Haul out for Hurricane Matthew, 2016-10-19
Captain: , Shinnecock Bay, NY (610)

Had my boat hauled out for Hurricane Matthew. I arrived just before they were due to go home for the day but they stayed and made sure I was hauled and set up. The storm hit hard and I screwed up and didn't remove my jib, it got shredded. I almost lost my dingy too, but Don (one of the yard workers) made sure it was safe. I got put back in a week later and there was no extra charge for the days I stayed for the insurance adjuster to get in and check out my damage. All the time Kim and all the yard workers were helpful and courtious. And the cost was very reasonable.

Real good folks, prices and work, 2016-03-31

Went on the hard overnight for a sonar transducer install. Quick and easy. I would go there again, for sure, in the future!!

Reasonable work - very bad at scheduling, 2015-09-29

I was towed to Anchor Marine after hitting a rock in the rock pile. They repaired my skeg and sent my rudder out for repair. The work came out fine, but they kept being way too optimistic in when they would complete the work. The job took 3-1/2 weeks. After the first week (which was understandably lost due to rain) they repeatedly predicted "one or two days" to finish up. The rudder was sent out to a welder who did not touch it for two weeks until I went directly to him to ask about it. It was then completed within a day. On launching day morning, I was promised that I would be in by 11:00, but finally made it at 3:30 while waiting hours for a house boat to be assembled and launched first.

To be avoided at all costs, 2015-08-17

I used this marina for my survey inspection haulout in September of 2014. I was promised that when I returned in the Spring for bottom paint they would not charge me again for a second haul out. I made the arrangement an retuned march 27th for bottom paint, detailing and sea cock repairs. I was given a finish date of Sep 3rd. (one week).

I checked on the boat frequently and observed on Sept 7th they still had not yet even cleaned the bottom allowing the scum and algea to dry and harden. Many phone calls and conversations later I was advised they had gotten involved with restoration work for the marina restaraunt. It took this crew nearly nearly 6 weeks just to paint my bottom while missing every other milestone. Again after much deliberation they replaced the seacock mounts but the rushed job resulted in voids in the adhesive sealant. I pointed out the voids which they ignored resulting in a continuous leak. They attempted to force sealant into the void with the boat in the water with predictable results. I have spoken to others recently with similar bad experiences. Had I known the marina was for sale at the time of our repairs I may have reconsidered our options.

Best Repair yard in the area., 2012-10-03

Had our boat hauled for bottom paint and some general repairs. They let you work on your boat and bring in other contractors if you prefer. Very helpful wtih problems that I was taking care of.

Reasonable & efficent, 2012-05-30

Our boat needed service as we were coming though "the "rockpile" on Memorial Day. The service yard was working and had the lift ready as we approached. The work was done quickly and was very reasonable. No dockage fees were charged while work was underway. A positive experience with this boatyard and would not hesitate to recommend them for service work.

Hit a rock in the rockpile, called Anchor Marine, they had travellift waiting for me. Pulled boat and three mechanics went right to work.
Hampton Inn next door.

When we cruised this area recently we needed an emergency haul out and prop repair. Anchor Marina rose to the occasion. They were prompt, knowledgeable and customer oriented. I will use them again and recommend Anchor Marina to cruisers for srvice work.

A working boat yard with an adequate marina. The restrooms at the office are fine. The on site restaurant and bar are a fun place.

Working Marina, 2009-02-05
Captain: , Little River, SC (443)

This is a working marina with travel lift and ship store. The store is fairly well stocked. There is little water at low tide though there has been some dredging.
