Notes

Terrific little marina in upstate NY where L. Ontario empties into S. Lawrence River. Local French festival following July 4th weekend each year - worth a visit. Grocery, liquor store, laundry and restaurants within walking distance. Washrooms, gas and bait on site. Other marinas and overnight docks close by. Great bass fishing in area and the beginning of the Thousand Islands park area.

Reviews for Anchor Marina and River Marina
Nice Place, 2015-09-14
Captain: , Havre De Grace MD (130)

My uncle used to keep his boat here. Its a nice enough place. There was always a lot of seaweed in the marina when we would visit in July. There is a french festival the weekend after July 4th that draws a big crowd. The marina building used to be an old railroad station. Its got some fun history and a short drive from several points of interest along the seaway.

Worst marina of the trip, 2015-08-16
Captain: , Port of Toronto (296)

The marina suffers from neglect. The toilets and showers were filthy. The power didn't work and I ended up running an extension cord from the train station. The water was connected to the pump out so we didn't use it. They had no gas and boats would come and go all day looking for gas.

In town there is a food store with beer. There is a liquor store across the road from the marina. Beside the food store is Aubrey's Inn. We had meals there that were without a doubt the worst in living memory.

My advice; dock at the public docks. Avoid the Anchor and Aubrey's at all costs

Quaint little railroad station/marina, 2015-08-06
Captain: , Olcott, NY (2536)

We came in on the heels of a serious SW blow, the kind that takes a 6.5kt boat down to 2.1 kts against the wind and current.
We were able to sneak behind their outer dock and had a very restful night. The owner was there the next day to help in any way. Good old fashion service, hard to come by these days.

Adequate Marina, neat little town with Customs Office, 2014-08-17
Captain: , Glen Arbor, MI (101)

The town of Cape Vincent is much smaller than nearby Clayton, but that may be a good thing. There is a grocery store and liquor store within easy walking distance of the marina. Also there are several restaurant in the village. I was there in early June and did have trouble reaching anyone at the marina. best bet is to use the phone. The docks are older and a bit rundown, but the price is about half what I would have paid in Clayton. easy spot to provision. Also the marina Does sell diesel fuel and gasoline. Cape Vincent has a Customs office so this is a convenient entry point if coming from Kingston if you are planning to explore the St Lawrence.

Captain: , Gananoque ,Ontario Canada (288)

nice place to tie up no fee for town dock there is a 4 night limit. Close to town and good food be sure to visit Bob at the liquor store 5 minute walk from dock very comical and helpful. A good place to get groceries and odds and ends

No Body Home, 2012-06-06
Captain: , Guntersville, AL (451)

No longer has diesel fuel. Harbor has lots of grass. Docks are in poor repair. Has a crude pump out but hose would not reach across my boat to the cap. Could not get anyone to answer phone or radio. We elected o o to the town dock...good water depth and lose to shopping.

Anchor Marina in Cape Vincent, 2011-07-17
Captain: , Oriental, NC (1148)

Marina has adequate facilities and is protected from all winds, however, a strong NW or North wind can cause some rolling. The Marina is very well priced at $0.80 per ft. There are some supplies and a few charts covering as far as Cornwall on the Canadian side. Marina is near town which has a supermarket, bank, library with WiFi. Good place to stop and study the ST Lawrence Seaway. Showers, Heads are basic but adequate.

Pleasant, 2009-07-13
Captain: , Lewes, DE (2517)

Marina is close to town and all its facilities. Staff is pleasant and friendly and knowledgeabl to answer all questions. The dock is exposed to NW winds making it a little rolly but the price is right.
