. The town is right there...very easy walikng. When we were there the dockmaster gave us the keys to the golf cart to get around. Convenience store 5 minute walk. Several restaurants within minutes. No pump out is a minus. In my opinion ok for a night or two, to duck out of weather or to even do the crossing from here. Dock master was a nice guy. Their little ships store was surprizingly well stocked with the essentials including a pretty good assortment of Racors and other filters. Not bad.
