Reviews for Almar Ventura Isle Marina
Many Locations, 2013-07-02
Captain: , Ventura, CA (106)

We enjoy being members of the Almar Marine family. Their locations and reciprocal privledges are a plus for us on the west coast.

Plenty of empty slips, 2012-12-11
Captain: , Ventura, CA (32)

Most expensive in the harbor (by hundreds per month over competitors) - it does have concrete docks, where some of the others don't.

10% Liveaboard ($300 something / month to liveaboard plus metered electricity - YIKES!) so relatively quiet during the week (Ventura West Marina is 50% liveaboard).

Lots of turnover in maintenance staff, and office staff too, and I think that reflects upon the management. I know of several long term tenants that left due to management and price. If your not part of the manager's "in-crowd", expect some extra hassles. If you are, expect some extra perks.

The boaters here are fantastic people - most are avid boaters/sailors, keep their boats seaworthy and will end up being your good friend.

It's a good idea to make friends with one of the liveaboards as they are more than happy to watch your boat during the week and give you a shout if something is awry.

Crime/vandalism onboard is rare, but watch out in the parking lot. The marina does NOT have security, and it isn't unheard of for cars/trucks to be broken into (don't leave anything in the car - no matter its value) and bicycles/motorcycles have been stolen.

12/2012 - UPDATE: There's been a rash of burglaries, including onboard, and unknown persons even "staying" or living onboard. Marina does NOT have security (a few years ago, they had security that walked the docks, and parking lot) so be careful.

Been there 12 years, 2011-03-10
Captain: , Ventura Ca. (66)

I have slipped a vessel here for over 12 yrs. The staff is exceptionally professional and very friendly and helpful. The docks are maintained well and it is a safe place to relax. Close enough to chandlary, boat yard, shops and groceries. Has something for everyone including children. Would recommend it to anyone.

Best Marina, 2010-08-15
Captain: , Austin Texas (120)

We just finished cruising the Southern California Coast and this marina was by far the best of all that we visited. The people are friendly, the facilities are new and well kept and the marina is very pet friendly.

Great access to shops and restuarants that are within an easy walk.

Wonderful Management, 2010-03-27
Captain: , Channel Islands, California (1149)

These folks are friendly, helpful and knowledgable. The facilities are second to none. It is a close walk to lots of things to do and eat. We spent a year there and made some of the best friends of our lives.

An Excellent Marina, 2010-02-22
Captain: , Ventura, CA (84)

A first rate marina facility with a dedicated and professional staff. This captain's home away from home for 25 years.
