Reviews for Allen's Landing
Allen's Landing Cruises, 2013-07-02
Captain: , Clear Lake Shores, TX (683)

Several boating organizations, including Houston Yacht Club, Lakewood Yacht Club, and Texas Mariners Cruising Association (TMCA) make annual cruises to this destination, sometimes with just a half-dozen boats, and sometimes with as many as a couple dozen! (Double and even triple rafting is required for these larger flotillas.) Yes you do need advance USCG approval, but that is fairly easy to get, and doing this cruise with a group (recommended!) makes it all pretty easy to accomplish. Boats should be in tip-top operating form because the very busy Port of Houston is NOT a very good place to break down!!! Again, there are no services (elec. or water) available, but when prepared, one or two night stays there can be accomplished quite easily, especially if you do it in the cooler spring or fall months. To see photos and read reports from past TMCA cruises, check out our website at www.tmca.nu . IMPORTANT NOTE: Due to a planned complete renovation of the International Coffee Building starting in mid-summer 2013, the entire Allen's Landing Park, including the waterfront, will be closed until probably early fall 2014.

Coast Gaurd approval required to transit past San Jacinto Monument.
This is a city of Houston park with no facilities. Cement bulkhead with cleats. The trip up Buffalo Bayou is a nice trip once you get all of the approvals.
