Reviews for Albion Terminal Wall
Nice Stop on the Canal, 2017-05-28
Captain: , Detroit (767)

May 2017 Update - Still no dock on the bathrooms !!!!!

Have to agree with the reviews on the docks and restrooms. Need to have a deadbolt or something on the doors to the bathrooms/showers. It is well worth the walk to the south to the Valley House restaurant. We had a great meal and were able to do all our internet on their WiFi will we had a pre-dinner cocktail. The staff did not rush us along.

Nice town and dock wall, 2016-09-26

But I agree with others...put a lock on the bathroom doors!
We had to stand watch for each other..
Other than that the facilities were clean and water and electric were free.
Tim Hortons was a small hike but was worth it for the wifi.

CAUTION: There are very nice restroom/showers in Albion by the docks on the south side. However, there is no lock, safety chain or hook or any other inside fastener on the door. The door opens to the outside so you cannot even deter intrusion by putting something against it from the inside. If you are inside and someone comes to the door & uses the combination to open the door, you will be rudely interrupted in whatever you are doing!! This is a serious flaw and needs to be addresses by whoever is responsible for these facilities.

In downtown, there is also a True Value Hardware & El Gallo Mexican Restaurant, closed on Sunday ?

If you walk south on Main St. it is 6 blocks (yeah, we know that's a walk, but the exercise is good for you!) to the intersection of Highways 31 & 98. There you will find Tim Hortons/Coldstone Creamery (with free wifi), Burger King, KFC, Subway, Family Dollar, Advance Auto Parts, Chia Sen Chinese Food, Rite Aid, and a new Dunkin Donuts almost ready to open. One block west of the intersection is McDonalds (free wifi) and 1 block east is Village House Restaurant. On the way there you pass 2 liquor stores (both closed Sunday), 3 or 4 banks (ATM), the Hoag Library (free wifi) the laundromat (same building as the American Legion) and a large Ace Hardware. If you carry a lightweight nylon or polyesster backpack, it is easy to tote your purchases back to your boat.

In downtown, there is a True Value Hardware and El Gallo Mexican Restaurant, both closed Sunday. One block south on Main and one block west, there is an auto supply store.

Beautiful Historic Town with Amenitiers, 2014-07-11
Captain: , Annapolis MD (258)

Albion is a bigger town that has a number of beautiful historic churches and amenities. There is power and water at the dock along with nice showers nearby.

Some of the churches have tours on Wednesday mornings. There are concerts on Thursday evenings, movies at 7 pm on Friday evenings at the library, and a farmer's market on Saturday. We enjoyed the movie at the library and were surprised by the free popcorn and cold bottle of water.

Within a 1+ mile walk are gocery stores (Tops and Save-A-Lot), fast food (McDonalds, Burger King, Tim Hortons, and Cold Stone Creamry), pizza shops, and finer restaurants.

Albion is a worthy of a stop.

Crooked Door Restaurant, 2013-08-20

A very nice clean restaurant with excellent food right on the canal. Half a mile east of the Ingersoll bridge on the south side. Well worth the scenic walk.

Free dock with power, bath rms w/ showers, 2011-08-03
Captain: , Gulf Breeze, Fl (6909)

Security key pad entry bathrooms (one each) on south side of canal near main St Bridge. Bathrooms are in the rear of the fourth bare cinder block bldg from the canal. Doors are light grey and face east.
spoke with the Local PD they have no crime problems at the walls. Lot's of historical bldgs. scattered about the town but no walk tour guide seems available. Dock at the only two yellow painted large cleats on south wall to be closest to the Bathrooms. the rest of the south wall has rings to tie to. North wall has cleats.

not as nice as other stops, but still good, 2011-07-29
Captain: , Key Largo (5457)

The new Tops grocery Store is a bit over a mile , as stated, we walked it. Get that tops card, it's free and gets you discounts.
Right behind the police station and fire station. Police driving by docks.
town has an american legion, and on bar downtown
Did discover a new bar/resturant, go east and cross the canal at the INgersal bridge, walk the canal path to just past the next bridge west, and take the path on your left to cross the bridge to visit the brand new Crooked Door Grill. Nice.

Albion-very quiet, 2011-07-01
Captain: , Stratford, CT (658)

Albion is a very quiet town with very little shopping . The nearest restaurant is a mile away. Restrooms are available

Albion Town Wall, 2009-08-03
Captain: , St Louis (671)

Free town wall, preferred dockage is on south side between the two lift bridges. Multiple power pedestals with 30amp outlets, multiple water faucets also along wall. Closest supermarkets are about 1.2 miles away on West Ave (go south on Main St then left on West Ave.) Several restaurants near by and shops. Very nice stop.
