Reviews for Albufeira Marina
Good safe haven, 2017-06-24
Captain: , London (709)

Good sheltered marina with only a very small amount of surge. The staff are really helpful and all speak good english. Docks are in good order and the wifi is great.
We are a 14.8 metre motor trawler just arrived from Madeira the monthly rate is good (we have paid E3000 for the six months) and we intend and lift out for underwater work/paint whilst here. The yard looks clean and tidy and the travel lift looks good (we are 43 tons) its a 70 ton lift.
If you need propane ther is a place that can fill any gas container 10 minutes drive away called CM Pedro. Its a service station on the N120 just off the N125 outside of Boliqueime. Turn onto the N120 and its immediately on your right. This guy fills any gas bottle with propane even if its butane bottle!

Although the approach on the chart is obvious, the marina cannot be seen from the sea. Our larger boat is on pontoon G across from the Algar Experience boats. Lots of activity. The marina just put in a new Wifi that works well and was free. They have sailors to help you dock and berths are side ties. A very comfortable place for the boat

Having said all that, this would be one of the last places we would choose to be stuck by the weather for five nights. The Old Town isn't. It is a typical resort area with nothing of of historical or architectural interest. As said in other reviews, you need to take a taxi to town (or be much younger than we).

Nice place for our cat, 2016-06-28

Welcomed by very friendly staff offering information about the area. Easy to catch a cab behind the restaurants to the old town overlook for 6 Euros and then used the escalators to go down to old town. Restaurants there have spectacular views of the beach.

Made a reservation a day before arriving yesterday. Price for our 41 ft catamaran was 80 Euros.

Albufeira Marina - Safe haven in a storm, 2014-01-09
Captain: , Albufeira (36)

Well protected modern marina with several bars and shops in a new resedential development due west of the popular tourist destination Albufeira in sunny Algarve. The main town is a 15 minute walk up a slope and past the original old cottages now with bars and cafes between the tile-clad white and blue walls. White Castle was the original meaning of the name.

Marina Albufeira, 2013-05-18
Captain: , Orust (1863)

Marina is very protected with an easy access.Typicall restaurant/bars in the marina. Town is a 30 minut walk away. WIFI is extra. Not that many slips for boats over 13m. When we visited the Marina had no empty slips over 13 m. This in low season!

Nice but can be loud in the summer, 2013-03-22
Captain: , Portimao, PT (64)

The marina is well protected and has good amenities.
The boardwalk is full of restaurants and bars to choose from. The down side is that it can get noisy at night if you are docked nearby.

Nice well protected marina, 2012-06-07
Captain: , glasgow (300)

Very well protected, great staff, a bit of a walk uphill to the town and nearest supermarket, wifi/laundry extra ,electricity included, reasonable rates, sharkies bar just outside the marina worth a visit, certainly worth a stop.
