Reviews for Anchorage Yacht Basin
Love this anchorage, we call Dragon Point! Beautiful sunset!, 2017-04-12
Captain: , Bay City, MI (730)

We stop here whenever we pass this way. The anchorage is protected from almost any direction. We like to go up the Banana River but not as far as the bridge. The boat ramp is not a close stop, but if you go there, it is an easy stop with a good place to stop with your dogs to do their business. The Dragon is gone now, but a few remnants remain. Look it up. Great history!

Very helpful, 2015-11-17

We were in a difficult situation and Ed and his five helpers tried their best to get us into their travel lift. We were just two inches too wide and had to find an alternative but I would recommend this place to anyone.

Great Bottom Paint Job Here., 2015-10-28
Captain: , Indian Harbour Beach, FL (105)

I recently came across their website and decided to haul-out here for bottom painting. A nice family owned marina that provided quality work and friendly, caring service. Ian and Ed Nelson, along with Mrs. Nelson run the marina. Willy and John did the bottom preparation and painting perfectly. The marina also allows some outside contractors to work and I had a much needed hull compounding and waxing done too. A nice consumer friendly working marina and so close to home.

Outstanding Haulout and Bottom Job!, 2015-10-15
Captain: , Manatee Cove Marina (10)

Willy is an artist! The swing keel (cast iron 800lb) looked like it had a really bad complexion. Apparently, the folks at the "last" haulout didn't think a cast iron keel needed priming. It's worth at least a knot as smooth as it is now.
Ian, Ed and the rest of the crew were phenomenal. They totally accomodated my travel schedule and did everything I asked.
I KNOW where I'll take the boat next time I need to do work out of the water...!
Thanks, Anchorage...!

Jobs well done!, 2015-10-09

As a Licensed Coast Guard Captain, I have traveled many miles through out the East Coast, Bahamas and Carribean on all types of ships. Few marinas have been as complete as the Anchorage Yacht Basin. After my new engine was installed, Ian, Ed, Mike and the rest of the Anchorage team, have been taking great care of my boat and hundreds more for years !!!
Thanks Guys!

Full time slip rental, 2015-07-08
Captain: , Palm Bay, Fl (62)

I keep my boat wet slipped here full time. The marina is very easy to get in and out of, and offers quick access to good sailing grounds for a daysailor/weekender like myself. Also, thay have some of the best prices in town concerning long term slip rental rentals. If you are not planning to live aboard and just need a place to store your boat (wet or dry slip) consider anchorage.

Haul Out Heaven, 2015-05-30

This is family run business and has been for years. The Nelsons are knowledgable, helpful, and reasonable. I am a DIY guy. They pulled my Bristol 35.5 CB, let me hang to service my centerboard, allowed me to do my own work. One of the best yard experiences I've ever had. After watching Willy, their bottom man, work, I'd let him do my bottom any day.

Very Friendly Owners and Staff, 2014-06-01
Captain: , Lizella GA (1826)

I launched my boat at the nearby ramp and needed a place to keep my car and trailer for a week. They were so helpful. I called ahead and since I would not be coming in until after they closed they told me to just dock at fuel dock. They agreed to store my car and trailer and gave me discounts for my slip. It is a family run business, the mother and two sons who went out of their way for me. The only downside is that it is a working marine yard and the showers were not very clean otherwise I would have given a 5 star.

Very Nice and Friendly!, 2014-03-16
Captain: , Muscatine, Iowa (50)

I don't understand the negative reviews? We called ahead on the phone, just 30 minutes out with steering trouble, looking for fluid and a few small parts. They had what we needed, put us into a slip, gave us a discount on the rate and is a great spot for shelter from the impending blow from the SW! The staff was very friendly, helped us into the slip and offered information about the area and parts we needed. They have a huge selection of parts on hand! More stuff in the ships store than most of the mini west marine stores. Easy walk down to Publix, and multiple restaurants and shopping. Sort of throws a big shadow of doubt on the reviews I read.

Captain: , Stuart, Florida (203)

This marina just had TWO law suits from people who injured themselves on their dighys. They will not sell diesel to people on dighys. You cannot land your dighy. You cannot use it to go to the store.

Great help on the waterway, 2011-11-29
Captain: , N. Myrtle Beach (343)

Had a minor issue with a raw water intake while anchored on Thanksgiving day. The Nelsons, Ed and Coleen along with their son, Ed Jr., were a great help and got me back on the waterway. Great attitude and Ed is a great marine historian.

Additionally it is a beautiful anchorage and did a great job of protecting us from a strong wind out of the east.

Not boater freindly, 2010-04-29
Captain: , Melbourne Florida (4616)

They did not want us taking our dingy in. We had planned on buying bait and ice and get info on staying a week, but decided to leave. Some guy on his boat just watched us come in and made it a point to let us know we were not welcome. This should help get the word out......

Very unpleasant to transients!, 2010-03-30
Captain: , Old Saybrook, CT (1021)

These people would not allow a friend to land a dinghy in order to take his starter motor ashore for repair. 1. They were not interested in helping with the repair. 2. They would not accept a payment for landing the dinghy. 3. They would not offer any alternative suggestions. As a result, he had to take his small and underpowered dinghy back down the ICW in foul weather in order to find a landing place.
