Reviews for Annapolis Yacht Basin
A weekend cruise to remember, 2016-09-26
Captain: , Longport, NJ (50)

Attendant was right there when we pulled into the slip. We got to hang out with the mega yachts along the river. Our group enjoyed the wonderful Pussers bar and simply walked home. A quick exit on Sunday and home for the Eagles game!

Super Location for Mud Puddle Rose, 2016-08-09
Captain: , St. Petersburg, FL, USA (510)

We stayed 3 nights and this is the place to be. We walked to the Annapolis Outdoor Theater to see The Producers. The,liquor store is right around the corner and all the shops and restaurants for nearby for a short walk. We went to the temporary location of the Annapolis YC for lunch as they recognized our YC - St Petersburg of Florida and had a fabulous lunch at a very good price. This is better than the Annapolis Harbor Marina because you done have a tourist crowd standing next to your boat. Don't miss Storm Brothers Ice Cream shop

Great marina, awesome staff!

Very Convenient But Only for a Brief Stay, 2016-07-17
Captain: , Charlottesville (265)

Friendly and helpful enough. Very quiet in the basin and nice and close to town. Bath/showers OK, but a pretty good walk (through the AYC yacht club parking lot). A good way to see the town. Internet access through Annapolis Wireless; they claim they have a priority connection, but we couldn%u2019t get any access at all.

Nice marina. Great location. Accommodating people. , 2016-05-27
Captain: , Cape Porpoise, Maine (240)

We arrived during US Naval Academy Commissioning Week (graduation).
Annapolis was crowded and noisy. The marina was quiet, but very close to town for meals and shopping. We used Uber to go to some out of the way restaurants and to shop at Whole Foods.
The staff was friendly and helpful. Fuel and Pumpout painless and reasonable.
The fixed docks were fine - they seemed older, but well cared for. Some wakes and waves, but we enjoy a little motion.
We definitely will return.

Mega Yachts Here, If A Slip is Available You Can Get It, 2016-05-17
Captain: , Annapolis (291)

Nice location and the Mega Yacht Central of Annapolis, right next to the Annapolis Yacht Club. Fuel dock here, but it is usually tight to get into and expensive. Walking to everything from here, very convenient and the staff is nice and accomodating.

Great location, but felt unwanted, 2015-09-14
Captain: , Seaford, VA (783)

Came in on a slow Tuesday afternoon. Marina was tight to manuver in, but dockhand was at the slip and very good. Management didn't seem to care much about us after that, they were much more concerned about the mega yachts that hogged the entire fuel dock. High fixed docks, but no security or locked gates for a downtown marina.

The best part about this place is that it is close to everything, but we will probably look elsewhere for our next trip.

Nice marina, can be a little rolly..., 2015-09-09
Captain: , Guilford, CT (120)

We took a slip here on 8/29 because all the moorings were already taken. It's pricey, but after a long day's run, we were tired and just needed to rest as some weather came in. It is very convenient to downtown, and there are lots of places to walk. It is a nice marina, adjacent to the Annapolis Yacht Club.

Location, Location, Location, 2015-08-16
Captain: , Woodbridge, VA (60)

Located steps away from both Annapolis and Eastport resturants and shops. Friendly and professional staff. Tight quarters. Facilites could be more convenient. No free wifi.

Pleasant stay, 2015-08-08
Captain: , Mystic, CT (112)

Would return to this marina in a heartbeat! Staff was great assisting to the fuel dock and our first slip. Assisted all the way.

Ended up having to stay a second night due to weather in the lower Cheasapeke bay and they made it very easy. While we did have to move, the dock hands were there to assist the whole time.

Clean bathroom facilities and showers. Great location with a short walk to downtown Annapolis. Would definately stay here again and highly recommend it.

Was not noisy at all!

Nice Location to visit the town, 2015-07-27
Captain: , Occoquan, VA (352)

Nice marina and good staff. Would give it 5 stars if it had a pool to cool off in. Other than that, I would go back again. To visit the town, it is without doubt, the best place to slip into.

two nights was enough forever !, 2015-07-27
Captain: , Deltaville Va (531)

spent two nights here didn't get any rest at all! Thursday night spent listening to drunk golfers no one around to tell.....Friday listening to the AYC restaurant, as well as the AC exhaust vans form there...if you're 48' and under don't go here they'll stick you in the back left side of the place and you'll regret it.

Great place with great staff, 2015-07-11
Captain: , Sarasota, Ft. Lauderdale (643)

Right in the heart of things. Staff was super helpful. Even though they were full they let us stay at their fuel day for a few days. Went out of their way to make us feel welcome.

Good location, 2015-05-20
Captain: , Jacksonville Fl (1459)

Good place to see Annapolis from. Central location, easy access to both sides of the bridge. Docks clean and in good cond., staff very helpful, shore facilities clean and modern. Would visit again.

They don't want your business, 2015-04-28
Captain: , Portland, Maine (845)

We pulled in around 7:30am to get water and fuel(they open at 8). The attendant came out and told us we had to leave because a mega yacht next door was coming in for fuel. He could have opened early and pumped our fuel or they could have put us at the inside of the face dock. We went across to City Marina and filled there. The mega yacht never went in for fuel until 9. The attendant was not helpful nor friendly although he did say "sorry cap'n".

First Time visit was great, 2014-10-01
Captain: , Cambridge, MD (170)

This past weekend we attended a Grand Banks rendezvous here. We had never used this Marina before and were looking forward to our stay. Steve handled our reseveration very well even with all the changes and Dan, helped us dock easily in very tight quarters. The marina is right downtown Annapolis within walking distance to everything. We will be back in the future.

Exceptional Service and Location, 2014-09-29
Captain: , Corsica River (20)

Just stayed for a few days for the first time. Staff gave excellent arrival instructions and was very helpful and knowledgable during our entire stay. Location in downtown Annapolis with everything within walking distance can't be beat!

Always stay here, 2014-09-28
Captain: , Heathsville VA (80)

We have stayed at Annapolis Yacht Basin on many occasions. We find the staff to be responsive and pleasant: quick response and good directions when approaching the marina, and experienced help with lines when docking. Pump out was easy with broad dock in front; lines provided from dock, so no breaking out of lines required. Very confident location within a short stroll of the downtown areas as well as Eastport, just across the bridge. A little noisy at night, but it's downtown! Great spot.

Great location, 2014-09-10
Captain: , Middle River, MD (70)

And great help at the docks. The slips are a little tight for a 40' sailbaot but we had no problem docking. Whatever we needed they provided. Great showers and head. Right down town in the heart of activity. Pump out provided before we left and we had a straight shot right out of the marina. We will be back.

Great Stay, 2014-09-01
Captain: , Oriental,NC (327)

Stayed here for one night in the dead of winter, but the dockmasters were extremely friendly and the amenities were nice. Walking distance to all of the great spots in Annapolis. Took on water and fuel here as well which were great.

Don't count on buying fuel here, 2014-06-26
Captain: , Solomons, MD (110)

This is one of only two locations in the main harbor to purchase fuel but don't count on being able to buy any. The marina has a habit of putting megayachts on the fuel dock. On the day were were there, the fuel pumps at the other fuel dock across the creek were out of service. Good thing we had enough fuel to get to our next destination.

Convenient to Downtown, 2014-06-02
Captain: , St Pete Beach FL (82)

Okay marina in a great location. We were docked at the end of the waterway on the bulkhead. Very narrow slip and VERY ROLLY..... uncomfortable. Right on the parking lot of the yacht club. Oh well, it's Annapolis and expected in downtown. Did the tourist thing and enjoyed ourselves. Be sure to eat at Chick & Ruths, Maria's Italian & O'Brien's.

Excellent location and service, 2014-05-22
Captain: , Gull Bay, Lake George, NY (274)

Nice marina right in the center of Annapolis. Everything is within walking distance. We called ahead and made a reservation. Dockmaster was friendly, gave a good instructions on the approach and hazards. Dockhand was there to help us dock. Fairway is tight, with limited room for error. Our Catalina 445 with bow thruster was tight making the turn into the slip. Restrooms clean. The Annapolis Yacht Club building is next to the marina. Could be noisy if there is a big event there. However, everything was quite during our stay. If you want a nice place, that is a short walk to downtown, this is the place. We would return for sure.

The place to be to visit Annapolis, 2014-05-22
Captain: , Fort Myers Beach, FL (361)

Awesome location! Easy walk to ego alley, Naval Accadamy and all of downtown Annapolis. Friendly, helpfull and efficient dock hands.
We especially enjoyed renting a car to visit Washington DC. Taking the subway from New Carrollton, MD to DC really worked well.
We extended our stay by a day because we enjoyed Annapolis so much.

Your best choice for Annapolis Harbor dockage, 2013-10-09
Captain: , Annapolis (160)

deep water & big T heads and slips
short walk to downtown
clean modern bath houses
accomadating professional staff
competitive fuel prices

Narrow Slips & Fairways, 2013-09-25
Captain: , Corpus Christi, TX (702)

Great location and staff. Fairways are narrow and despite stating our beam at the time of our reservation we were placed in a slip with only 3 to 4 inches of clearance on each side. Chewed up pilings and rubrail our entire stay.

It is what it is, 2013-09-24
Captain: , Jupiter, FL (1236)

And it is convienent to downtown and all things old Annapolis has to offer.
A quick walk across the brige you're in Eastport and all that has to offer. We liked Davis's Bar and the Boat Yard.
The marina can be a bit rolly, but not bad.
The staff was helpful, but not overly friendly.
Internet is not free, but not bad 12.00 per month from Annapolis WiFi. Speed was adequate.

A great marina for a night or several days, 2013-09-23
Captain: , Alex Bay, NY (431)

We got lucky and got a slip late in the afternoon, but soon found out that our luck had paid off in spades. We were backed into slip #100 and could walk to land within a few feet of getting off the boat. That would lead us to many eating places within a 10 minute walk. The Restrooms are modern and spotless. The marina staff are professional and know their trade very well and will help with docking lines on the poles, right up to plugging you in. From this marina you can walk to most of the sites in what I would call the old part of Annapolis Harbor. The Marriott Hotel adjoins the marina and offers a great place to enjoy the outside bar and watch the local boats parade by or get something to eat. I would not hesitate to return. The dock fees were higher than normal, but I cannot compare with other neighboring marina's but I think the higher rates are due to the popularity of Annapolis Harbor and the short walk to many commerical businesses. Annapolis is a great place to spend 2-3 days.

Secure and Convenient Location, but noisy, 2013-06-22
Captain: , Barnstable (268)

This is a very convenient location right next to the Annapolis Yacht Club and across the parking lot from the Marriott. I would say that it is understaffed and a little standoffish for sailboats. It caters to alot of noisy megayachts. We were literally surrounded by megayachts and had to wait significantly until the staff could find time to help us. You cannot beat the location, and the facilities are adequate. I would stay there again because it's secure and convenient, but would not rate it among my favorite stops.

Perfect Location, 2013-06-21
Captain: , Jersey City, NJ (190)

Another well maintained, well staffed marina. Easy walking distance to everything in Annapolis.

Great stop with ancillary services, 2013-06-10
Captain: , Bluffton, South Carolina (327)

Stayed here two days, May 29 and 30. Very attentive harbor master and staff. Had plumbing issue which was solved by Annapolis Harbor Boat Yard in no time. After several windy days on the Chesapeake, needed a professional detailing, and Jim Dean Yacht Services provided first rate service at a reasonable price.

Great location / experienced staff, 2013-03-22
Captain: , annapolis (10)

I have been cruising the east coast for years. I make sure to stop in Annapolis, and always at The Yacht Basin. LOcation to town can't be beat. Some roll dockside, outer harbor/ river entrance could use wave break. Always found marina staff to be helpful/ well informed.
Marina heads/ docks/ grounds are CLEAN!

Best of Bay, 2012-09-07
Captain: , Hilton Head (130)

Three quick recommendations for anyone cruising upper Ches Bay:
Yacht Basin - great service - knowledgeable and anxious to help.
Boat Washing - Prestige Yacht Management - had five guys on the boat morning after I called and they did a first rate job at a very fair price. A/C Repair - simply the best I have ever encountered - Nate @ Horton Marine Services. You can do no better!

The best of the best, 2012-07-02
Captain: , Williamsburg, VA (200)

A++++ all the way. Great location, and great staff. Easy access.

CONVenient but $$$, 2012-04-12
Captain: , Monches,wi (330)

Have stayed here on several occasions when in Annapolis. Great location to dining and downtown.

But it's pricey. And you will rock n' roll.

Location, Location, Location, 2012-04-04
Captain: , Hollywood, Maryland (40)

Close to town, clean and very helpful staff. Showers and heads were immaculate and the slip (#45) was perfect for arrival, departure, access to facilities and no wakes to speak of. The complaints of paying $0.50 higher than slips across the creek are rediculous at "face value"... Had a great stay and would return next time I'm in Annapolis.

Nice Facility in a great facility, 2011-10-17
Captain: , bear, de (364)

The best place to stay for the boats shows!! Same price as Back creek and you are right there. On time check out tighly enforced.

Great location; has laundry facilities, 2011-10-11
Captain: , Lindenhurst, NY (316)

Nearest marina to town when boat shows are in town. Adjacent to Annapolis Yacht Club whiich is very nice if you have recriprocal yacht club privileges and can visit their facility.

Convenient to Town, 2011-06-09
Captain: , Kings Point, New York (80)

Annapolis Yacht Basin is extremely convenient to town. The marina is nothing special but the staff is attentive. The marina seems to take a lot of wakes and our 54 foot motor yacht
was rarely still. The price is expensive, but the convenience is unsurpassed. I would return, but I might check out other options as well.

Expensive/Basic, 2011-05-16
Captain: , Rockport, ON, Canada (265)

For 3 bucks a foot the facilities and help should have been much better. Local staff didn't know when the grocery store ($7 cab ride) closed. Docks were fine as was power and water. But just not worth the asking price.

Closest to the action other than the city docks, 2011-01-26
Captain: , Newark, DE (259)

No pool, but decent marina with lots of nearby fine dining. Plus there's some high dollar boats here and you're right next to the Marriott. Close, walking distance to all of Annapolis's attractions. The marina is a little on the pricey side.

Location location location, 2010-02-18
Captain: , Annapolis, MD (270)

Expensive but the closest slips to downtown Annapolis.

Graet Expectations, 2009-07-29
Captain: , Holland, MI (116)

Dock hands were friendly, location is close to town but I was jamed into the back corner backed up to the yacht club restraunt. No view what-so-ever. Marina is very susceptable to wakes so you tend to roll etc. Price is very high at $3/ft etc.

Town is great.

Location, location, location, 2009-06-28
Captain: , Patuxent River, MD (387)

Three years in a row there now and every time we've had decent dockhands to help us get into the slip. Not too crazy about the open nature of the showers, but at least they are clean. This marina takes reservations unlike City Dock which is first come, first served. Easy walk to the heart of town. Inside slips views limited.

Great location, 2008-11-10
Captain: , Bermuda (219)

We were here for three nights in November, so there was plenty of space. We were put in 140' slip so didn't have any of the problems of previous reviewers. Great central location for Annapolis restaurants etc.

Gross but close, 2007-08-17
Captain: , Stratford, CT (146)

I agree with the previous review. We were actually among the 'big boats" and were put on an outside dock. This marina is as close to Ego Alley as you can get and still be in a private marina. It was fun watching the boarts go by, but being on the outside meant a lot of wakes all day and into the night.

Better to be in one of their inside slips, but as stated, it is tight for anything approaching 50' or single screw.

The best part of this place is that it is very close to town.

July 4th 2007, 2007-07-13
Captain: , Marlton, NJ (171)

Loaded with Mega yachts and powerboats. Near impossible to dock a single screw boat if there is any breeze whatsoever. Docks are very close and provide limited room to manuveur. Dock hands don't seem to know much about docking boats. Definitely set up tocater to mega yachts. Fuel dock blocked by them all weekend and they wouldn't fill my tank because of it. Single screw vessels try someplace else.
