Reviews for Amherst Marine Center
Nice people but more a boatyard than marina, 2014-10-07
Captain: , Montezuma Bay, Ohio (154)

Nice people, friendly boaters and staff. But the docks are very high from the water, very narrow, and there are lots of ways you could damage your boat if not properly tied and fendered. If you're looking for the ameneties you would expect at marinas on the great lake, this isn't it. Fine for an overnight stop but docking at one of the walls along the canal towns would be preferred.

Nice Friendly Boatyard, 2014-09-26
Captain: , Detroit (767)

We started our two week cruise out of here. The Jack, Bill and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. The restrooms and showers were updated and clean. We were able to leave our truck and trailer here as we headed east on the canal.

Can you return a call?, 2014-07-20
Captain: , Sandusky, Ohio (392)

We left a voice message on their number mid morning. Never heard back from them by 6 pm. We docked on a pier to the west of this marina thinking it was part of them, but it wasn't. I walked over and inquired about a dock for the night. I was offered a weed filled spot in the haul out well, with utilities pretty far up the bank. Since I had already tied up next door, I elected to stay there for the evening.

Amhurst Marine Center, 2013-07-19
Captain: , Erie, PA (587)

Older facility but with a nice, modern restroom with a shower.
The transient slips appear to be the ones at the travel lift well.
We stayed in the well and the only power available to us was 15 amp.
There is a nice paved bike trail that starts next to the facility.

They probably don't get many visitors as North Tonowanda is five miles to the west.
We stayed here as we were heading east and came into North Tonowanda during their annual canal fest. There were no, nada, zilch dockage areas in Tonowanda during canal fest week. As a matter of fact, this facility was pretty much deserted as everybody moves their boats to the festival site for the week with boats rafted two and three deep.
