Reviews for Annisquam Yacht Club
Beautiful Beach and views, 2017-06-22
Captain: , Beaufort, SC (420)

We were charged $55 for the mooring and included free launch service and facility use. Strong currents but worthwhile. We will come back.

A Nice Stop, 2016-08-05
Captain: , Wickford, RI (550)

Very, very nice showers and facilities at the YC, we were able to attend a barbeque there for a reaonable price. Not a lot of resaurants nearby and the one that is close is closed Wednesdays.
Folks are very friendly, the beach is really nice, and the dock staff was very helpfull to us.
We touched bottom at dead low on the southerstern most mooring

pricy mooring, 2015-09-13
Captain: , Cedar Crest, NM (90)

$60 for an off-season mooring with a take or leave it attitude at an empty marina is a bit much, but it's new england I guess.

Great stop between Boston area and Portsmouth, 2014-09-01
Captain: , Annapolis, MD (380)

Have stopped here twice, never been ashore either time. I like the Annisquam River and the AYC mooring are a great stop between Portsmouth and Boston/Scituate. A gather the faciltiy ashore is OK, they have a launch, but have always chosen to just hang on the boat and enjoy the spot - it's beauthiful.

Beautiful Beach Location, 2013-08-06
Captain: , Boston, Ma (161)

My buddy spent a few days here and loved it! (I picked up the boat and took it south through the Annisquam river and out to Gloucester Harbor.) He could not get over how beautiful the beach was, and how accessable it was from the mooring. The beach, which has clean white sand, is located just across the river, about 100 yards from the moorings. You can paddle board or dinghy over and join the many other boats beached and anchored just off the beach. If paddling, be aware of the strong current when the tide is running.

If transitting the Annisquam River in a sailboat, make sure it is close to slack high tide. I prefer to have a slight current on my nose when approaching the railroad bridge and Blynman Bridge so that I can motor in place if waiting for the bridge to open. There are many twists and turns, and if you are not paying close attention at all times, it would be easy to run aground. I wandered a few times, and would have run aground twice if it had not been high tide. Our draft is 6ft, and the controlloing depths are listed as 5.3 ft and 6.5ft.

almost idyllic, 2009-06-01
Captain: , Fredericton, NB, CAN (477)

We came through the river from Gloucester and wanted to get a mooring at the club for an easy start tomorrow towards Portsmith NH. The gentleman who answered our call on the radio informed us that as today was Monday, the club was not open. Just open from Wed through Sunday (it was June 1st). He also told us to feel free to pick up one of the exterior club moorings gratis for the night.

It was soft winds, gentle current and few boats going by. We look forward to a nice sleep after last night in Gloucester in an awful SW wind.
