Reviews for Admirals Hill Marina
An Inner Harbor Pleasant Surprise, 2016-09-16
Captain: , Red Brook Harbor (10)

We were visiting our kids who live in Charlestown, up from Cape Cod, and looking for a reasonable slip to keep our power boat. We cruised the inner harbor and then decided to explore under the Tobin Bridge, where we had never ventured. We passed under and quickly noticed red markers which we followed into Admirals Hill. Surprised to find a neat marina tucked in Chelsea, we tied up next to a couple who was unloading a boat load of just caught bass. After a quick Q & A, we checked in. Provisioning the boat was an easy walk to a Market Basket and we stopped along the way into a cute brewery, called Mystic Brewery for a craft beer. The kids joined up with us and we grilled dinner on the patio of the marina. Two days stay was very nice, friendly, and we will come back.

"A Hidden Oasis in Boston Harbor" August 2016, 2016-08-25
Captain: , Marblehead (10)

My husband and I were cruising from Maine to Boston. Our research showed that Admirals Hill was a NO WAKE area which appealed to us after having been in the other Boston Harbor marinas that "rock & roll". We headed to Chelsea and we were met by the dock hands who saw us motoring in and assisted us with docking. They were friendly, welcoming and offered to get us ice, (a bliock lasted 3 days!) and filled us in on the area. The facilities were clean and well kept. Sleeping on the boat was the best nights sleep we've had onboard for years, really calm. Our dock neighbors were friendly and we took long walks in the adjacent park. We walked to Mystick Brewery and had great Italian take out. Wifi was a ltttle weak but I was told that will be remedied when all new docks are installed this fall. We will be back. The Leighs

Very Disappointed , 2015-06-13

We were 4 day transients and all the paperwork we had to fill out was irritating. The fuel didn't work , the bathrooms were filthy , the security gate lock had been duct taped open ,and the management was AWOL . There was almost a hostile vibe there . The power boaters were very nice , but everyone else including the staff would just look right thru you . A Steven King sort of experience. To top it off , we made the mistake of prepaying and they refused to refund us for the night we did not stay !

Protected Marina in Boston, 2012-12-28
Captain: , Newport, RI (249)

This is a nicely run marina that is slightly off the beated path of Boston Harbor, but that means it is better protected against wakes, etc. However, the tide can swing pretty wide so suggest you check your tables for running and tie-up.

A little out of the way, but worth it, 2011-07-17

If you need any work done on your boat, sail or power, this is the place to get it done or to do it yourself. A lot of the locals bring their boats here for work because of the affordable rates and the yard manager's, Jack, knowledge and ability to get things done.

They do offer both gas and diesel.

Use caution when approaching at low tide as there are two bumps, shoals, that are right off of the tugs that dock across from the marina. I have a 7 ft. draft and had no problems at high tide.

Across the street is the Sunnyside Deli, open 6 am to 2 pm, that offers inexpensive food. Also, within walking distance is a very large grocery store and strip mall. Next door to the marina you'll find a bank.

Nice Marina, 2009-12-18
Captain: , East Greenwich, RI (660)

This is a nice marina in Chealsea MA. It is on the grounds of the old naval yard which has been converted to a very nice nehiborhood with great views of Boston. Outside of this there is not much to see in Chealsea.
