Joyful times

>>> Joyful times >>>

Even here in Key West, there are holiday signs everywhere. This time of year is a family time. Cruising is usually on hold while special visits, food, and events happen everywhere. Perhaps they're a little stranger in Key West than other places, but it's a joyful time of year here too.

It shouldn't be surprising that it is the slowest week of the year for ActiveCaptain use. We're taking advantage of that by installing the first wave of website changes to merge ActiveCaptain and eBoatCards. The first changes are mostly internal. There is a new, separate database server especially designed to handle account data and live map access. When a request comes in, it is broken up between different hardware servers to efficiently handle the request. This remote database server will make international access easier as we install our first European server in Frankfurt, Germany in 2016.

A new home page and the future look of ActiveCaptain should appear next week in eBoatCards.com - more on that next week.

For now, we wish you a wonderful holiday time with friends and family.

When you're thinking about purchasing boating supplies, think of Defender first.

Dylan and Dee Dee are desperately trying to fit in last minute "being good" before Santa arrives. The task is a bit easier for Dylan. The whole aCappella crew wishes you a happy holiday. You can wish Dylan and Dee Dee a Merry Christmas on their blog:
